Love / Polish men are complete doormats (especially after they get married) [125]

I'm probably gonna rock a few boats with this discussion but here goes.....

This observation comes not from me but by my friends from Eng who visited me BTW

Why are the majority of Polish men complete doormats (I think the word is ************** whipped) in polish). I believe in treating people the right way but Polish men take it too far. I am talking about the situation when a Polish man gets married, that's the last his friends see of him or when a man is out with his other half her handbag becomes too heavy so the husband has to carry it. I even heard a man talking on the phone the other day to his wife/gf. He was almost begging her "kotku, nie mow tak, prosze cie" it was so pathetic.

I might be over-generalising here but the vast majority of my wifes friends are like this. My wife stopped dating Polish men because they became too boring for her, they did everything she wanted them to.

Girls, are you brought up in this country expecting men to be like this?
Men get some balls and stand up to her. Try it once, she might even like it.

Food / Polish Pizza !! The best in the world? [330]

Polish pizza generally contains no tomato sauce at all and is rather bland. If u want good pizza new york is the place. I ate the best pizza ever there and it was made in an italian restaurant.

Tell me is there naything that Poland does that isnt the best in the world? Someone has gotta agree with me that kebabs made in a Polish way are disgusting.(PLease note my avoidance of the term POLISH KEBABS - they are simply not Polish)

Life / If I could introduce something from my country into Poland, I would.... [175]

If Poland had all of those things it wouldn't be Poland anymore. I would agree to a few I suppose like the chip shops lol
..Polish police seem better than british police from what I have seen. I felt sorry for a guard in Krakow as he was attacked by a British drunk when I was there. Also I tried Steak when I went and was brilliant just how I wanted it.

The Polish police service is full of brutes and kids just out of pampers. They are terribly inefficient and I dread to think wht will happen when the Euro 2012 comes to Poland

But there are shitty areas of Polish towns too. The Nowy Port area of Gdansk is incredibly filthy for example. The biggest problem in Poland, which doesnt exist on a great scale in UK, is dog shit. I get really angry when I see dog owners watching their dogs shit then walking off. Some areas of Gdansk and sopot really stink of shit. If puz wants proof i can take pics.

Life / nasza-klasa.pl - If you looking for your classmates or friends in Poland [95]

Firstly, whats the point of a non pole joining Nasza Klasa?

Secondly, if i didnt keep in touch with these ppl after school there's a reason for it. The guys who I considered friends at school are still friends now. Some ppl just like to have the longest friends list im sure.

of the Poles i
You didnt understand what I was saying. The people i want to keep in touch with I have done but I couldnt care less what happens to those I didnt keep in touch with. Most of the Poles I have talked to dont keep in touch with 80% of the ppl in their NK contact lists.

I remember when Freinds reunited was free, now u have to pay and its so niot worth it. I can see NK going down this route.

Life / Price of cigarettes in Poland? [192]

Does anyone know how many you can legally take back anyway ?

Before I became a legitimat businessman, I used to smuggle 2 suitcases full of fags home every summer from Poland. How? On the bus. I always madw sure my suitcase was put at the bottom of the bus and was never checked in 4 years. I bought 200 cigs in Gdansk (L&B) for around 15 quid and sold them in the UK for 35 quid. Took them to factory canteens and couldnt sell them quick enough.

Good business if anyone wants to get into it, although the 24 hr bus journey is a nightmare

Life / Things that annoy you in Poland. [133]

Polish ppl love to talk in superlatives, 'the best', 'the longest', 'the most ......' etc without showing any evidence of any of this

UK, Ireland / Buying a Polish vehicle in the UK [28]

Unless you are intending to live in Poland, it would be absolute insanity to buy a Polish registered car to drive in the UK. Are you one of these who post to ask stupid questions just for the sake of it??/ Buy a right hand drive car and be done with it.

@chudgell
Still a bit weird as you wouldnt have a chance of selling it in UK and itd be alot of wk to sell it in Poland. I dont see why you are even considering it. Just tell this person theyll have to pay for the new car without part-ex

Travel / Traffic roundabouts not common in Poland? [13]

this is really random, but is it true that there are not really any round-a-bouts in poland but there is one thats the largest in Europe or something??

You gotta be a yank!!! Here we go again, talking in superlatives about Poland. Tell us where this biggest roundabout in Europe is.

Poles have no idea about lane discipline on roundabouts

Travel / Traffic roundabouts not common in Poland? [13]

True question....

What are the finer points that seem to be missed?

Well a roundabout is desgined to haeve 2 lanes, one for going left and straight on, and one for going anything past straight on. Poles dont understand this notion and also signalling on r'bouts here is abysmal

Our roundabouts work as follow. If you are on the outer lane turn right or go straigth.
Never go|turn left ;)

Obviously you never go left, just stating a pint that theres absolutely no lane discipline here.

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

Do you eat the poultry ones or the pork ones? The poultry ones are slightly better but a good bit more expensive. I also like the internet connections in Poland. They seem to be that much better than in the UK. My parents have a rotten deal compared to me.

Again seanus that depends where u live. Just a little outside the city I live, Gdansk, the internet is almost non existent and ppl have to make use of wireless dongles and the signal is crap.

In Cardiff, where my mum lives we have a very fast cable connection through virgin media.

Unlike you to generalise Seanus

Love / Polish men are complete doormats (especially after they get married) [125]

My condolences.

I am not one of those, and my wife has got used to it now.

Besides, some women here want to rule the roost. They play second fiddle to no-one.

Seanus, u got sth here. Alot of men are doormats here cos theyh have women WAAAAAYYYYY above their league and they will do anything to keep them. I very often see stunning ladies walking had in hand with small bearded spotty guys and wonder if she is wearing her contavt lenses.

Food / Taste of food in Poland vs other countries [186]

Im not talking about unpasturised Dtaylor but the long life **** (which is available in the UK, ecxept noone buys it). My mum still ahs the local dairy leaving 3 pints of milk outside the door every day. The cream collects on the foil top and i used to love licking it off. Thats milk mmmmmmmmm

Juice - tastes like cordial, not juice, but of course there is one shop in vicinity which sells one variety in glass bottles that is actually good.

Forgot to mention this one. She doesnt know what shes talking about. Juice is much better in the UK than in Poland, it is tull of the nektar crap here. I love my OJ with pulp and tescos does a nice own brand one
