I believe the attitude is that car is bigger and moves faster so its up to you to avoid it.

Even if both people are in a car the one who has the better car thinks he has the right of passage.

Travel / Why does everyone seem to hate LOT Polish Airlines? [382]

Poland's national carrier, LOT Polish Airlines has been given the go-ahead by Russian authorities to fly over Siberia, with more Asian destinations planned for 2012 as a result.

The opening up of Siberian airspace has meant that LOT is planning to open routes when the airline takes delivery of Boeing's 787 Dreamliners next year. Also Russian national carrier Aeroflot will open another route to Poland, to Krakow's Balice airport from Moscow-Sheremetyevo as of June 1, 2012.

Poles usually felt inferior to every ethnic group of Western Europe but now they act like they are superior to Greeks, Portuguese, Spaniards etc.?

My mom (here in States) and aunt (in Poland) say that Greeks ans Italians are lazy asses and womanizers nothing more. As for superior, I think it's that Poland a "new" Europe nation doesn't even come close to having the problem Greece has that's been free for much longer.

woopie.. I'm sure a domestic beer is still almost universaly ordered throughout Polish bars and clubs by Poles. I pretty sure a small 0.33ml Heineken still cost much more than a 0.5ml Warka or Zywiec.

Dupont? in the Pocono mountains. There are many cities/towns with people of Polish ancestry in Pennsylvania. 7.2% of all Pennsylvanians. Were much more spread out here then in other states from Erie or Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.

Is there something wrong with Slavic teeth?

My sister's in dental school claims Polish peoples teeth aren't bad at all, Asians (Orientals) by far have the worst teeth according to her. It's probably genes and diet. Black peoples teeth appear to be the brightest and healthiest (It could be the surrounding complexion making it look like that)

Wrong. Babcia is the word for both.

It depends which part of Poland people who talk like that came from (and if they're from the city or countryside). I got a friend who comes from the Lomza area and calls him mom "mamenka" I've never heard that word in Stalowa Wola where I came from. Busha sounds like it could be how they speak in Bialystok.

Life / Are the Polish Police Gutless? [21]

One cop in Poland told me when he went to a grade school (8-15 yr olds) and tried talking to the kids they laughed at him. They have no respect because cops can't really do much and if they go too far they'll loose their job which is not easy to replace in Poland. During communist times each cop was like a sheriff in the wild west, he could beat you just on suspicion and there wasn't much one could do.

I say that many Polish guys have their work cut out for them.

It's pretty difficult to satisfy a good looking woman anywhere no matter what her nationality is. They have this feeling of being upper class quality based on that.
