Genealogy / Looking for any and all information on Dabrowski/Dombrowski from Poland [88]

In my visits to Poland, I only came across a few people with my name, going all over Poland, and checking phone books.

My Grandparents came from near Warsaw, my grandfather came from Broszka, and was born May 30, 1875, and grandmother came from Piotrowice, and was born July 10, 1887.

When on one of my trips to Poland, I did check all the church's around these areas, and was told by the Priest, they had no record, and either, the records were burnt in fires, or just missing.

I have been looking for several years, and tried on a few visits without any luck so far.

I only have a bit of information on my grandparents, but if you can help.

Grandfather, Ferdynand Dabrowski/Dombrowski born May 30, 1875 in Broszka, Poland, passed away Dec. 14, 1954, Gary, Indiana

Grandmother, Maryanna Dabrowski/Dombrowski, could be M/N Grabowski, born July 10m 1887 in Piotrowice, Poland, passed away August 1, 1954, Gary, Indiana.

This is all I have, I have both death records, but does not show place of birth of parents information.

Looking for information on my Grandparents, Dabrowski/Donbrowski

I have been searching for any and all information on my Grandparents, Ferdynand and Maryanna Dabrowski/Donbrowski, who passed away well living in Gary, Indiana, in 1954.

They I am told, came from Poland after 1900, but don't have a correct date. They, again, I am told came from some small villages just south of Warsaw.

Are there any Dabrowski/Dombrowski out there who can help, or anyone with some new ideas to try. I have tried everything I could find.

Grandmother had family in the area of Detroit, Michigan, with you prior to marriage, name, Grabowski.
I am open to any new ideas. Please try and help me, since my Grandparents passed away when I was just young, and they spoke broken English, and I no Polish.

I have tried on two visit, to Poland, to check church records, and was told that they did not have anything.
I hope to see your help soon, since I am not getting any younger, and want to pass this infrormation on to my children and grandchildren, so day.

I used Lot airlines a few times, out of Chicago to Warsaw, and they gave great service, good food, and lots of drink. They were also on time, or early, each time.

Now I have heard that they are owned by the Germans, is this true?

Many old timers in Poland, I find, in my visit to Poland, still have a strong hate for Germany as well as Russia, and I can understand why. Plus I find, the Germans who travel, act as they are better than the rest of us. I have tried to befriend many a German traveler, and still find them to be hard to understand. I drive a German car, and have a German dog, but still, myself don't understand, why they act this way, to all.

If the Polish do not like the USA, why are there so many now living here, and many more still working on the move? This President does not care at all for Poland, or her fine people, but we the Americans do care. The Polish come here legal, and many others just walk over, and are given everything for free.

I have checked the church they, my grandparents went to, even had mass when they passed away, and they can't find anything that can help. Poor records keeping, I guess.

I will keep working on this, and if you have the names of the villages shown that they came from please pass it along.

My Grandparents came alone, as best I know.
They did live until they passed away, in Gary, Indiana.
Grandfather may have used Fred, I am told, but not sure.
I did give the priest cash first, even before, I asked for his help, and he did take us into his place where the records were kept, and did not find anything.

If you have any ides, I will try.

The world needs more people like you who care. Yes I was a Private Investigator, here in the U.S.A. but Poland is a long way away, and I have been working on this for a long time. And belive it or not, some times, when I worked, I hit a dead end, but could go out and talk with people, and that I can't do from here. I did try it when in Poland, but needed much more time. I never was good at computer searches.

There is no reason to dislike Poland or her great people, I love them and Poland, very much, and am proud my Grandparents came from there, many years ago, but had to due to the wars.

If I could, I would love to live in Poland, and have visited it often and hope to make more trips there, when I can.
