Life / Which services is Poland still waiting for? [218]

Laundretts are not that common in the UK these days and who the hell cares if there's an manky drive through MacDonnalds? There must be some REAL services that people want that dont have?

Try asking for real tea. A pot of hot water with a tea bag next to it isn't tea. The water has to be poured from the kettle on to the leaves or bag and left to brew for several minutes. Otherwise it's just coloured water.

Haha you can tell you're a Notherner, you want a brew you can stand your t-spoon up in :)

Life / Health system in Poland one of the worst in Europe: report [78]

What we should be looking at are facts and how those facts are gathered

The facts are that every health service has its down sides and it generally depends on where you live and in a lot of cases what you can afford, even in the UK! Whilst people are boasting about the NHS - all my family work within and yet both my sisters have insisted on getting their daughers vacinated against cervical cancer privately because what is offered on the NHS is poor and lacking to say the least!, they are medical experts and wouldnt let their kids be treated by the NHS, whilst that is anecdotal, its got to count for something since they work for the system we are talking about?

Postcode lottery or not the NHS is one on the wonders of the world.

No it's not, its a joke, do you know how many maternity units have been closed in the last year? Do you know how much funding has been cut, whilst untilties and food costs rise the amount the NHS are receiving has decreased! I very much doubt it, so if I were you, Id keep quiet, I appreciate your family have decent treatment, but you really have no idea.

Life / Health system in Poland one of the worst in Europe: report [78]

If i was seriously ill i'd crawl over broken glass to get back to the UK. The NHS is the greatest public health institution in the world.

I had to compose myself after laughing after reading this comment...Both my parents have had to go private in the last 5 years because of waiting lists, they were in that much pain and that ill, the wait wasnt possible. I waited 12 weeks for one session of physio for a painful shoulder injury and we don’t start screening for cervical cancer until a woman is 25 which is disgusting...We are not the greatest health institute in the world, we just happen to free (well its not I pay through my NICs contributions)...Ever heard the term postcode lottery? I have had good experiences too, I have had excellent care when its been needed

News / Poland's Economy Is Booming! The EU's Success Story? [711]

The Brits are somewhat isolated and the rest of Europe believes that their politicians are simply a nuisance like a feckin horsefly.

Isolated? We're and Island :) We have the same number of MEP seats as France we are the 4th largest contibutor (13.5%) (Poland contribute 1.5% - just to put it into perspective!) we have given £14 billion for the bail out of the PIGS because of a currency we dont have and dont want...so Id say we are slightly more significant that what you are making out...

As for Poland being a success story...ripples in the pond...it's a matter of time...

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

That seals it. I'm gonna take one for the team. Er, two, actually. Cut and un-cut. My wife will be furious. I'll report back with my findings.

LOL..I meant from a womans point of view :D You're married, evidently, she's more than happy with what she has...

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

Yes, that was the answer I was talking about... :)

One has to have the personal experience to be able to comment with an informed answer IMHO ;0)

It never became popular in the UK and its looked upon as more a religious thing here in the UK, i.e. only Jewish people and Muslims do it, culturally its just not done thing, but thats not to say there arent plenty of snipped pullys out there..I wouldnt have a clue what women in the UK think about it because Ive never asked...Personally I dont think they'd really care as long as it was fully functioning and put a a smile their face :D

because Charlotte apparently found an uncircumcised one very distasteful, and this is an indication of what all women think, because all women are like the women on Sex and the City, and that is why all women watch it, talk about it and envy the women on it their lifestyles

Its a programme, nothing more...the women who envy it and try to live by it are thicko losers who dont actually have a life...they'd also be lucky to get a glimse of a cock on screen let alone in real life!

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

Funny discussion. Just close your eyes (or turn off the lights, if you want) and then tell me if a woman is able to feel the difference between a circumcized and an uncut dick. I know the answer...

You cant tell and asthetically they dont look that different when hard...

Not sure what sex in the city has to do with all this...I watched it for years and it didnt sway me either way...iit all depends on the penis I suppose some look horrid some look nice and that goes for both cut and uncut..

Work / Brazilian in Poland needing help - ideas to find a job? [22]

Yet you were so quick to criticise him, I personally found his English excellent for a none native..better than a lot of foreigners who have lived on my island for decades!

Well, I know that I am far away from being perfect.

Not as far as you might think ;0)

But is(it's)being(been) a little bit hard to find a job

Moreover, I am with(speak) Spanish and Engishin(at an) advanced level.

the above are your only glaring mistakes - in bold are correct in italics are incorrect (but no doubt someone will tell me Im wrong ;0) )

As for a job, hotel or bar work in places that you get a lot of tourists or business travellers - you have the lang skills and Im sure the Brazilian charm..put them to use! Good luck!

