News / Lech Walesa urged to "reduce Russia" to 50 million people [366]

that commit wars and atrocities out of idea of some exceptionalism, and assumption of being above the law and rules, and some sort of mission

You seem to forget how much death and persecution the Soviet Union and it's communism unleashed upon this planet. But, yes, there are some similarities in Russian and American outlook which is why the US is hated in some parts of the world. So don't be surprised that Russia is hated in some parts of the world too.

dress your nazi s.hit in silk-you not fooling anyone here

Are you talking to Morawiecki or to me? You do realise that it's a quote from Morawiecki, right? lol

Ukrain has done anything but enact normal national language promotion measures (as has happened in very many european countries at some time or other)

Yeah, and even though in Russia there are, in theory, other official languages in various republics, the reality is that the education is mainly taking place in Russian. A quote from Wikipedia:

"Every year the Russian Ministry of Education and Science publishes statistics on the languages used in schools. In 2014/2015 the absolute majority (13.1 million or 96%) of 13.7 million Russian students used Russian as a medium of education."

And in Karelia (a historical province of Finland) the only official language is Russian.

News / Lech Walesa urged to "reduce Russia" to 50 million people [366]

@gregy741, don't be an idiot, or don't pretend to be one. Noone said that "russian cultural world must be destroyed". Morawiecki said that "Russkij mir" ideology should be rooted out through de-Putinization of Russia. It's all in that first Polish article I linked to. Just read it.

A quote from that article (from Morawiecki):

"Putin's 'Russkij Mir' ideology is an analogue of the 20th century communism and Nazism. It's an ideology with which Russia is justifying imaginary rights and privileges for it's country. It's also the basis for the story of a 'special historic mission' of the Russian nation. In the name of this ideology Mariupol and tens of Ukrainian cities have been razed to the ground"

its like listening Hitler talking about jews.

You mean listening to that Russian guy on Russian state TV, surely? You know, that one who said that 2 mln Ukrainians should be killed?

carving donbas out of ukraine, is act of defense of russian people from vicious murders and criminals.

Lies, lies. Noone needed to be protected, defended in Crimea, etc. I'd like to remind you, again, that it all started with Crimea - Russia invaded Crimea in February 2014. Why? Was something bad happening to people in Crimea? No. But it's a strategic territory and that's why Putin wanted it.

where is this hypocrisy?

Because part of Ukraine is historical Polish lands. Of course, majority of Poles were deported from there by Soviets or were either massacred or fled UPA's ethnic cleansing. So, you could say that there's no reason for Poland to take those lands, since few Poles live there nowadays. But Russia is also invading lands where majority of people don't want their forced version of "Russkij mir". Russia tried to take Kyiv. Russian army is occupying, for example, Kherson, where many people were protesting against the Russian invasion and were waving Ukrainian flags. So why are they taking lands where they are not wanted? Who are they "saving" there?

And how did Russia "save" Mariupol by razing it to the ground and by killing it's people? Could you explain this to me, gregy741? The lives of people in Mariupol are somehow less important than of those living in Donetsk and Luhansk republics?

And Russian language wasn't banned in Ukraine. Stop lying, gregy741.

News / Lech Walesa urged to "reduce Russia" to 50 million people [366]

how was is?" russian world must be destroyed" ?

No, he didn't say that. He meant the "Russkij mir" ("Russian world") ideology:

"»Russkij Mir« is a cancer that should be rooted out". The prime minister about the criminal Putin's ideology:

polskieradio24.pl/5/1223/Artykul/2955486,%C2%BBRusskij-Mir%C2%AB-to-rak-trzeba-go-wykorzenic-Premier-o-zbrodniczej-ideologii-Rosji-Putina

About the concept of "Russkij mir" in Wikipedia:

pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russkij_mir_(ideologia)

Quotes by Morawiecki:

gov.pl/web/primeminister/prime-minister-mateusz-morawiecki-during-the-strategic-ark-conference-i-call-for-isolation-of-the-president-of-russia

"Criminals must be judged, and the Russian World ideology must be defeated and eliminated," assessed the Prime Minister.

world-today-news.com/polish-pm-wants-to-destroy-russian-world-kremlin-responds-with-lightning-speed/

"Russia's world is a cancer that poses a deadly threat to the whole of Europe. Therefore, it is not enough to support Ukraine in its military struggle with Russia. We must completely eradicate this monstrous new ideology," he said.

