News / Referendum to decide about exotic immigrants in Poland [559]

No - still mostly Ukies and other Ex Soviets.

He said lots of south Asian looking people with suitcases... he couldn't imagine how they function in Poland or what they're doing... i mentioned that a lot are probably in factories (put 'factory job in Poland' into youtube and see).

A question for those in Warsaw who are ever around the bus station at Zachodni.....

Was talking to a friend who was transferring from train to bus there and he said it no longer looks like Little Kyiv (as it did for years with more notices in russian and Ukrainian than in Polish) but now looks like Little Bombay with tons of South Asian (and other miscellaneous obvious foreigners)...

Is this the case now and if so, when did this change happen?

UK, Ireland / London is Poland's 24th largest city [85]

Somalis don't seem to improve any place where there are a lot of them....

Similar to Afghans in that respect, or within Europe Gypsies and Albanians...

In a vacuum cultures are equal, in the real world there can be horrible mismatches where an established culture becomes very dysfunctional and pathological when in contact with others.....

But is it friendly architecture (people can lean on it when they might not want to sit because of weather) or hostile architecture (designed to prevent undesirables like homeless people from being comfortable?

News / Future of Polish-Ukrainian relations [669]

500,000 men would now be watching football and having pizza and beer.

Said like a moron who follows RT and not real sources....

The russian plan (revealed some time ago) was to kill a bunch of Ukrainian civilians (Bucha on a countrywide scale) while closing the region to outsiders. After a few years the plan was to 'discover' the mass graves and blame the Ukrainian government....

russia was always going to kill a large number of Ukrainians, the only choice was whether to fight back and minimize losses or give up and suffer a holocaust.

children must sit quietly at Catholic Mass.

Small children often run around and sometimes make noise playing during the Polish masses I've attended... not every time but it's not a rare occurence and the priests either ignore it or smile at them...

ussia will never let go of C, D, and L

What about X and Z?

And second... it's so cute... you write as if they'll have a choice!

What faith you have in their mission to kill Ukrainian civilians!

Imagine what you could be if you turned your efforts toward life and not death!

roblems talking about 'the Irish' with Americans is that they think Irish American is the same

I think it's probably the same with any X American group (where X refers to a European country). Italians don't understand Italian American stereotypes and we've seen on this forum that Polish Americans are pretty out of touch with modern Poland....

Then you have unique Euro-American identities the most famous of which is the Scotch Irish (which don't really have much to do with Scotland or Ireland since they are among the most deracinated of Euro-Americans...)

ussia trusted Western motherfu*ckers in 1990 about NATO

Who said what? What proof do you have about that?

ussia trusted the Minsk Agreements

russia violated minsk before the ink was dry....

When did you trust somebody and how?

Figures you don't know... basically social trust is indispensible for a country to become wealthy and no country high in social mistrust has ever stayed rich...

friendliest people in Europe, why are the Irish so popular etc.

I think Ireland shipped off most of its worst to the US.... the popular American stereotype of the Irish is that of a bunch of morose alcoholics who are quick to resort to violence. The stereotype seems as popular among Americans of Irish descent as anyone else....

For the morose drunk part, see Eugene O'Neill...

For the violent part see popular movie Boondock Saints

There was also the Irish mob, which lasted longer than any other organized crime group except for Italians (the Jewish mob seems curiously forgotten...) the father of one of the title characters in Rizzoli and Isles was an Irish-American mob boss...

Italians are also perplexed by stereotypes of Italian Americans totally obsessed with food.

Do you have to go to mass to be a Christian?

Protestants do not have mass... they have services.

students who are troubled with severe dyslexia

Do they mean the specific condition of dyslexia (reduced ability to recognize letters in linear order so, for example instead of STOP they see TOSP or SOPT).

I remember when dysleksja just seemed to refer to generalized learning disorders (of which there are many most of which don't involve dyslexia).

UK, Ireland / Raising Bilingual Children - How are you teaching your children? Your experiences? [74]

they will end up speaking the langauge of a country they live in much better,

Yes. The language of the playground is always more appealing to children than mom and dad's (when there's a difference).