Life / Teenage Pregnancy in Poland [108]

How do you know these girls are un married you judgemental twats?

My thoughts exactly and 19 is hardly a gym slip mum is it! And if they are not married, it doesnt mean they are not in a loving relationship...There are worse things in the world than some young(ish) girl having a baby out of wedlock!

In the city I live I think I've seen and met more teen-mum rather than just 'teens'...

Me thinks you are totally exaggerating! Having been to Poland 3 times I didnt notice a huge amount of pram pushing teens..that I come across in major cities in the UK...

. just guess their age next time! I know it might not be fair as it could be the teen's sibling but a bit of enquiry doesnt harm! does it!!! ;)

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind with a life want to do such a thing?

but many of them go too countries like UK to do abortion but not all of them can afford them, can they?

And where did you get this little gem from? A person has to have a fixed address and be registered with a GP to get an abortion, one doesnt simply tip up at a clinic or hospital and get it done for free...get your facts right before posting utter rubbish! If they go private they give less information but it'll cost them a considerable amount of money!

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

English girls seem to come off worst, because there is a wider range of types, and a vast, and growing, group of badly-dressed, over weight.

Whilst in Krakow a few years back I thought the women looked lovely (but not up to the standards of Italian women by any stretch of the imagination)...but in the UK, you can spot a Polish girl a mile off...cheap clothes and cheap dyed hair...sorry hun, but I see plenty more English women shopping Coast and KM and in the hair dressers getting their highlights done that are well presented than their are Polish girls doing like wise...

You seem to think you're a cut above the rest here because you're half Polish...trust me there are plenty of fugly Polish women about, living in Manchester Ive seen plenty of them!!

Work / Polish minimum wage between Luxembourg and Bulgaria [13]

£6.50 is not high...in fact its a pittance...most struggle to live on twice that hourly rate since living in the UK is expensive (my travel alone a month costs £200)

Also minimum wage is so that people can have a decent living wage even though this is often not the case...Nowt commie about that hun, its about living in a civilised country and wanting people not to live in poverty...

Work / Polish minimum wage between Luxembourg and Bulgaria [13]

Depends how old someone is on what rate they get in the UK..so the figures must be set at the higher rate, also how many hours would one have to work to earn 1200 euros a month? Seems high.

UK, Ireland / My dream about UK. Please help. [86]

Noreen, just type in "Polish Teaching Assistant" in google and it will throw up many jobs around the UK.

If it is experience you want to gain, brilliant, if it's money, then forget it, its not paid very well.

My advice would be to stay away from being a nanny, you may end up being a house keeper and general dogs body.

Good luck x

Of course, he may have a point...

How rude..I'll say no more...

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

West or Far East, educating children in Poland does not necessarily stimulate the development of
social ties with Polish people and Polish society.

Maybe because these people have no intention of staying, but you should look on the plus side, they are not a burden on the state schooling system and they are adding to the economy by paying for their childrens private education, so in short they are paying into the system and not taking very much out...Also I very much doubt Poland employs teaching assistants who will give extra help to kids who are not native Polish speakers unlike the UK, here's a few adverts that you might find interesting just a few of many that are advertised! How much do you think this is costing the tax payer????? And you want immigrants??

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

no doubt there are many places in the U.K that have experienced this with Poles.

Its a strange one, a lot of Poles seemed have settled in rather ethnic poor areas (I can only go off what I know in Manchester or at least in an area a few miles from where I live) but I know of a family who live next door to my friends mum who live in a nice 3 bed semi in a lovely area..so Id say it depends really because her neighbours are just like anyone else on the road, nice garden, well turned out little kids and speak English to their neighbours and even invite them to bbq's..he's a plaster (my mate has had work done by him) and his wife works in an office, so they're not high flying execs..but they have made it clear that they are here for good...and have integrated perfectly...some nationalities can, some dont seem to be capable.

Where do you think they keep the money? in their own country? in a neighbouring African country?.

Plenty off shore accounts to be had...plus, these type of people will always find a way of stashing it, stocks, shares, property..the list is endless really..

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

Immigration is not bad--but I don't think it would work in Poland.

Small scale immigration is fine, where people integrate and take on the host country as their own - It doesnt happen over night..slowly slowly you see areas turn into places you no longer recognise..it can happen in any developed country.

Its been tried. The people at the top just steal the money/aid given. Bokasa, Mugabi, Ghadaffi, the list is endless. If you want to end this, get rid of the Swiss Bankers.

