History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

Germany was never Polands friend...we never broke a treaty or a promise to you...

no maybe you didnt, but he has a point, you sit and rub it into peoples faces, but
the money your country recieved was to rebuild.. remember Germany was a Pile
of rubble too.. and he has a very valid point, to which I can say I think he is
correct in saying the war did slow economic growth..

I believe Poland would be in a much better position.. whether anyone thinks
they prob wouldnt move on...im sure they would have moved alot further and
culture would still be strong as ever..

your not to blame for what happened, but of course your defending it all the time
so therefore involving yourself in the mix of it,, so of course you or anyone else
cant be upset if people still converse about it..

Love / Polish Women Versus Your Local Women ? [289]

Good answer Roko.
It is considered morally wrong to have sex before marriage in Poland because of the catholic upbringing, although it's views on that are slowly changing.

agree

I was going to bring forth this point, but you said it :))) yeah krysia !!

dont fall off the wagon

*grabs foreigner4 by the hand*

its clearly a discussion , not a book :)

"we should be careful of this dog" or "this dog may attack us." Is that what you meant?

no, i meant that two seperate incidents happened .. by the same type of animal
( predictable) making the incident's similar in how/possibly why/ what happened.

two different sets of people/persons.

We should be careful of this dog is pre-meditated warning. as is this dog may attack
us because the dog hasnt attacked yet, but possibly could.

same applies to known diseases, animals, humans, plants, ( being predictable)
so someone elses reality could have repeated itself ( different person) but
same instances therefore it cannot be a dishonest to use a term to describe something even it is was someone else's reality because that is the english language

and if the word only has one meaning, it cant be another's dishonest abuse of the term if its the only word to describe it.

and even if we are seperate in realitys, we still all in some way share the same
predictable history.. which is why we are so comfortable with our lives now.
we learned from it.. and would it be wrong to say that when your born , you do not
have a handbook in your diaper that tells you what not to do, its all a case of learning
which we all know by experience have went thru similar learning experiences growing
up..

do not touch a stove. do not play with scissors, do not pull the dogs hair, do not
eat crayons, do not.. the list goes on.. thats my point.

:)))

the object need not be identified explicitly when the two people discussing it are both clear on what the object (in this case our example dog) is.

ahhh but how do we know they are only discussing it among themselves?

maybe the reference to being attacked was to a goup of people :)

However, I've read the equivalent of people making statements like "We were attacked" or "This dog attacked us."

well of course,, because the first statement doesnt specify what they were attacked by
the second tells what attacked them and so the two arent similar because the first
statement could refer to a man or a cat or snake..

but its up to the individual to become interested in the statement and create his own
thought process of how/what happened.. or succumb to lazy thinking and not be
interested at all..

a form of dishonesty to use a term which attributes an event to our experience.

but every moment in time cannot be re-created or forseen so its up to the imagination
to bring forth these so called experiences from the past given the information
presented by those whom have explored these avenues of our past lives...

there wasnt just one dinosaur or one human..

We had to go through a lot during the period of partition

we,us,they, them -pleural forms meaning more then one.. history involves many..

In the above example, unless the person (albeit an example) had gone through this experience themself, then the term "we" is incredibly inaccurate.

not necessarily so, IMHO it can repeat itself thru others and in certain instances..

For example: someone can be attacked by a pitbull. it might not be the same one
that attacks again, but the same breed of pitbull can attack another human and
leave the same damage.. thus two of the same types of historical events that happened to ( pleural) two people with more then likely the same provocation as this is

how we learn about animals, plants and humans because history can be predictable
in some instances.. we have come so much further because of this.

:))

It has to do with sun exposure.I am sure vampires in Poland have very white skin.

they dont celebrate halloween.. :D

quote=Foreigner4] wierd how people on this thread talk about others' experiences from history
isnt that what the imagination is supposed to do, put yourself in history so that you
can try to understand what they did, went thru, to get to where we are today?

this is a very interesting topic to read through.

I agree.. we need more input in this thread.. has anyone had their DNA tree
done ( ancestry) to see which group they belong?

I plan to in the near future..

Life / Poles - the Nation of Liars? [478]

there are issues I have to endore which drive me positively nuts!!

then you should have started your thread with that line..

Polish issues that drive me nuts.. the thread is a open invitation for argument
because your accusing poles of being liars..

I can say that I honestly dont know. I cant comment on the rest, but my cousins
live there and one thing she did mention was the health care issues.. shes up in
age so I can see where concern is when it comes to needing medical attention and
how far it is taken before someone actually administers care..

and Im not saying all doctors are like this, after all I am sure they teach ethics and
how doctors should act vs real life and what goes on behind the scenes.. its sad
that this does occur.

Take a look at your own posts. You will find a lot of spelling mistakes.

thanks slick, but he is right, it was petty.. I was trying to get his attention to post
on my question... which he did. and discuss the issues bothering him about it..

the medical bribes I do agree on that needs to change. people shouldnt have to worry if they will face a life threatening situation if they dont pay up front or pay enough to

the physician that will be the ultimate caregiver in making sure this persons health
doesnt fail. to me this makes no sense.. so I do agree on that one.

