Life / Is parity the answer for Polish women? [262]

One day your son might be turned down for a job or university education simply because he's your son and not your daughter and you might change your mind? Maybe or maybe not? Who knows...

I have two girls..

The minority quota was low for the year

Sky , Im not disagreeing your point, we are almost on the same page, that can happen both ways
if you think about it.. not because of color but gender, it could have been a male less qualified but hired
because he was male or thats what the guy who was hiring at the time wanted.. not because of quotas.

Thats where I am at.. your solution was a good one, but where are
there jobs where they strictly go by experience?

its rampant now, you have to know someone to even get a job now a days.. its getting worse.. not better
and yes, I have experienced it, I will tell you privately in a message, because I dont want to air my personal
issues , but thats not going to change I did however voice my opinion on it, sometimes what is thought is
the best decisions arent and I felt this needed to be said.

I dont like these changes for the future, I think we are a sinking ship and someone needs to patch the hole
before we hit bottom like the titanic..

If it were up to me every single employment interview would be conducted in total anonymity, behind a sound proof barrier, with voices disguised so you couldn't tell if it's a he or a she, with names replaced by numbers and a gender neutral interview board.

its a good solution.. but non in existence that I know of..

What if a company needs 5001 employees? Will one of them have to dress as a man one week and as a woman the following week?

hermorphadite?

Will we force them to work in those fields

its just options dude, right now I know a friend who gets discriminated against for having one arm
and he can build homes, but construction workers have some type of joke about it..wtf.

come on.. its just opening doors.. where does the word force come in.. its not a camp, people
arent made to do anything.. chill.

I'm arguing discrimination here

Im not, Im arguing that it had to come to this because no one would mandate it.

I said I see your point, but you give no solutions either, you just keep saying its wrong, but its equally wrong
to have a qualified candidate who Is a woman get turned away because they want all male seats in parliment.

or because behind the scenes those interviewing decided who was the more qualified based on gender...

its a no win situation.. examples are given and what Im understanding is you feel its more or less discrimination
against the male population because if they are qualified they will get booted because they need more females in
parliment, but what your failing to see the other side of it..

I believe it should be a well qualified individual , male or female. And there are plenty of both.. just not enough
was done to make sure of it. now they are making sure and your hollaring discrimination, but it can be said for
both if there isnt enough.

the Polish Parliment is not a cafe or a bar.

I realize that, it was in reference to clubs.. which went off topic.

apologize , you are correct in saying , it was for4 fault.. lol

Give me one ethical reason why the woman shouldn't be allowed to have one.

Yeah,,, lets hear it.. :)

What if we don't have enough men for one field and women for another? Will we force them to work in those fields?

all its doing is opening up the doors , you have to have quailified people, its not like they are kidnapping someone who
works in a hotel and saying you have to be a miner.. cause the law says so.. its just giving people a chance to do

these jobs. take on those responsibilities otherwise given solely to whatever gender they felt they wanted to hire, now
they have to give the chance to both... and not discriminate. which is why Poland is going that route.

do you honestly think they would have 30% by now if someone didnt make it mandated? I dont.

its the only solution to otherwise ongoing argument.

I dunno man, if a group of men or women feel so inclined, they should legally be free to have a clubhouse in which membership is gender based.

it was example.. but now you are contradicting, because, if you have a clubhouse based on gender, your not
fair in the market of equality. which is what you agreed with seanus on as far as the choice.

its a yes/no, you either want equality or you dont.. all in or nothing lol

for me, I think it seperates us/ we already have different car parts, but we drive in the same car, we live by the
same standards, if we disagree, hang in seperate clubs how is this fair? some men feel more comfortable in the
company of women and some women feel more at home in the company of men, why are we pushing them to be
around their own gender if they dont want to be?

getting back to parity, I am glad Poland is changing/Evolving.

The message is the key, Patty ;)

I took skys point too , he had a point, but this is the way its been in the US, people will cry out discrimination
if there isnt enough.. so there is no choice, it has to be fair number because both sides will have issues.

You can't leave the status quo as then you will have permanent discrimination

hey thats what I said but in a dumber fashion.. lol

Things often don't just sort themselves out, esp when attitudes become entrenched and discrimination institutionalised. Tools are needed.

agreed.. there is no other solutions. they cant put up the signs anymore " NO GIRLS ALLOWED" :)

how come I have to keep fixing who I am quoting, it keeps bringing the wrong persons name
then I have to edit and go back out.

the above was Seanus I quoted not myself.

Government forced parity

so you are suggesting they are forcing vs the simple truth that they havent even bothered to vote in those
qualified because its supposed to be a " Male dominated" seat?

In the second case the man is turned down because the position "needs" another woman to comply with the mandated gender quota. This is discrimination, pure and simple.

And this has been happening for a long time.. especially in the US. if they didnt apply these laws those
qualified women like hillary wouldnt be where they are today.. Poland is just doing what other countries
already have been doing.. only this time, not giving them any choices.
because we know that the votes would lean towards the male vs female in office.

if they didnt do this, do you think women would be able to get to serve in the polish govt?

I mean come on.. maybe it appears as though a qualified man is losing his chance, but that
could also be two qualified men up for the job, one seat.. someone is going to get the boot
either way.. they arent going to fill the positions with people that dont know what they are
doing.. plenty of women lawyers in poland arent there?

ah, Zimmy - you have your words to defend you.

