Travel / Had the most unwelcoming experience in all my travels in Poland, very unfriendly people. [115]

You're from the Netherlands and most likely under forty-:) Hard not to judge any people based on even one awful experience. Although my all too brief sojourn to Poland was but umpteen years ago on vacation as well, I was still able to look past much inconvenience. We even plan to return one day. Regarding the Netherlands, I in fact found the Poles far more welcoming than the Dutch, and in Utrecht I even spoke some of the language, at the time far better than Polish! Try not to let a few bad apples spoil the batch.

...or: This, the MOST UNKINDEST cut of all. (Hamlet Act II Scene I, if memory serves me correctly).

It was common coin in Shakespeare's time to speak not only in double negations, but in double superlatives as well-:)

History / Why Was D-Day So Significant for Poland ? [266]

@Novichok, ships and countries among the educated classes are typically referred to in the feminine-:) @Maf, even the Allies couldn't work miracles.

First, read the facts folksies, then comment! Countries are often referred to as"she", at least in standard English. Wrong on both counts LOL

The West saved Poland's butt and here but for the grace of G_d went Germany along with the rest of the Axis! The Americans were far from perfect, but many other nations might never even wanted to make diplomatic amends with the enemy, either erstwhile or current-:)

UK, Ireland / Are the Polish in the UK actually rude or bitter? [38]

Well Ioshi, from which garden spot on the globe do YOU hail, pray? You might be interested to know that Germany and Poland have some of the most beautiful landscapes anywhere in Europe.

Germans typically cherish their personal space aka "Privatsphaere" with near zealous ardor! Perhaps the Poles along with certain other groups are the same.

Language / Polish was chosen the HARDEST LANGUAGE in the world to learn... :D [1558]

Ck. out the sophisticated dialogue from classic Hollywood movies for ORDINARY Americans in the '4O's through the 6O's and tell me English is so simple. Our morphology may be transparent, our lexic and idiom?? Don't think so-:) Forget about tour orthography.
