Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1400]

Pawian,I noticed on the first page that you have fish heads there. In Alaska they have a meal they call stink heads. They take raw fish heads and bury them in the ground and let them ferment for about a month;then they dig them up and eat them as is.My brother swears by them,he absolutely loves this meal,I on the other hand wouldn't dare dream of eating them.Would you try them?

History / Warsaw Rising 1944 - National Disaster or Triumph of Spirit ? [515]

TheOther,I don't mean the world;I was referring to the U.S..I agree that in the future people won't look at it the same.My statement was in reference to the Warsaw uprising and that in the U.S. it is not as known to Americans for said reason. In Europe I'm sure this is not the case.

History / Warsaw Rising 1944 - National Disaster or Triumph of Spirit ? [515]

Pawian,as I had said on a different thread;Don't know how I did that lol.American civilians weren't as directly affected by the war as in Europe. It's sad to me that many of our young are ignorant of what the Warsaw rising was.I feel that this can contribute to the impact of the war leaving our collective memory.Make sense?

InWrolclaw,I'n Boston we have he T,subway, trolleys and commuter rail. The T has it's own police department.Would the trams be patrolled by regular city police,or does Wroclaw have a type of transit authority?

Life / What's wrong with Poland? I don't see anything. [121]

FUZZYWICKETS,you have a point.I'm pretty sure that if I was in Poland I wouldn't have to keep tape over my mouth for fear of getting pinched if I said something that could be construed as bad by the Gov.

Life / What's wrong with Poland? I don't see anything. [121]

Ziemowit, very succintly put,I absolutely agree.I've never been to Poland, but I would guess it is like the U.S. in terms of personal freedoms;or am I wrong?

Law / The right to own guns: would you support such legislation in Poland? [2237]

Jasondmanzk,The guns were used when needed right?True the constitution is not the bible,so I guess you could use that logic to take away

any right?100,000 people affected every year, how many of them are actually shot?Any deaths gun related is tragic,no doubt, but 100,000
out of 380 mil is not a large number compared to the size of the population when compared to other causes of death by violent nature.

Take a look at the stats for stabbing, bludgeoning and strangulation deaths in a year,I think you will be surprised.People have killed people

since day 1 with or without guns.I am not selective when it comes to the rights in the constitution,I believe in the right to own guns, same as

the right to freedom of speech.
