The problem is Jhonny not all Christian think alike. It's a group of individuals with different views and even different values.. I know quite many Christians would be repulsed by some comments on here made in the name of Christianity. I know Catholics who think there should be abortion on demand (even if they themselfs wouldn't do it), that homosexual couples should have equal right to heterosexual ones, that women should be priests e.t.c.

So even if majority of ppl in Poland is Christian it doesn't necessarily mean they support this or that.

No privileges make up for loosing control over one's body. And if you didn't notice for a long time we are more or less trying to make both genders equal.


I am a women and yet your equal. It's not a privilege you give me and can take away.
And yes,to me as a women the vision of the new law is scary. I'm young enough that I have still many years in which I may get pregnant. And guess what? I'm not happy with the possibility that I may have to give birth to my rapist child or to a kid that will only live few hours or months in terrible pain.

For you I may seem melodramatic but for you it's more or less just theoretical question. For me it can become very real issue every month.

I'm not planning on being raped but it would be nice to know that if I got pregnant in a result of rape I would have the possibility of abortion.

It's not since they are not abortion pills.Their task is to slow down ovulation so there will be no conception. No conception=no abortion.

The current law allows 3 situations in which abortion is legal:
-the pregnancy is the result of illegal act (usually rape)
-the fetus is very sick
-the woman health and life is in danger.
I don't think anyone can call it too lenient.
Before PiS came to power the morning after pill was available without prescription but now you have to go to a doctor again. The abortion under the new law could be terminated only if the mather's life is in danger however I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to block that as well. And the women should be prosecuted and charged for up to 5 years in prison

That's what Nowacka said- that this ban will hit poor women the most since wealthier women will just go abroad. If you don't have a penny you'll be f*****.

I'm not panicking just yet but the vision of the future is getting scary.
For PiS supporters it may be worth remembering that they tried it last time and Maria Kaczynska herself organised a meeting in support of the current law.

Well, that will be interesting to see. Women already get ****** off. I didn' see a single positive comment about the new proposal on the most popular portals. Even gossip site like Pudelek reports this proposal and most comments I saw there and elsewhere is that priests went mad and should sort out their sh** and not get involved with this.

Some right-wing politicians are not too happy as well. Gowin (if I remember correctly) said that even though he's against abortion this new proposal will change Poland into unchristian country.

I will say this:
I was learning both French and Russian. After some time I still love Russian but I hate French. It may be due to my maturity since I was a teenager when I started learning French but I never even thought about trying to learn that language again.

To me my emotional reaction to a language is very important and I could never learn one that I don't like. Just try and see which one gives you more pleasure.

I didn't notice any special animosity from British ppl. If anything some poorer and less educated ppl hold a grudge since they have to compete with Poles for work. Not unusual and can be seen in all countries. The only thing that is annoying is that some ppl when talking about immigration seem to only remember Poles.

Sorry Pol but at least Delph comes up with new informations whereas your only response is that it's all KOD and unpatriotic Poles. Sometimes I agree that Delph blows things out of proportion but you really went over the board saying it's ok that the guy doesn't have any experience. Either don't comment or say that you don't believe he hasn't got any expirience or at least admit that IF it's true it was the wrong thing to do. Opposition ( Delph here) criticises the government as a rule (you did the same when PO was in power) but to agree that that situation is ok is just crazy. I saw quite many parents (even have one sad example in my family) that don't really talk to their kids. And I don't mean everyday chatter but proper conversations that shows what both parents and kids views are on certain things, about their dreams and their failures.

Also how often now parents and the kids sit together and talk about news, books e.t.c. ? How many parents really listen to the music their kids listen to and ask the kids what they like in it?

My sister in law had quite a few hip hop songs on her playlist after kids got interested in it. She wanted to know what her kids like and it turned out that few of them are actually nice and have merit.

The problem today is not the culture but the parents. The lack of conversation. Even if a kid saw a bit of porn (of course not shown by an adult because that's perversion) if the parents knew about it and talked with the kid and explained it's not how it is in real life than I doubt it would make that much harm. You are like the parents that want to change the ending of Red Riding Hood because it's too cruel. The thing is you cannot protect ppl and kids from different harms and especially from themself so the only thing you can do is try to give them the sense what is right and what is wrong. Why such cheap argument? As I said- I don't care if Poland is in the programme. If by the number of overstayed visa they decided Poland can't join I couldn't care less.
