Genealogy / Jewish Roots of Poland [639]

doesn't mean german culture has turkish "roots"! ;)

But it does. In the future, some Turkish/German person's family tree will show "roots" in Germany.

BWL

What's BWL?

Which one?

Justice system can be a joke. Look at the guy who played a large part in the Air India Bombing back in the 80's. I think he got 5 years. How many people dead?

Taxation and redistribution of wealth in the Unemployment insurance system. Working people in Ontario and Alberta pay the most into the system, but when it comes time to draw from the system, they can't get what the person in Nfld gets. It is a skewed system that really had it's flaws shown in this last recession.

The welfare system in general. There is no reason an able bodied, mentally healthy individual should not be forced to work, rather than collect, collect, collect for a lifetime, if they so desire.

If you didn't genuflect to the limey so much I would respect you more.

Just wait for us to become more multi-kulti. That too will end, then you can love us more! ;-)

Americans have always worked hard and even more so now being scared of loosing the job.

But the system is working against them, as more jobs are being outsourced to low cost countries. I read some articles that indicate Americans (including Canadians too) are starting to realize this, and there may be more of a shift back to domestic production of goods and services. We can hope.

There a alot of professions wo don't need a degree

All too often, schools pay too much attention on Business focussed careers. They overlook the wages that a good trade can pay. Electricians, plumbers, mechanics... They can make some good bucks, and there is always a demand for them.

Are you back in the 18 century romanticism?

Didn't that involve some backbreaking labour on the farm, and a few feasts and famines spread about?

Not so different from what we do now, is it?

You know what makes me happy in general? Learning things, new experiences.

Add in a reasonably happy, stable family life. The little experiment where you get to raise a couple of well adjusted kids...

What is your definition of success?

I think BB summed it up nicely. A little financial security goes a long way.

So, are you going to answer your own question?

What is your definition of success?

What was the exchange rate at the time? I don't remember the Czech Milenka as ever having been a valuable currency.

whats reason of all wars in history and two big world wars? all about capturing the wealths of earth. this is capitalism. failed hundreds of times.

And what precipitated the genocides of countless peoples?

Cambodia, Darfur, Rwanda, Russian, Yugoslavia, Iraq? Surely not all the fault of Capitalism?

capitalism has failed hundreds of times in the past

Failed in what ways?

socialism has not lived yet

It likely never will on a grand scale.

like cuba, venezuela least affected countries by this crisis

And their citizens can be counted as among the impoverished of the world, while their leaders go along, fat and happy.

USA, Canada / Getting a VISA to USA by a Polish person nowadays [339]

Is it really that easy? Do they not have border checks when you travel from Canada to the US?

Far from it. Border security is tighter than ever. New documentation regulations were recently passed, even for those of us who look American.

Are you guys still not allowed to go on holiday in Cuba? That sucks.

Not for us Canadians. ;-)