If parents want to make sure the children don't just have some passive knowledge they need to take steps to cultivate the language. Years ago I had a Asian colleague whose daughter preferred to speak Polish but also attended special classes to keep the original language in shape (and regular trips back home as well).

I've had some students who partly grew up in Germany and they often say the parents' decision to move back to Poland was a language struggle (one could still understand Polish but could barely speak when the parents decided to return) and it was a real uphill battle to reach the level needed for a university student.

News / Poles say a big YES to our European Union [996]

German system is the obstacle here

I think there are two moving parts....

Germany's system is functionally broken and no one wants to admit it.... (going largely here by comments made by Andrew Hammel on his very good twitter feed).

There is also an.... agenda? by some powers that be in Europe (inside and outside the EU) that is about doing everything it can to facilitate mass migration that won't lead to direct public rebellion. This means the process is slower than it might be (which frustrates them) and it means many don't seem to realize that a lot of dysfunctional migration policy is there on purpose.

The two parts (broken policy machines and policies that purposefully enable migration) are partly independent and partly working together.... but you can't make sense of wha'ts happening without both parts.

Also: in the globalist worldview, human beings do not have agency... all human beings are interchangeable widgets not shaped by genetics, culture or religion but are infinitely malleable by sound government policy. There is no evidence to back this up and lots of challenge it but they hold it close to their hearts and don't want to let it go.....

we need immigrants for labour and sustainment of population

A very large majority of those arriving by sea have no real chance of ever being able to keep a job in Europe... they don't have the linguistic background (and European countries aren't good at teaching adult arrivals and mostly don't have jobs that don't require language).

As for population.... I'm more of a cultural nationalist but a genetically diverse population can only work under a _ruthless_ regime of forced assimilation.... it is what it is.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

the culmination of a long, long journey towards equal opportunities and fairer treatment for women

And it succeeded when it did because the goals of the women's movement (I'm a friend, not an enemy) and capital coincided.

That is no longer the case which is why capital now does a lot of things to encourage women to not be in public....

, then the mass indoctrination started

You are addicted to US style conservative crazy theories... it wasn't mass indoctrination but the law of the market... a female employee who got pregnant was a catastrophe for a company that had to keep paying her (and train and pay a replacement too). Old PRL style laws were unworkable in a capitalist reality.

And it wasn't weird ideas about devoting their lives to latvian pottery but the crazy desire to be housed and fed....

In the US things were different and the course of events was propelled by different factors.... like rebellion against the monotony of stay at home housewifery (worse in us style suburbs than in a Polish urban environement)

But the decisive factor was that capital wanted women's labor (the only reason the women's liberation movement succeeded was that it coincided with the interests of the capital class).

Women who decide to stay at home and raise children are called parasites

Never heard that, the pińcetplusy that I see would probably have trouble holding down any kind of job since they seem to not have much going for them except having (loud and poorly behaved) kids....

I remember (mumble mumble) years ago when graduating students wanted marriage and kids but also needed jobs for luxurious like food and shelter... that's the main cause of women not being eager to have kids now.... a whole generation was trained to believe that kids = poverty.

keeping alive the flame of familial love (Küche)

Küche means 'kitchen' not vag1na....

Apart from that what strikes me is that you don't seem to be writing about Poland at all.... for many generations most Polish women have gone to work while raising families.... if they're less eager to do that now and concentrate on career then maybe Polish men need to up their game and be a value at home...

The K K K model (as it were) also makes women very dependent on men who in Poland are not necessarily the most dependable... the church certainly has no great record of protecting women from domestic abuse and the like.

And of course there's the typical russian hyopcrisy promoting KKK while prosecuting a pregnant woman for not doing her part in the war effort....

News / Poles say a big YES to our European Union [996]

Western European countries are not good at producing jobs that people who barely know the local language can do

Western European countries are far too good at trapping people into intergenerational welfare dependence

Western European resources are limited... the number of Africans who want to live in Europe far, far, far excedes the number that can be taken in.

Solve for equilibrium.

would rather give up Romanian benefits to live and work in Germany or Belgium

And by work I assume you mean 'engage in petty crime' because that's all most of them are qualified to do....
