Yup.. Just one of many bad things that PiS had to clean up after PO. Actually North Koreans worked in PL well before PiS came to power. The EU talks tough about NK yet they have no problems with NK running hostels and restaurants in Germany.

Many of the NK's who came to Poland, like the Vietnamese, came during the PRL years. Most of the NK's that are in PL are located in the tri cities where they are employed as ship builders and some in agriculture. These are legal activities. There is no ban on hiring North Korean workers and PO never did anything about the NK's working in Gdansk during their term in power either... so your assumption that PiS are actively doing business with DPRK is false as it is mostly private individuals/sp zoo's that are contracting NK's for the cheap labor. This was done before PO's term, during PO's term, and is still occurring under PiS.

Quite frankly, most Poles simply don't care about NK and don't care about the few thousand workers in the country....

Also, I'm pretty sure one of the high up Kims was up until very recently the ambassador to Poland and currently lives in Warsaw in one of the fancy neighborhoods.

Dominic I've spent years in Poland as my whole family is there so im keenly aware of what the reality is. The life in PL is different from the US - especially major left leaning cities in the US. The reality is that in Poland there's no ridiculous debates about safe spaces, 70 genders, or other bs that Polish parents have to explain to their kids. There's no antifa gatherings nor are conservatives disliked in the major cities like they are in US. In Poland you can stick to your traditional values and no one will fault you for it. In fact, in Poland people encourage conservatism, Christianity, etc. whereas in the US you can't even put a Christmas tree in a public place (but of course jews are able to put a 20 foot menorah in front of the white house) It's a way better place to raise a family than US imo. Also, it's a very homogenous country with nearly everyone being either Polish or Ukrainian and Christian. It's a country where almost everyone has the same roots, religion, traditions, etc.

Well quite a few people including on this forum moved from a high income country to pl. Money isnt everything. Poland offers a way different lifestyle and its a way better place to raise a family than the west. It comes down to whether things like traditional values, safety, christianity, homogeneity, etc is important to you or your fam. Im resettling to pl for those very reasons. The us esp chicago is not a good place to raise a family

One thing is for sure - in Poland, although Christmas has turned into more and more of a consumer's holiday and receiving an orange is no longer considered an awesome gift, Poles still celebrate the old traditions of Wigilia, Pasterka, 12 dishes, etc. The West doesn't really have that - it's become far more PC to accommodate all the different religions whereas in Poland almost everyone is Christian, even if only nominally, so Christmas is still dominant.

Absolutely... especially if you live in a city run by leftists and you have to pay over 10 grand a year on a house worth 250k-500k, 15k-25k for 500k-1mil. It's ridiculous. In Poland is a couple hundred to a grand. In Poland, a person can buy a home and not have to spend their whole live trying to just make the mortgage and tax payments. Plus, the cost of living like food, transport, etc. is way cheaper. Only luxury imports and gasoline cost more.

Also, in PL you don't have to deal with all the BS in the west and don't have to worry about crime, terror, rapes, shootings, ridiculous traffic and pollution, etc.

Its already happening - just a matter of time. China and Russia are wisely working on a basket currency that will be backed by gold. Over 20k tons of gold were exchanged last year - most of it going from the west to the east -Middle East, China, Russia, India, etc.

And no.... Poles DO NOT strive to be accepted by the West - we actually don't care. Even amongst Polonia living abroad, the FOBs and 1st gens tend to stick around each other. They keep their traditions and don't give it up and become totally Americanized. Most immigrants even send their kids to Polish language schools. Even for xmas we follow the Wigilia traditions and everything. We emulate the West in terms of music, movies, fashion, cars, etc. but our society is much more traditional and conservative than the US/UK/Germany/etc. And even like Polish rap which obviously is a copy of Western music - rap being the most popular among youth - is still sung in Polish and has a smaller following than say like electronica amongst Polish youth. Most Poles enjoy American movies and TV shows, but they still love their Polish ones which are just as good if not better. Also, Poland has a lot of copies of western stuff especially the reality shows, singing and talent series, etc.

Yes a lot pushed for the overthrow of Moscow's influence but nonetheless if you were involved in business you had to pay bribes to cops or agents. People.who were in the military politics or worked in the state corporations had to be pzpr members if they ever wished to move their careers up. A lot of the company managers were able to basically sell jobs and stuff the factory made plus during the transition many of those people and politicians were able to.get factories offices real estate super cheap. China is more powerful than Russia in every way except for perhaps militarily and in terms of land size. But China's economy and population alone make it a force to be reckoned with. China and Russia are currently participating in war games and drills together against an attack by the West. One thing's for certain - the US and Western Europe are in decline while Eastern Europe, V4, Russia, India, China, Iran, etc. are the new powers. Eurasia is where the future growth lies. Once the dollar goes, which Russia and china are actively pushing to happen by backing up a new basket currency with gold (hence all the gold outflows from the west and into the east) the US's hegemony is over.
