Well now, he is Polish
Actually he is not.
He was born in New York and Grew up in England.
So, like me, he is an Anglo Pole.
So my opinion is equal to his.
He's quite right in my view when he says that Poles are neither romantic nor passionate
You are basing your views on your knowledge of post communist Poles.
Zamoyski and I had little influence from them but more from the Polish exiles,who very much showed their passionate and romantic side.Which is why I can't understand his comments.
Communism did kill some of the true Polish character,but that character lived on in exile.

. The cynical part comes, I think, from the communist period.
Which has never effected Polish exiles.
Pawian ignored the relevance of the Polish diaspora.
But it is huge.
Population of Poland 40 million.
Polish Diaspora 20 million.
1.USA 10 million.
2.Brazil 3 million.
3.Germany 3 million.
4.UK 1 million.
5.Canada 1 million.
6.France up to 1 million.
7.Argentina 500,000
8.Lithuania 260,000
9.Australia 180,000
10.Norway 108,000.