And just like in case of Wałęsa, Morawiecki's words were a reaction to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and to what happened in Bucha, Irpin, etc. It's because Russia justifies invading and dismembering other countries with this "Russkij mir" ("Russian world") ideology:

dgap.org/en/events/russkiy-mir-russian-world

poland dismembering ukraine would be awful thing to do.

LOL
You're such a stupid hypocrite, gregy741 :D

i remember you quoting zhirinowskis people . didnt you?zhirinowskis - didnt stop you to associate all russian people with this madman words

I didn't associate that guy with all Russian people. I was showing his "performance" as an example of what's going on on Russian state TV - how far gone it is.

News / Lech Walesa urged to "reduce Russia" to 50 million people [366]

@Velund, you must be talking about Putinists :/

In case someone didn't read the whole article and thought that Lech Wałęsa suddenly turned into an advocate of mass murder - this is what the article reports he said:

'at present it is necessary to change the Russian political system or even "organize an uprising of the peoples" in Russia. Walesa expressed the opinion that "global security" can only be ensured by "the dismemberment of today's Russia.'

disgusting

It isn't anymore disgusting than what Russia is doing to Ukraine. So, gregy741, when Kali steals someone's cow then it's OK, but when someone steals Kali's cow then it's "disgusting"? lol

I am not advocating for this, btw, but from moral standpoint Russia totally deserves getting "dismembered", not only because of what it did and is doing to Ukraine, but also because of what Russia has done in the past to other countries. What's worse, Russia hasn't been only "dismembering" other countries, but it's been also stealing their lands and even people.

he accurately represent view of most poles here.

How do you know that? Did you make a poll?

only proves that Russia was right to invade Ukraine, to defend Russian people.

Firstly, his words are a reaction to the invasion of Ukraine, you dumbass:

ukrainetoday.org/2022/07/10/former-polish-president-walesa-urged-to-reduce-the-population-of-the-russian-federation-to-50-million/

Quote:

'Even if Ukraine wins this war, in five years we will have the same thing, and in ten years we will see the emergence of another Putin. If changing the country's political system is impossible, only the dismemberment of today's Russia will ensure world security," Walesa said.'

Secondly, even if he said that (and he didn't) before the invasion, how on Earth views of a former Polish president, who's famous for talking before thinking, would justify invading Ukraine? Gregy741, do you have no shame, no brain, no nothing??

I'd like to add that some members of this forum - Russians, Serbs and even one neo-Nazi Pole, I think, proposed Poland to join in Russia in the "dismemberment of today's Ukraine". I hope you find it "disgusting" too, gregy741? :)

@Novichok, supporting Ukrainian refugees means also supporting heroic Ukrainians. Those heroic Ukrainians say so themselves.

I support "heroic" Ukrainian idiots with a death wish more because I pay more in taxes that pay for guns than you do.

Life / Aquarium fish in Wroclaw [4]

The best place to buy both fish and stuff for aquariums is usually a shop called "sklep akwarystyczny" in Polish (aquarium shop), although you can sometimes buy aquarium fish also in bigger zoological shops (sklep zoologiczny). Here's a thread about aquarium shops in Wrocław (it's from 2018 though):

nano-reef.pl/forums/topic/99266-sklepy-akwarystyczne-wroc%C5%82aw/

Or, alternatively, any good and active forum for aquaria, even in Polish so that I can search there?

In Polish it's "forum akwarystyczne". This one seems to be quite active (Warsaw forum):

fawa.pl/

Here you can post/ask about shops from outside of Warsaw:

News / Lukashenko - removes graveyard - AK resistance fighters [51]

historia.interia.pl/aktualnosci/news-nowy-sacz-ekshumowano-szczatki-28-czerwonoarmistow,nId,1865342

This is the only case (Nowy Sącz) from the links posted by you in which Soviet soldiers' remains were exhumated and moved to a cemetery and it happened only because Russians agreed to that.

It doesn't work like that!

It does to normal people.

and now their sons are getting this Polish sh*it here, mindless hate, and "fry orcs".

Their sons didn't fight the Nazis. Their sons are invading a neighbouring country with Goebbels-like propaganda on their lips.