Nothing to do with the Swiss bankers...some cultures are rotton to the core and corruption is inbred and accepted as the norm.

Life / Poland needs more immigrants and their children - which nationalities are the best? [518]

Which nationalities would you recommend for Poland?

Id say those from south east asia, they mix and do well, I know a couple of chinese / english relationships which have stood the test of time and the kids are well balanced and are doing well, and tpeople form these countries dont demand special treatment, they adapt and whilst they have their own culture they dont try and force it on others.

But of course that isnt really the answer, the answer is plain, make Poland attractive for those who left so they feel they want to return, I saw at least 3 couples in tescos last night who were Polish who had kids with them...

But schools in the countryside will dwindle, people are looking for more these days, its happened in the UK, you can look forward to over crowded cities in the future, look at London it's approaching 10 million!

Love / Woman 23, man 47 years old. What do you think about ? [162]

What about men and women who are just desperate for companionship and dont care who they latch onto..you must have female / male friends who are continuously in relationships and never actually take time to learn about themselves...are they any better? they have their motives for being with a person and it's not always because they love the person, it's because that person just happens to be there...emotional or financial..you are still taking something from someone something you dont really deserve....

Love / Woman 23, man 47 years old. What do you think about ? [162]

And a lot of the time it just means two people meet and fall in love, they just happen to have a large age gap...Most women are self-suffient these days and chose who they wish to marry because its for love, not because they found some mug to look after them..but this can happen to men in their 20s who meet women in their 20s who want a man to "sponsor" them...No better than prostitution really.

BELEIVED IN TRADITIONAL VALUES WE BE IN 1800'S

Men generally took younger wives back in those days because generally women couldnt financially support themselves.

News / Drunken Brit beats up young Polish policewoman [62]

Kinda reminds me of that incident where a drunk Paki in the UK assaulted a girl but was let off the hook because as a Muslim he is not used to dealing with the effects of Alcohol....or how 3rd world rapists in Scandinavia get off the hook for raping Scandinavian women.

Wrong, it was 2 somali females who attacked a girl and her boyfriend..Not a paki who assulated a girl....case of chinese whispers!

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2070562/Muslim-girl-gang-kicked-Rhea-Page-head-yelling-kill-white-slag-FREED.html

d proper Englihsman in a suit, tie and bowler hat driking his 5 o'clock tea tea and munching scones.

I think you mean Pims or a G&T at 5pm, tea is in the afternoon and an Englishman wouldnt "munch" either.

Agreed and the idiot should have spent some time in prison as a lesson to others.

No he should have spent time in prison if the crime warrented it....

So you are saying that the trash is innocent and two police officers are liares ?

News / American soldiers beat up in Torun, Łódź [141]

I wonder how many American soldiers got the tish kicked out of them in the UK when they were stationed here during the war, my guess would be a lot and now lets bring colour into it, American soldiers who were black weren't allowed in some bars...I appreciate times have moved on in the UK, but Harry should remember these facts.

Either the other 3 did not even know what was happening, they did not think it was serious, though their buddies deserved and ass kicking, or were so outnumbered, they "surrendered" without a fight.

Who cares? Men get in fights all the time, why is this such big news?

Let's face it, it was two foreign soldiers who got battered by two morons, possibly because one of them was paying too much attention to said thugs girlfriend...it was always going to end it tears if that was the case, men can be such dicks!

Love / E-marriage - how successful among Poles? [21]

I'm just curious but why do people resort to online dating?

For many different reasons, when one goes in out in ones 20s you mix more, when one goes in ones 30s and 40s one tends to stay in ones group becuase the majority of friends are married or are in stable relationships, as already stated its just another medium for meeting like minded people, its not for everyone but some have found thier life partners through internet dating so it cant be all that bad? As the old saying goes try it you might like it...Aparently quite a few people do it these days, after all there wouldnt be so many internet dating sites if weren't popular.

Love / Indian wife wants divorce from her Polish husband just after two months. [52]

Until your husband actually divorces you and final papers are served you are legally able to reside in the UK and able to continue your studies, you may even qualify for home student fees because you are a family member of an EU person, but to do this, you need to get your family member resident permit, which your husband will have to assist you in getting, this might be an issue if he has decided the marriage is over, in which case you might possibly be considered an overstayer because you do not have a valid visa, at present you do not qualify for retention of rights based on the marriage to a member of the EU since your marriage has only lasted for 3 months, you will not qualify for ILR on long residence since you havent been here for 10 years, basically your options are limited to say the least - if he doesnt support your permit then your only option is to go back home and apply for a student visa in order to come back and finalise your studies and even then you wont qualify to stay in the UK afterwards since PWS has closed.
