Work / Business ideas for Poland [63]

A terrible idea in Poland, to be honest. If you do that, she will have to handle all the paperwork herself.

Work / Business ideas for Poland [63]

To have a wife is very good especially if she is supportive, loving and caring.

Supportive, loving and caring doesn't mean she has any business sense.

Generally speaking, the best business ideas are ones in which you open up a factory in a special economic zone. There are a lot of incentives available for such ventures, and it's nearly impossible to lose money in them.

Can you give us an idea of how much capital (in cash) you have to invest? I can give you some pointers if you give me figures.

Study / Question about studing Polish history and culture [20]

It's not a grammar rule but it is considered "neat".

You were the one that claimed that it was a mistake.

Firstly we do not start a sentence with a single letter word in Polish

Now you're admitting that it's not a rule, but it's considered "neat".

I think your Saturday school teacher was making it up in her head.

Only idiot is you, because there's no rule against it in Polish.

Study / Question about studing Polish history and culture [20]

Firstly we do not start a sentence with a single letter word in Polish,

Really?

lechpoznan.pl/aktualnosci,2,przepraszam-w-imieniu-zespolu,28212.html

Second paragraph contains an example of just that. First result I found on Google, but there are many more.

Polish allows you to start sentences with a single letter. Perhaps you are betraying having learnt Polish as a second language with such comments.

Life / How are electric cars doing in Poland? [413]

That's an understatement.

I've seen it suggested that this is what will make or break Tesla as a company. They need to be able to massively ramp up production without sacrificing quality, and I'm not convinced they're going to be able to do it. Anyone can create a niche car company, but mass production is a whole different story.

Life / Drugs in Warsaw [111]

Really? Where?

I'm wondering the same. Clearly a class or six on reading comprehension is required.

And keep organised crime out of the loop - something almost impossible to do in PL where Prohibition exists.

Yep, from what I gather, the supply of weed in the Czech Republic in particular is so decentralised that it's impossible for organised crime to get a hold of the supply there. In turn, there's no possibility for dealers to introduce the harder stuff.

Life / Drugs in Warsaw [111]

With substance use, whether alcohol, weed, ching, whatever, taking a judgemental approach has only ever worsened the situation.

With weed in particular, it's far more effective to talk to the consumers to find out about the supply chain. There's little to no sense in busting someone for personal use of the stuff.

Life / Drugs in Warsaw [111]

There are plenty of drugs in Warsaw and it should be possible to talk about this neutrally and without moralising.

Speaking of which, a friend of mine was telling me that celebrities in Poland have finally caught up with the excesses of the late 1990's/early 2000's in London and are behaving in an entirely similar way. Coke seems to be very much the drug du jour among the Warsaw jetset these days.

Does that mean it's your job to encourage them to break the law ?

It's not a crime in Poland to discuss the drug laws in different countries.

Again, stop trying to project American hyper-sensitivity onto Europeans.

You were extolling the use of marijuana a while ago.

I remember it well. His knowledge of the drug is certainly far beyond the average lay person.

History / 75th anniversay of Dr Janusz Korczak's death - a true Polish hero [26]

One of the truly great figures of those years.

Not only of those years, but of the 20th century in general. Korczak was the very definition of a great Pole during his lifetime, and the country was far worse for losing him.

Intentionally encouraging drug use may fall under one of them.

Nope. Not enough under EU law.

Or at the least revoke an ex-pats citizenship as an undesirable.

Nope. The Polish government cannot revoke the citizenship of a Polish citizen.

Poland should deport people like you that want to destroy it's society.

EU citizens cannot be deported, except in a couple of very restricted circumstances.

There's a huge social stigma against reporting people to the police as well. Hard to imagine that 99.99% of people he knows would report them, unless he (to quote Polly) is exclusively friends with ex-SB snitches.

News / Tusk turning his back to idea about Intermarium (New Commonwealth), seeing only EU as future for Poland [119]

v4 is getting closer

A fantasy, to say the last. The Czechs want nothing to do with Poland, the Hungarians are out only for themselves (and they've just done a very dodgy deal with the Russians) and the Slovaks are always looking East.

we will need to cut ourselves from western caliphates soon

Sounds like someone who is promoting the idea of Big Brother Russia looking after us again.

its time to look elsewhere

Yep, definitely a Russian sympathiser here.

News / Nuclear Power in Poland? Yes, please! Absolutely nobody disagrees! [73]

That goes gaainst popular snetiment, as an overwhelming majority of Poles oppose nuclear energy.

When was the last poll on the matter, Polly?

but added that financing for the project was still an open question.

It's very unlikely that PiS will fund such a thing. PO couldn't find the money for it, and PiS aren't going to spend untold billions on such a thing. The only possible alternative is for the neo-colonial Chinese to pay for it, but that would come at huge political costs.

News / Will America send troops to fight a Russian invasion of Baltics and/or Poland? [281]

I think the US would intervene if it posed a serious threat to those countries, but it's hard to see them intervening over a sparsely inhabited territory, especially if they don't actually invade Suwałki or Marijampolje. Creating a UN protection zone there would suit Russia perfectly, and the inability of Poland to respond would be a massive coup for Russia.

News / Will America send troops to fight a Russian invasion of Baltics and/or Poland? [281]

So as a hypothetical, what do you folks think about the chances of American boots on the ground in case of a Russian invasion into the Baltics or Poland?

Depends what the objective is. If the plan is merely to seize the Suwałki Gap, then it's likely that the Americans will agree to a UN-supported ceasefire with free passage for all sides rather than confront Russia head on.

News / Dodgy PRL-holdover judiciary finally reformed [420]

Yes. Even if he wanted to "understand" it, he could have done that without acquiring top grades in the subject.

It was a point of honour among many people in universities studies to get a 3 from the subject, just like in Russian classes in school. I struggle to understand why Jarek would want top grades from the subject.

Top grades, as well. I know a couple of dissidents from back then, and they did exactly enough to pass and no more. Hard to imagine what kind of person would willingly obtain top grades in such studies.

I'd choose the scientists.

As would everyone else.

Polly, of course, supports corrupt local businessmen over the Polish Nation.

News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

Things are getting worse, much worse for PiS.

rp.pl/Polityka/170729244-Sondaz-Polacy-uwazaja-ze-demokracja-jest-zagrozona.html

The latest poll shows that 56% of respondents agree that democracy is in danger in Poland, with the most notable part being that 71% of those aged 18-24 believe that it is. This is the same group that came out as being 82% opposed to the government, and anyone interested in Polish political history will know that it was the youth vote that destroyed PiS in 2007.

Interestingly, the same poll showed that 35% support PO/N. together, as opposed to only 32% supporting the United Right.

In short, good night PiS side.

Good news: PiS backed logging in Białowieża Forest has been banned with immediate effect.

Fantastic news. The forest is safe for now from the maniac who declared this morning that he wanted to log an additional million trees from there.
