Work / What would be a good salary for an MBA graduate in Poland? [27]

You would have somewhat around 8000 PLN netto pr. month. +/- a few hundreds.

And you could rent a 2 bedroom apartment lets say 6-70 square meters all included in katowice for 3-3500 PLN pr. month.

Lets say you go to a nice Italian Restaurant, you would pay 100 PLN for a good meal which would include antipasta and a main meal + a glass of wine.

If you choose an indian restaurant instead, you could half that!

From my perspective, this is a good salary, but not with your experience and education!
On the other hand you can live a very good live in Katowice for 5000 PLN after everything is paid, but not if you also have to provide for your wife!

If i were you id really consider this offer, because Poland is an amazing place to live (coming from a guy from Ohio) but then again before you decided to relocate remember to take everything into account.

Best of luck though!

Actually all my estimates are a bit high,

So you would probably have more like 6000 PLN pr month after all taxes apartment etc. is paid.
Which would be enough to support your wife also, and live a good life.

Travel / Need advice where to visit/party in Poland..Krakow? [20]

Hi,

There are plenty of places for both good food and nightlife.

When you come go eat at Pod Wawelem! Amazing place, very close to the main square (towards kazimierz) its very cheap and they serve huge portions! Also mamma mia serves really good pizzas and other italian dishes.

If you are looking for bars just go to Kazimierz, there are plenty, especially alchemia is really cool, but also zaraz wracam is worth a visit (this is my favorite place)

If you are looking for clubing just go to Rynek (main sqaure) there a plenty of clubs. But if you like Dubstep/Hip hop/Rock go to this amazing club called Fabryka, its a bit outsite the main square in podgorze, but it is the best club in town!

Well lets say you come here just to get wasted and have a good time, then you would spend lets say 250 PLN pr. night your here (includes food, and all you can drink throughout a night)

So if we excluded hostels, flight, etc. but only talk about the living expanses for the few days of binge drinking, id say you would all have a freaking awesome time for 500 PLN a pop. Which is suppose is only around 100 punds.

Life / Moving to Poland Part-Time (probably Katowice) [56]

If i were you i would not want to move to Katowice. Its like PIP said an idustrial hole, with rough neigberhoods and not in my opinion a very pleasent place for expants.

If I were you id find a job somewhere first, and then decided where to move afterwards.

Travel / Hard Candy - Krakow, Poland - reviews? [131]

I really think its sad that Krakow still has these places!

They had a Hard Candy in Tallin in Estonia for some time also, they did the exact same thing. Case is, in Tallin atleast when the local autorities was informed they shut down the joint.

And thats exactly what they should do with the one in Krakow, it hurts the city's credibillity pretty hard having such scum places.

Why is it that polish people on this forum ALWAYS has to bash so hard on tourist posting about bad experinces in Poland?
Y'all make it sound like it was their own fault, even though people sometimes just enter a random bar to get a brew and thats it!

There is something wrong with moral of some people on this forum!

Life / Polish people are the most ignorant people in the world! [331]

Who the f are you to talk?
You come from America who are the most patriotic c*cksuckers on earth.. Just because 90% of the girls in your country are heavily obese, and you travelled to Poland and couldnt get yourself a piece of tail, doesnt mean you have to hate on this country!

Your post really upsets me because basically none of this is true!

Real Estate / May you confirm that Podgórze (Kraków) is a great area to live in? [13]

) As this park is located in Podgórze, between my office and the market square, I was like "Man, it's the ideal place to search".

This would be the ideal place for you to search.
The area around stare podgorze is very nice, and your really close to great green areas, and yet very close to your work (public transportation is excellent) and only a 10 min tram ride to the center.

I'd say pretty much perfect location according to your criteria's.

Love / Egyptian guy with Polish girl - is it normal? [18]

It just sounds like a typical Polish girl to me.
It's impossible for them somehow to make up there mind, and really there is nothing you can do about it.

Only thing that actually might just help you is to ignore her for awhile, and then she might come running back to you (that's my experience)

Best of luck buddy, you sound like guy with good intentions.

Life / Moving to Poland Part-Time (probably Katowice) [56]

I did some simulations per month and got this:

I would say quiet realistic. Though your car expenses are quiet high? Are we talking since you need to spend at least 200 EUR pr. month to pay it off or?

Love / Should I forgive my cheating Polish girlfriend? [73]

I finally realise there is no way back and I try to move on with my life now. With a tear in my eye I have to accept that I lost the love of my life and will probably never connect with someone like that again.

After following this thread for a while, and reading about the obvious deep love you had for this girl, I am really proud of you!

Its tough buddy, but she ain't worth, and she might never learn better but if she does like you wrote, she will cry her eyes out!

I've been in similar situation, and it takes time but you will eventually move on and you will feel better with another person.
Best of luck, and congrats on finally making the right decision.

Travel / Hard Candy - Krakow, Poland - reviews? [131]

I'm still surprised this joint is open. It's been commonly known for years now that this is the biggiest scam place in Krakow.

They must have some good ties with the local PD.

Real Estate / Best area in Krakow to live? [43]

Why Krowodrza? Seems pretty far away from city center and the action. What's up there?

It is, I have no idea why ppl say Krowodrza.
Kazimierz though is the place to live, assuming you can find a decent apartment as many of the buildings are quiet old.

Anyways, I'm early 20's single etc. been living in Kaz for 1,5 years I'd never move to any other part of Krakow!

USA, Canada / Getting job in U.S. with Polish degree [14]

will look like for me with a Polish degree and how potential employers might view it.

In my opinion this is a huge strength.
The school might not have been close to as good as many American business schools, but going abroad taking your MBA shows that your a go getta who can get sh*it done on his own.

Huge American corporation off course will not take this into consideration, but who want's to work for them anyways?
Start out with some smaller business to gain some experience.
