News / US Military: The Army of Poland is crap. [124]

The US military is reportedly highly critical of the competence and capabilities of Polish forces serving in Afghanistan.

From what I know they are critical of every other army not only Polish, except their own.
Why bother to join the Americans in their wars anyway!

History / POLES NOT KEEN ON REPRODUCING? WHY ARE THERE SO MANY GERMANS AND RUSSIANS? [67]

No, really?
Did anyone suggest Poles have a problem with reproducing? I don't think so!!!

Over 38millions Polish nationals living in Poland is not a bad number and to add many more millions living abroad, who would complain??

When you look at the statistics (2005) you'll see that some countries, like Russia and Germany gain new citizens from other countries through immigration or refugee programs.

In compare, Poland is on 46 position with only 1.8% -706 000 (in number) new citizens gained from immigration; Russia is on 2 positon with 6.5%- which make over 12millions immigrants ; Germany on 3 position with over 5.4% - 10 millions immigrants as new citizens.

According to: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_immigrant_population

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

It is not as though one must sit on the in-laws laps or stay with them 24/7, however being respectful must apply.

I wrote "love them..."
I didn't suggest not to love them or to ignore them or not to care.

There is no reason a person should let oneself be bondage to skepticism and sadism.

You sound "high"; Life is beautiful, isn't it :)

About my married life ... it is something I know we must always be actively aware of.

It's good you are aware.
As I said before , I really wish you well and I'm not saying I'm against such marriages, just that these mixed marriages are in reality much harder to maintain then the ones within the same or similar culture . Some people don't realise there are this additional barriers and that's the reason I wouldn't recommend mixed marriages and it doesn't matter from what country the partner is from.

Wow asik - so judgmental

It's forum and I'm not judgmental it's just how I see things and what I know.
Is something wrong with it?? I don't expect you agree with me.
Why some people are always so unhappy when one has completely different opinion.

Love / Polish relationships (race and religion) [140]

I mean the man was an American and the girl Polish ...the girl was not the most attractive Pole ... but they looked happy

Are you saying, that only beautiful looking Polish girls deserve to be loved by Americans, what thaa?????
What wrong with you man?
You are so excited because "the "American couple are looking for any kind of mixed couples", LoL -I can tell you it sounds wierd and just wonder how did you find out "they were highly intellectual" - I can't believe it .

I wish you all the best with your Korean wife but only time will tell how it goes and
"nie chwal dnia przed zachodem slońca" because you are on a long long way before you can discover if such marriage (with mixed race and culture) really works.

Especially wait when you have children because it'll tell how well organised and understanding you are as a couple, mixed culture couple.
Also regarding in-laws, my private opinion is: if you don't want to destroy your marriage , you shouldn't mix with your in-laws (both of you) , love them but keep distance from each other.

I wouldn't recommend (as you do) to anyone to fall in love with a foreigner. Sometimes you have a choice - sometimes you can do nothing about it but try to avoid this as much as possible.

Life is hard as it is these days and to add cultural differences in marriage, it's often too much and these couples are separating much often in compere to other couples; but only their kids pay the price.

Within my circle of friends we've got a couple his Polish, she's Japanese and after 8 yrs, plus two children they are divorcing. What a shame and no-one could believe, she has a lover, an ugly monster but with much more money then her husband.

That's what counts for Asians, that is the reason their parents always keep close eye on their married offsprings. They would even recommend to split if their husbands not earning well.

I could always see how different they both were , you could always feel the coldness from her. Yeah of course she's still beautiful, that's the fact and the only thing which mattered for the guy from the start. Maybe that's his lesson in life.

BUSIA/BUSHA:What's with this anti-busha (busia) thing anyway? It's simply a Polish-American reigional variant for grandmother

Why do you expect Polish people (in Poland and from Polonia group ) to know what's busha or busia; simply the word doesn't show Polish or Polish/ English connection with proper word "babcia" as grandma.

For me it looks more like a connectin with English word "bush" , in Polish means "las/busz" not babcia.
Same with "busia", looks and sounds similar to Polish "buzia" which means "face"

Why don't you post-PRL-ians start criticising that nonsense you hear all about you these days?

Stop that "PRL-s" thing, it's boring and nonsense is to use busia/busha when you mean "babcia".

In Polish we have 4 simple words to name our closest family and if you are Polish you supposed to know that, there are no excuses:

mama - mum
tata - dad
babcia - grandma
dziadek - grandad

Life / Are Poles bigots and xenophobes? [205]

The Romas are treated with discrimination and outright aggression.

Just to educate you on some facts!

..did you ever had any contact with Roma people??? I had!

They are lazy and well organised group of criminals. They force they own and small children into prostitution and live from it. Adult don't work because they live from begging and stealing, they teach their own children from as early as possible how to beg and how to rob ordinary and sometimes even poor people.

These scambags should be put in one controlled area just to protect all of us, and not only people in Poland. They are already "working by begging and stealing&robbing" in the UK, in France. We'll soon hear where else they are strong and hard "working". Maybe they are already on their way to Texas? It's possible.

Rich Romas don't care and do nothing to change their own peoples criminal behaviour, that's why we all should act and do something to stop these beasts. I wish there was one law in the whole Europe to address this problem.

I think it would be very difficult for a non-Catholic to live in Poland,

Get your facts in order before you write about things, gypsy.

Obviously it doesn't help that the Catholic church is frantically anti-gay.

It is the most disgusting thing it could ever happen to human - to be gay.
There is nothing more to say.

News / Giant Jesus Rising in Świebodzin ( Tallest in world ) [323]

Now everyone in the world started to notice Poland!! Now, I can see more news coming about Poland, here in Australia where mostly England counts as Europe only.