He will try to argue his point, instead of agreeing, I dont think I have ever seen him agree unless someone
agrees with him, then he agrees with them that he is right.

oh well. you all know, here comes more.. blah blah blah..

you're intimidated by women.

That pretty much sums it up.

Just don't offend the company I'll be with

Pretty sure you will take care of that by yourself..

Anyone wanting to meet me tonight will find me at the "Pump Room"

god only knows what the pump room stands for with you..pretty sure you will take care of that also by yourself..

your just upset cause you dont have a leg to stand on. if you compare me to him, so be it, he has
more logic in his big toe then you have in your whole fricken brain.

get off the fem kick for once!! maybe people will listen occasionally..

As I've already stated, they do it by instinct, not free will

zimmy, my dog eats his food cause he is hungry, thats instinct, thats how the animals feed, but he cuddles with me
of his own free will, I dont make him, if I made him he would bite my hand and cause me to bleed.. something that all

dogs do when they are forced , not of their own free will.

Animals dont make wrong choices, they dont create stupid shyt like humans do to get to that point..

animals dont inject drugs into each other, they dont steal money or Rob people and kill just because they can.

animals do have a free will, by choice they will walk up to you and give you their 100% trust.

of their free will they will jump on your furniture, especially after they have ate a good supper and they get
up on your clean couch and wipe their messy face all over your couch and look all innocent when you say HEY!!
what are you doing, then they look as if they have done something terribly wrong and take off running of their free
will fully knowing they are in trouble!!

yeah, dont talk about free will and animals.. and yes or no was all he asked for.. dont beat around the bush!!
what a limp-wristed, wet-behind the ear snot-nosed liberal answer. As a real man, the only decision to make is the right one. Weak-willed and feather footed individuals like yourself can turn in your man-card and stand in line with the other people looking for hand-outs and excuses in life. People like yourself might think it's a choice to do the right thing but the rest of us, the people who were brought up right, know that's not a choice but a trap.

You've shown your true colours after all. Zimmy- afraid of women having rights because he's too weak to deal with them and afraid of doing the right thing. Zimmy- a coward and a liberal.
Zimmy, you been served.. lol

USA, Canada / Do Pol/Ams celebrate Black Friday and other American festivals? [18]

Did you attend the last Black Friday festival in US?

absolutely not!! Those people are nuts!!! The sales last from now till Christmas, you can find sales
anywhere, its not rocket science.

It looks like big fun, warm, family holiday.

If yes, what were your impressions?

I stay home with my family, to many people get hurt , even this year on thanksgiving, they opened stores that
normallly were closed for the night so people could stay home and spend time with their family. I felt sorry for the
employees of these stores because I am sure the higher Managment was home with theirs enjoying a nice warm meal
and a wonderful time with family..

My Impression, I will not stop my family time to feed into the hype.. not worth it.

fridge.. that along with my brothers coming over to clean my fridge out.. lol.

Love / Should I bring gifts? - help with a Polish wedding [46]

people decided then that cash is much more practical

it is, cause they can go buy their own appliances/pay for their honey moon or whatever..

makes sense!

Insulting for village peasants who have no idea about manners, perhaps.

I tried one time to send money for genealogy , And it was refused, maybe some just dont want to feel like
they are charity case,That wasnt my intentions and I said that, but he still refused. I still wanted to do
something nice for him for helping me.. but it was just a nice gesture, he said he would even fly here and
fly back with me if i ever came to poland.

sometimes its not culture, but pride, that isnt something exclusive to polish, maybe to
people in general, cause they dont want to look bad, opression, depression, handouts call it what you want
even in weddings, if they choose gifts so be it..

I think those who make enough money, dont want people to think otherwise of them, and you know nice gestures
can be mistaken for sterotypes ( people thinking all polish are poor) or so they think this is what might be thought
of them because of the war, their economic situation before.

but others a fine tuned to give when you recieve.. you dont feel right by not giving something for their help..

so anyways, my two cents,, if it makes sense.. lol

Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Well, I think that people dont try hard enough to put theirselfs in the shoes of others.

you can change someone elses reactions just by your reactions.

an example.. if someone is having a shytty day, they woke up and spilled coffee on their lap, then they went into
work and the boss was yelling at everyone, then they were sent to the register that didnt work properly..

hence, you will have a extremely upset cashier who doesnt want to help you, she just wants to go home, and soak
her feet and scream.. not everyones day goes as planned..

if you work with people, you notice these things.. its same in a hospital, you can change that mood if you really want to
but if you respond the same as the person who is talking to you, you wont get far.

one example for me was a lady confused, she was ready to kickbox all of us.. I lowered the tv volume, then talked softly
to her, in ten minutes she was calm, she was smiling and she started to even talk normally like she knew her surroundings

even simple changes can make a difference in every encounter. I can say, I have had to check myself in my own
reactions and sometimes its more self discipline rather then out bursts that make the difference in the reactions of people
around you.

:)

Love / Polish girls and American boys (who don't even know where Poland is located ;) [36]

you know whats funny about this whole post is that you both like each other but your not accepting the things that
come with each other.

you both need to open up a little more or it wont work at all. he might not know much about your culture, but it sounds like

you dont know much about his either.. thats what Love is all about .. learning about each other and accepting. if you cant
get past all of it then you should not date outside your country.

Either way I hope for the best for both of you :)
