Love / How do Polish boys feel about foreign girls? [163]

mmm.. and how polish boys feels about latin girls?, how polish boys think about latin girls? I have no idea please some help!!

Ohhhh latina ladies drive me wild!! I only wish there were more up here in canuckistan. Not only are they the most beautiful (due to their ethnic diversity) IMO but they have this passion that i simply can't explain...

Your b/f is a lucky guy:)

Yes,latin girls have big ass and are quite liberated but I will stick with slavic beauties.

Probably because you could never attract a latin beauty. Polish broads only like you for your money, you greasy turk look-a-like.

Love / How do Polish boys feel about foreign girls? [163]

Why? So if you're flirting with a girl, and you find out she's Polish you will stop?

No i would not 'stop,' but the probability of our encounter developing into something serious/long term is slim. I just don't find polish girls (and EE girls in general) attractive - both inside and out.

Love / Age difference, my Polish girl is 23 and I am 39 [42]

She just turned 23 and Im 39.

Contrats buddy, you are the envy of all men your age. I look up to you, sir. I hope that when i reach the age of 39 i will have a 23 yr old broad. Good luck and enjoy:)

Is that big an age difference usualy in Poland or?

Yes it is. But don't worry, you're a wealthy foreigner so her family will look past the age difference.

Also I would like to start a family sometime soon and when I think about how I was when I was 23 I cant imagine she would be ready for that.

Well depends. You will either be her sugar daddy or her husband. Time will tell what she wants...

stalus.iq.pl

This is a neat website where you can see before/after pics of different parts of Warszawa.

Life / Things that annoy you in Poland. [133]

think they are in the communistic era still...

It's very difficult to undo half a century of communism. A whole generation of people were born, educated and lived under this ****** up system. It will take time to transform poland to western standards.

USA, Canada / Polish Courses in Canada? [2]

Yes there are. I suggest you look for a polish cultural centre (free of charge thanks to tax payers - scandalous imo) or check some colleges in your area - many have evening classes for foreign languages (you will have to pay for this). It may be tough finding polish language courses in the maritime provinces though.

History / Polish-German alliance. [489]

Germany sunk because of shortages in manpower and equipment, Poland as an ally equals at least a milion more troops at a time when Germans did not have that milion.

I don't think this extra million soldiers or so could have helped win the war; at most it would have prolonged the war. Hitler would have made a few more "mistakes" and these additional soldiers would have perished. Maybe the outcome would have been different if Hitler didn't interfere with his generals' plans.

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

They are simply different, not rude.

This is true seanus. I am more familiar with Chinese customs though as they are a large ethnic group in Toronto (and area). I've noticed that they do not like to show any kind of emotion (always have a neutral face). They do not like to "small talk" and, like poles in poland, don't say "hello, how are you" when entering a store/restaurant. I can see how some foreigners could see poles as being rude, for many different=rude.

History / Polish mathematicians who solved the Enigma machine [86]

Polish mathematicians who solved the Enigma machine

Sadly, here in Canada we are never taught this. People learn that the British did all the deciphering and there is no mention of the Poles' role.

Love / POLISH WOMEN ARE PROMISCUOUS? DISCUSS. [153]

There is a popular belief (at least outside of Poland) that Polish women are promiscuous.

This belief exists because polish women love foreign men (for financial reasons). Men that go to poland find love much quicker than they would in their home countries.

This has been discussed before many times. No need to beat a dead horse.

Travel / Entering Poland from Germany on the A4 motorway [23]

German highways are great. I had the time of my life rippin' up and down the autobahn in a rented opel vectra. I was the fastest car on the road. Do germans not drive inexcessive speeds on these roads (200-220km/hr)?? No one ever got in my way and if there was a car in the left lane it would always move to the right if they saw me coming from behind - germans actually use their rear view mirrors. Here in canada i always have to honk or flash my lights at sunday drivers in the left lane.

I thought the a4 was already completed from the D-PL border to wroclaw...?

Genealogy / Are all Poles blue eyed and blonde? [450]

I find it interesting how many users on this forum say that poles are mostly dark haired. I travel to poland often and generally i would say that most poles' hair colours range from various shades of blonde to light-medium brown. I've noticed that many women dye their hair darker colours so maybe this is what's throwing some people off.

Genealogy / Polish surnames - Origin and Meaning [29]

I used this website it the past to get info on my surname. The webmaster used to give surname info free of charge but the site appears to have changed considerably and that option doesn't seem to be available.

Hospitality is a derivative

Maybe. The word for hospital in polish is szpital. I think in german it is something similar.

Life / Famous Polish people (that we have actually heard of) [231]

To the kraut ^^

In english literature he is known as being polish - this is what they teach here in canada at least. He (like all academics in europe at the time) published his work in latin and there is very little evidence of what language he spoke, polish, german or maybe both. Back in the late 15th c. - early 16th c. nationality was not very important yet, religion was. In poland some cities had germans who were loyal to the polish crown and some who were eventually assimilated in polish society. This happened everywhere in europe btw. It's possible that kopernik was a polonized german or maybe native german or maybe a native pole. There's no way to find out!

Language / Polish sayings [237]

Co wolno wojewodzie to nie tobie smordzie!

My dad always says this, its hard to translate though. Maybe someone can help.

Basically when someone does something (ie: eat dinner on the couch) and then you try doing the same, the person will tell you this. Maybe translates to something like this: What i can do you can't. Or just because i can do it doesnt mean u can. Bah i dunno.