Food / Healthy polish food? [134]
Maybe instead of the hamburger meat you could use lets say some ground turkey? Nevertheless - we got a winner!

I have used ground turkey and its same taste, once the flavors cook together theres
no difference.. and with every good recipe, if you dont use substitutes to lower the
fat then of course its not deemed healthy or low cal.

the low carb stuff I dont buy into , people dont realize how much they need those
carbs for metabolism.. my daughter is living proof.. she relys on complex carbs such
as breads and potatoes, rice etc to keep her energy up and we use lean proteins to
keep sugars level. we dont bombard, but she has to have them so the myth of the
carbs is garbage to me,, life depends on it in our home.

she is picture of health.

but the Poles are a Nation of liars.

u know the whole nation?? wow, you sure do get around buddy ... thats alot of people
to keep track of.. generally speaking, my cousins live in Poland, my cousin Wiktoria
is 84 years old and I really doubt that you made any appts with her, she cant get around much these days and if your calling my cousin a liar ( generally speaking) then

I do take offense for her sake because its morons who speak of a whole population
that make harsh judgements of people when its only few theyve dealt with...

please recant and make a proper statement...

Food / Healthy polish food? [134]

first of all stuffed cabbage is one of the main healthy dishes used at our hospital and
is on the lean Cusine menu for frozen healthy meals..

cabbage has no fat. and depending on how you pick your meat, they have extra lean
hamburger for the filling, and rice is good for you..

the sauce is made with tomatoes, what is not healthy? my whole life I never seen
my mom add any grease to them, what about duck blood soup? how many calories
is in that? its made from the blood of the duck what else does it contain?

I never eat it, ( not a fan).

I will get back to you if I think of more.. hmmmmmm

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

And c'mon you cant hide the fact that US gets involved in all sort of military conflicts around the world, and so did in the past from the moment USA was born.

yeah and if we dont get involved people are flippin out saying we dumped them.
its a no win situation.

not to mention all the people of the united states are from around the world.. they
just choose the United states as their homes. and they left these other countries
because there was to much war going on in those countries, so they came to a
peaceful united states , till people from other countries started begging for their
countrymen back to fight in war.. that was WWI .. so please lets try to learn more
about why AMERICA gets involved.. I dont think our leaders are any less corrupt
then any other countries.. But I still want to hold out hope that my countrymen
who are of other nationalities /mixed cultures came here for the same reasons
my grandparents did..

and so scrutinize all you want , especially you ronek. but those of us who live here
and those who have visited,, have the better picture and we are a good nation!!!

despite bushes actions..

Genealogy / The typical Polish look, or all Eastern Europeans [656]

made tv advert as "ugly and disfiguring" but guess what Glaxostiensmithjohnson have the answer,a medicly formulated cream.

thats commercialism, thats not what the states are about.. thats why we say
the term * you watch to much tv*

its just like when you read a magazine, why do they only put the slim slender
people in ? there is multiple sizes, but the focus is only in one look and so many
people become insecure over commercialism and what is shown to them on how
you should look..

I dont care if people dont like my looks I dont ask them to look at me, nor do I care
I am not here to impress, I would rather spend my time constructively helping others
than to make others feel bad about appearance. but when I hear it or see it,
I am instantly upset.. because children have disfigurements, and features and it makes
me extremely sick and angry to see so many hurt because people dont try to
understand something they do not know about. yet they can laugh.

so thats where I come from..

Genealogy / The typical Polish look, or all Eastern Europeans [656]

also Poles are usually slender and not fat like Americans

witek this is what I refer to.. and please dont tell me only america suffers with
obese people. and you werent addressing a problem you were outright making
fun like you always do.. I know theres a Problem of obesity and I work in a hospital
so I see strokes, heart attacks and diabetics daily. but not once will you ever
catch me say one bad thing about someone and call them fat.. thats what you did
and dont try to candy coat it because its in plain writing, and people have problems
whether its obesity or other issues, your going to be one of those one day, you
should hope someone will take the time to care for your sad arse because you
are going to be one of those unappreciative patients that is alone later in life..

people sway away from unpleasentness.

but no need to single out the US... The abundance of refined foods is taking the toll on people, mostly in industrialized countries so far...

thank you Eurola, finally a very smart and thought out post.. no hate filled lies
and or generalizations ..

well its funny how people talk crap about fat, my daughter lives on carbs and her
body cant process fat nor can she excercise to much or she will become really sick
and we spend days in the hospital.. I really get tired of people talking crap about
fat. this could be your family that dies, instead of making fun why not help someone

sickening.. karma will show up on your doorsteps hopefully soon.

just so you know, most of these are metabolic defects, something that happens
because of genetics ...

I am so glad I don teach my family to be this cruel and I dont call other nations fat
skinny or put them down in anyway.. witek some days I think your really nice and
smart, but this thread, your dumb side popped out. I lose so much respect for people
when they are out to hurt others.. god what a shame!

did you ever see a skinny person eating a burger and she/he can eat as much as
they want and never gain a single pound and then you have a person whos metabolic
system isnt working similar and so they store the fat, wow.. did any of this ever occur to anyone? or is it just a lets put down others show???

I am done!
