Try to smell some natural herbs or oils, for example: a smell of oranges causes that mood becomes better, lavender helps to relax and so on... It's called aromatherapy.
I guess its impact on senses is not very strong, but you can try at least.
You can also have "cannabis" crushed and smell it.
Smelling herbs is nicer than smelling "bongs".

I'm sorry for you.
I don't like when people say that an illness harms soul. It does if we think so. I have always believed that human has as many strenght as it is in his mind, not soul. If you think, that a cancer harms soul, you become a loser.
You have to change your point of view at Your mother illness, death, Your lost and Your past in general.
I hope you will be fine pretty soon.
Just try to think over this what has happened to You. Try to look at it from a different point of view. Use Your imagination. Think about Youself in three months ahead. Do You still want to suffer and come back to the past? It is the easiest way to go.
These ones, who passed away do not think and feel in our way (at least, we don't know if they do), we feel pain here. But remember that nobody expects it from us. In our culture this is a normal state of mind.
I don't know if you need time to come back to Your tragic past. I hope You do know it.

But sometimes the feeling can be shorter, just at the time when I want to suffer less and not as long as most of people used to.
This is his decision.
It depends only on him and nobody will help him with this feeling.

I think finding good answers would be good for you.

It's true, but nobody expects from her to throw her mother away. A problem in the situation is the biggest for the mother of the girl. I think she doesn't see opportunities for them to be together.
If she saw them, she could change her mind.

I wanted to say that a word "Polack" is negative and shouldn't be in a title as something what can cause direspectful attitude toward readers and writers who take part in the discussion at start.
Actually, it's as biased as a word "black" for them who have black skin.
Polish slang does not keep in its spoken language a word "Polaki".
It sounds bad.

Literary translation would sound "Plastikowa kulturka Polaczków".

I'd think 10 times before taking the decision about marrying the Polish man.

- high ambitions about career especially among young people: they're like crazy about going further to get their goals without looking at others
- money
- high standard of living
- a very good education
- healthy life style
- travels
- entertainment
Society becomes more secular, don't you think? Church is less demanding and more permissive. I sometimes think if people remember a word "conscience". Many forget what is this.

I know many young couples who go to bed after one evening and are in a relationship for the next 4 days. Then everyone goes his own way and looks for a better lover for the next 4 days till he or she meets the best lover... for the next 1 month till he (or she) will not meet and check a better one.

Can You imagine world without money? I can't. The more important about them is when they become the main target. We work for money, no doubt, money allow us to realize dreams. It's the best thing. I don't like money, I like plenty opportunities they give me. I like to have dreams first, then money to dream more. Other sequence is wrong.

Jest, tylko że ludzie, którzy nie pracują, nie mają dostępu do informacji o wolnych miejscach w firmach. W ogłoszeniach pojawiają się informacje o okolo 10-20% wolnych etatów. Proces rekrutacyjny jest kosztowny dla firm!
Ludzie, którzy chwilowo nie pracują albo nie chcą pracować, albo korzystają tylko z dostępnych ofert stanowiących jedną piątą wolnych wakatów. Potem dziwią się tym, którzy mówią, że praca jest, tylko trzeba umieć ją znaleźć!