News / Lukashenko - removes graveyard - AK resistance fighters [51]

@Cojestdocholery, razing to the ground a cemetery of soldiers who were fighting against the Nazis shows to the world just how inhumane, amoral and unhinged Lukashenko is. I don't think even his Russian masters can support something like that, considering that their propaganda is based on claims about fighting the "Nazis". So, he's embarrassing himself in front of the world, not Poland.

Of course Poland should react, but in such a way as to not give Lukashenko what he wants, while leaving him looking like a deranged savage :)

Your thinking is wrong here!

How do you know?

News / Lukashenko - removes graveyard - AK resistance fighters [51]

Why? He is clearly escalating conflict with Poland.

Yes, he is and if he's doing that it means he has a purpose in that, so the smart and logical thing to do would be not to give him what he wants.

Ps in B don't like it? Move to Poland or deal with it.

So, why aren't you telling Russians to move from Ukraine to Russia?

wish we had a guy like this here.

I doubt it - you wouldn't move from PRL to the US then. Belarus under Lukashenko's rule is one big PGR.

News / Lukashenko - removes graveyard - AK resistance fighters [51]

@Novichok, then according to your logic, people born in Eastern and Southern Ukraine are Ukrainians and if they are still "Russians" their Russian asses should have been taken to the curb a long time ago :)

because I can't explain it in any other way...

Or... it was supposed to provoke Poles to make some kind of retaliation for this act of barbarism, so it could be shown on Belarusian TV with a proper commentary: "See, Poles hate Belarus and Belarusians for no reason at all..." If that's the case we shouldn't allow ourselves to get provoked by this. Perhaps Lukashenko is trying to put a wedge between Poles and Belarusians...

Should we start shooting at his people breaking Polish border fence?

Bad idea, I think. Lukashenko would probably want that. We should keep our heads cool.

News / Lukashenko - removes graveyard - AK resistance fighters [51]

It's unbelievable that it really happened, but it did... Here's a photo of the Polish charge d'affaires in Belarus lying flowers and candles on that site after the graveyard got razed to the ground:

twitter.com/PLinBelarus/status/1544382361646899208?s=20&t=VQjmApCHifPT8BFnob0TTA

A former ambassador of Belarus in Poland said that it was an act of barbarism completely against the Belarusian tradition.

Incomprehensible... It must've been an act of pure hate on Lukashenko's part or reckless, blind revenge, because I can't explain it in any other way... Especially that there are Poles still living in Belarus - how they've must've felt? We respect the graves, even of our enemies...

not just hate and sadness, but also some call to action to be better in the present. To work hard harder towards a better future.

Why don't you make such an appeal to your fellow Russians and to yourself, you imperialistic creep.

Another music video for people that think Russia is like China or North Korea.

China and North Korea aren't the same, the latter is much worse. Either way, Russia is heading in that direction and not in the opposite one.

@Velund, you moron, if you call what Ukrainians did in Donbas "GENOCIDE" (lol), then what are you going to call what you did to Chechnya and what you're doing now to Ukraine?? "SPECIAL OPERATION"?? You have no shame!

Even one is too many.

Clearly it isn't - not for Putin, not for you, not for Bobko and not for majority of Russians, because you want this to go on. So - how many more Ukrainians are you ready to kill and maim? How many are you ready to torture? How many are you ready to send for years to labour colonies? How many are you ready to deport from their homes? HOW MANY, VELUND??

And revenge will be on the heads of those who caused this.

I wish, but I doubt that Putin will ever pay for this. And whatever the price you and your Putinazi ilk will pay, it most probably won't be enough.

Polish "neo-schlachta" should prepare, right after their masters...

Oh, we're getting ready, don't you worry.

Will you discuss with Zelensky the method of his execution? ;)

You have no right to execute a democratically elected president of a foreign country.

There is no such thing as monolithic Ukrainian nation. There is three major regions that have very different interests.

That you've managed to unify against one enemy - Russia. Bravo! 🤦

But already unsuccessful with this ideal outcome.

Yes, very unsuccessful. So, how many Ukrainians are you ready to kill to achieve your goals? How many would be "too many"? Is there even such a limit in your f*cked up Russian minds?

@Bratwurst Boy, exactly, that's one of the things that I meant when I wrote that Ukraine isn't Chechnya.

The rest of Ukraine will be much harder...

You mean you'll have to kill, imprison, torture and terrorise more people. Aha.
So, how many Ukrainians are you going to kill? That psycho on Russian state TV said that it should be around 2 mln people. Do you agree with this number? Or do you think it would be less? Or more?