Earlier in every newspaper, tv & radio news and on the internet around the world, everyone was talking about this statue - what a great achievement!!

Swiebodzin is now home to the tallest statue of Christ, named "Christ the King" (that's why he wears the gold crown) and people are planning to go over there to see it wioth their own eyes.

Is something wrong with it??? Who are the unhappy people here because of this statue??? Get a life morons!!!

Love / Why do so many Polish girls dye their hair BLACK? [124]

asik, but do you think polish girls like guys with black hair? or do they prefer some other kind of colour when it comes to guys? Just wondering, haven't been here for so long time =)

Some like some don't, it depends on what she prefers.
I don't think a hair colour is very important when a girl is choosing a boy. Your whole image is important I would say.

What planet are you from??????

Black is trendy these days!
Some time ago it was red colour, probably it would return .
It's happening not only in Poland but in every country where the trendy clothes, haircut or hair-colouring is followed.

Genealogy / Labia: IS THIS A COMMON GIRLS NAME...in Poland..? [19]

Nooo the other two are called Anna and Beata...but as i said , they both look pretty horrible... i am hoping this Labia will turn out to be the good looking one of the family...

Labia is not a girl's name but could be an animal's. Don't be surprise if you are introduced to a horse named Labia.

Unless you've misspelled the name and it is Lamia , a nice name but according to a Greek mythology means a child eating demon or a young men seducer.

Have your eyes wide open, just in case :)

Who are you to say "the ghoul" about Kaczynski anyway?!!! Are you one of the Russian's brothers, like Tusk-sprzedawczyk??? BACK OFF man!!

Both Kaczynski's brothers at least hated and exposed Russians aka Sowiets to the Polish public and the world. No more need to be said!

Genealogy / Mixed-Blood Poles in America (Do we count?) [118]

In Poland there is no blood right or no born right. You are a person who you feel you are and ethnicity (nationality) is a matter of your declaration.

Where did you learn that from??????

According to Polish law - to the art.34 of the Polish Constitution

W Polsce obowiązuje zasada prawa krwi wyrażona w art. 34 Konstytucji RP, który stanowi:
Quote-alpha.png
Obywatelstwo polskie nabywa się przez urodzenie z rodziców będących obywatelami polskimi

You are Polish citizen by Blood rights!!!! if born to parents or one parent who are/is Polish citizen

States, that there are also Born land rights!!! you are Polish citizen, if born or been found within Polish borders and of unknown parents or nationality or with parents but who lost or are of unknown nationality.

More here but in Polish, I couldn't find exact English version:
pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obywatelstwo

Genealogy / Funny Polish surnames [63]

The both of you are clearly struggling with your mental impairments

Why are you here ??
It's all about Poland and people involved with Poland. Who are you to judge Polish people?? Can't you find yourself better and more nicer jewish site???

Try harder!!

Naturally, nearly all animals, plants and tools are used as surnames.

There is a Polish regulation which states , if a name is kind of insulting then a person have a right to change the name in accordance to the Polish Law.

I personaly have met people with surnames as:

Mrs Cipa and family ! (Mrs ****coount)
Mr Kutasewicz and family! (Mr Cock)
Mr Hujewicz and family! (Mr Prick)

Who are these people? They don't want to change their surnames!!! What thaaa!

News / Unbelievable but, its truth. Poland is finally happy to share border with Russia [57]

That is, Poland is finally happy to share border with Russia.

I don't think so.
It'll take a very long time when Polish people could trust Russians, if ever. There is no other option as to share the border and there is no problem with it.

It doesn't make Poles happy or angry, the border was always there.

Genealogy / Polish equivalent of "Jessie"? [48]

My uncle told me that his grandmother (my great-grandmother)'s first name was Jessie

The name Jessica or Jessie/Jess in Polish is Dżesika (pronounced same as Jessica).
The Polish form appeard in Poland not long ago, just in '90.

There is no Polish equivalent to name Jessica, just a made up Polish form Dżesika, which officially can be registered in Poland as a first name.

When you look at the name's origin, Jessica is of Hebrew origin, more here: thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Jessica

could Jessie or Jesse be an 'anglicized' nickname for Czesława? Or if not what would be an equivalent Polish name that I should be looking for?

I forgot to add some more.
No, Czesława could not be Jessica or Jessie. Some of Czesława forms are: Czesia, Cześka. sometimes Sława.
There is one female name Janina (Engl. Jane) which could end up in English version as Jessie/Jesse because one of deminutives of Janina is Jasia , a little bit like Jessie.

History / What do Polish people think about Belorussians? [38]

What do Polish people think about Belorussians?

Personally, I don't have any bad opinion, while living in Australia for the last 19 years.
What I can say...we love each other!!!

There was never any noticable arguments between Poles or Belorusians or even Russians or Ukrainians!!!

Another sheep straying from the flock, losing its identity, scraps of self-respect, desperately placing his stake on "I hate Russians" field to attract the Poles. :) A typical slave psychology, whatever your antibat'ko/Russia statements are. Still can't figure out if it's funny or pathetic. I believe both.
The Russians call Polish females "Palachka"... Gosh. :)) That made my day. As if some Belorussians don't do this...

Sasha... what is palachka- as a Pole, I don't really get it!
If I say "Ruski " or "Komunista" does it have any meaning?!

Love / Are Polish men sexist? [53]

I've heard Polish men are very sexist and call women materialistic and selfish. Is this true?

Why don't you mind your school???!
At 17, you should focus on your study, not about to get laid by some white Europeans or Poles !! (my opinion from your other posts!) Do your parents know what are you looking for, while on the internet??? What a waste!