News / Poland, Western Europe and the USA - What if Ukraine disappears from the map? [144]

WHY????

I think Cojestdocholery is right - Putin & Co probably are or were convinced that they can destroy and terrorise Ukraine to such an extent that Ukrainians will give up, like the Chechens did. Russians have a lot of experience with terrorising their own people and others. It seems they have it in their blood and maybe they're thinking it will work this time too. I think they're wrong though. Ukraine isn't Chechnya.

There are also those like Velund who seem to be completely deluded and don't know and don't understand the Ukrainian nation:

Russians and Ukrainians is de-facto one nation

So, once external provocators will be exterminated, we will agree on a conditions of coexistence.

As we can see such delusions and lack of understanding of another nation are a very dangerous thing, because they have just led to a full scale war.

Love / Toxicity of SOME Polish Mothers Towards Their Daughters [36]

Love / Toxicity of SOME Polish Mothers Towards Their Daughters [36]

@Cojestdocholery, I've seen, heard and read too many stories like this and I know all the patterns, signs, etc. It looks like that it's usually daughters of such Polish mothers that are more affected by those toxic relations, than sons are. From what I've noticed it's easier for sons to cut that umbilical cord.

This is what I hear in response when I ask if she's ready to spend the 2022 Xmas with MY family:

lol
Even we would sometimes spend Christmas or Easter with my father's parents. Very rarely, but still... Nowadays I kind of understand why my mother maybe wasn't so eager to spend holidays with my other grandparents - her mother-in-law was also a toxic person lol ;/

Has your girlfriend met your family already?

It shows.

How? From what I've noticed Polish men often have pretty much "wywalone" as far as family matters are concerned, so my father's attitude isn't that unusual.

Love / Toxicity of SOME Polish Mothers Towards Their Daughters [36]

We call them, "Man haters" or "misandrists".

Not really, they're the exact opposite from your point of view. They're usually those traditional Polish mothers and wives who go to church, take care of kids and the house, bake 20 cakes for Christmas and make their own families spend every freaking holiday with her "original, most important" family. That is, if they didn't rebel and turned into their toxic mothers or their mother's little slaves.

You don't ?

?

Polish woman always want to know the whole families private business for ammunition.

The toxic types - yes. My female cousin even forbade her mother (=my aunt - my mother's sister) to tell my mother about her personal stuff. That's because my mother is a toxic person. And so is her mother (my aunt). Actually, both of my mother's sisters are toxic. The youngest of them is the most normal, but still...

Btw, my aunt is still telling our grandma about my cousins's personal stuff and my grandma is repeating all of that to my mother, so my mother gets to know stuff anyway... *sigh* I f*cking hate it. Fortunately the younger generation seems to be more normal.

Love / Toxicity of SOME Polish Mothers Towards Their Daughters [36]

Spending every Saturday or Sunday with your parents seems to be the norm for Polish adults.

Sweet Jesus, have mercy... It defenitely isn't the norm to spend every Saturday or Sunday with your parents for Polish couples... People have their own lives.

Never once did I hear "are you sure you want to marry her" or "you are so pale".

So true lol

Family is everything. Family is the most important. You don't turn away from your family.

Btw, in my case all those teachings came from my mother. My father had generally "wywalone".
Paulina

Love / Toxicity of SOME Polish Mothers Towards Their Daughters [36]

@Videobroker, often both daughters and sons have close relations with their mothers in Poland. But there's "good close relations" and "bad close relations". Those "bad close relations" are usually when the mother is a toxic person. Adult kids of such mother often have problems with setting boundaries in their relations with their mother and have problems with standing up to her. It always has to be the way the mother wants.

The problem is that in Poland there's something I would call "family terror" and the "terror of the elders" (parents, your aunts and uncles always know better, even if you're an adult already). Families are often closely-knit. Family is everything. Family is the most important. You don't turn away from your family. And for a toxic type of a Polish Mother not spending Christmas or Easter together once in your life may be a "betrayal" of epic proportions lol And she will make you feel guilty for this.

My girlfriend and I talked and she agreed she could end up being just like her mother. I mentally made the sign of the cross

Oh dear lol
So what is her mother like?

I don't see a lot of attachment between Polish fathers

Yes, because often there's isn't much attachement. Maybe this is one of the reasons why Polish women may have stronger bonds with their mothers than their husbands... Because they weren't taught to have bonds with men? I don't know... Either way, it's kind of sad.

My girlfriend is always worried about her mother, what her mother says, what her mother thinks

It sounds like your girlfriend needs to grow up... How old the two of you are, btw?

You know, the first step is to realise that there's a problem. I would give your girlfriend articles to read about toxic relations in Polish families, especially between Polish toxic mothers and their daughters. They've been an eye-opener for me. And not only the articles, but also the comments under those articles and blog posts of psychologists. It looks like there are a lot of Polish women with the same problem - their toxic mothers.

Maybe that will be enough. I think you should at least try. If it doesn't work, it is possible that she'll need a therapist's help with breaking that umbilical cord.

NATO is cancer and it needs to spread.

No, noone wants to have cancer. Noone willingly invites cancer into one's body. So, in case of Ukraine your metaphor describes Russia, not NATO. Russia is the unwanted cancer that tries to spread all over one's body once it gets a foothold inside.

News / Will America send troops to fight a Russian invasion of Baltics and/or Poland? [283]

@Bobko, the Finns most definitely whooped the Soviet Army's asses. All you need to do is to look at the numbers - they don't lie.

According to the English version of Wikipedia the Finnish had 32 tanks, while the Soviets had 2,514-6,541 tanks. Finland had 114 aircraft and the Soviet Union had 3,880 aircraft. That's an absolutely crazy advantage in military strength!

The Winter War of 1939 ended with:

Finland - 25,904 dead soldiers
The Soviet Union - 126,875-167,976 dead soldiers

Finland - 43,557 wounded
The Soviet Union - 188,671-207,538 wounded or sick (including at least 61,506 sick or frostbitten).

Finland lost 20-30 tanks
The Soviet Union lost 1,200-3,543 tanks

Finland lost 62 aircraft
The Soviet Union lost 261-515 aircraft

Mind-blowing. That's some crazy sh1t figures!

Great success!

Of course it was! For a nation of 3.5 million to defend itself against the Soviet Union which in 1939 had a population of 170 million and an overwhelming military advantage is verging on a freaking miracle! A real battle between David and Goliath!

The Finns lost however almost all of their tanks and a great part of their aircraft and with no outside help they had no other choice but to cede territory. They prevented however the Soviet Union from taking over their whole country. They managed to defend Finland's independence.

they gave away their economic heartland.

You are truly the hyena of Europe.

Now Finns can tell themselves they are heroes

Of course they can. Their defense was truly heroic. I'm in absolute awe of them (and so was the world at that time, from what I've read). I don't know what kind of little, petty man you'd have to be to deny the Finnish soldiers the right to be called heroes after they managed to defend their homeland against such military power.

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

But not impossible....

In theory everything is possible, but that would be a very unlikely and wild scenario. Even Hitler needed a "good enough" reason that could "justify" invading Poland (German minority) in front of his people.

The Polish society would have to reach a higher level of insanity not only than the Russian society, but also than the German society under the Nazi rule, I guess. I don't know what would have to happen for something like this to take place...

I have learned from posters like Iron that there still exist polish grievances and resentments as in cases like Lwow....

But Ironside is a Konfederacja supporter. They're Polish nationalists. Some of them are pro-Russian, so maybe they would be willing to join Russia in partitioning Ukraine, but they're getting only a few percent of support in polls.

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

Imagine for a moment Poland acting like Russia....invading western Ukraine for some historical reasons/grievances whatever....

It's difficult to imagine, to be honest... Majority of Poles don't consider Ukraine to be a "fake" country, we respect it's independence and their language. There is no big Polish minority in Ukraine that would have to be "saved". And a few objectionable monuments and street names isn't a good enough reason to invade a country...

Do you think the Poles as a people would try to overturn the polish government from the streets to end this invasion?

First of all, such an invasion could happen most probably under an authoritarian or totalitarian regime, rather than in a normal democracy. Poles already stood up to such a regime during communist times. Of course it was easier for Poles, because that regime was forced upon Poland by a foreign power, so it wasn't viewed as unpatriotic to fight against it - on the contrary. Nevertheless, those opposing the regime were experiencing repressions, even a martial law was introduced. People were being sent to prison, fired from certain jobs, sent to the army, even if they didn't qualify for service, getting killed during strikes and protests.
