News / Poland's PiS party members and crime [346]

crudball

The 1950s called Polo, they want their word back.
Hahaha, crudball? Jaysus, are you watching Mad Men or something???

Leopards do not change their spots so easily.

Y'know, I kinda want PiS to win. Just so I can laugh at the monumental f!ck up of of everything that they make.

News / Poland's PiS party members and crime [346]

And yet again, more corruption surrounds PiS.

Should've waited until closer to the election to break the story.

Then again it did come one day after PiS launched their election campaign, so PO effectively took away their headlines by making sure journos broke the story today.

Let the media wars begin!

News / Surprising ranking of Polish supermarkets (Biedronka expensive?) Living expenses in Poland. [35]

I did buy a few things in the past and I have eaten some more stuff from biedronka at people's so not hard to know that it is poor quality.

If you say so.
I'll remain the doubting Thomas though.

The Portuguese owner is no philanthropist and therefore if his prices are lower, it is not out of pure generosity but simply because his crap is not worth more

I shop in Tesco, Alma, Lidl, Biedronka, Piotr i Pawel. Re: price, Biedronka isn't the cheapest for sure. It's cheaper on some things, more expensive on others.

Lild wins cheapwise. Alma is good if you're looking for some particular cheese or wine etc. But you'd have to be bonkers to do a full shop there.

I prefer Leclerc

Terribly expensive and always pushing French products on people. They're thinking being, the crap we can't sell at home we'll flog in Poland coz they'll think it's posh. There's a Leclerc close to my house and it's always full of geriatrics; has nice cakes though, but that's about it.

Something I must ask my mates; where do they shop. Not something that's every really come up on conversation, other than one of them might say, British week, next week in Lidl, stock up on cheddar :)

Yet entirely acceptable in the Czech Republic, strangely enough

Mad ain't it....like the way szczać means ******* in Polish, but f!ckin in Czech.....or maybe Slovakian, don't remember.

First heard of the ice-cream thing Doda was on tele and there were bikers in the crowd shouting "Doda, Doda zrob me lody" :D

Fair assumption Smurf but the girl wants to hear Polish

Ah OK, it doesn't really say that in your OP.

Thing is in Poland you wouldn't wanna call her a b!tch or other things like that, you'd be more likely to say, get on your f!ckin knees now and blow my balls till kingdom come. Poles swear less than us from Ireland & UK so using a word like b11tch wouldn't really be advisable coz it has a much stronger meaning here. And whatever you don don't ever call her a kurwa.

Like y'know in English you could jokingly call someone 'a smart wh0re or even 'a dirty wh0rre but that's probably one of the worst things in Polish, along with cipa (c!nt).

I hope you get me, it's a subtle difference between the languages but calling a woman dziwka/suka = b11tch, or szmata = b11tch as well or kurwa = wh0rre would more likely end up in you getting two black eyes instead of two blue balls :D :D :D

so just drop the name calling and give direct orders and you'll be grand.
To translate suck my d!ck into Polish, they call it 'making an ice-cream'
Other than that, google translate will translate what you have in the OP

Life / Top 5 things I like about Poland [56]

Polish diet is UNhealthy:

You must eat a terrible about of crap if that's your diet.

I have paid 236 ZL for a filling

50 something euros, yea, that's cheap, even by Polish standards. And if your poor you get free dental anyway, you just have to wait.

USA, Canada / Poland has no real historical grievance against USA [27]

you need a LINK to know that America took in millions of poor, starving Poles and gave them food, shelter, jobs and freedom?

Yea, I want proof.

Did they really take them in, or did Poles just move there? Like Brits, Irish, Germans, French?
Were they given free food? No.
Were they given free shelter? No
Were they given jobs, or did they have to look for them themselves?
Freedom? Yea, sure, the land of the free me hole.

Proof laddie, give us some actual proof. Coz they only thing you've proven so far is you're full of wind.

What did I say that is incorrect and that offended you so much?

I'm no offended.

Come on then show me some proof of what you're saying. Maybe you'll change my opinion.
TBH, I don't think many countries have ever really helped Poland. A few have helped Poland to help itself, but for the most part, Poland's kinda been on its own.

The reason being that historically, Poland stepped on many toes over the course of history and many neighbouring countries wanted nothing to do with it.

But come on then, give some links to prove what you're saying.

is the USA.

Jaysus

imagine what the European map would look like without US military presence there

The same, although the American football team would have less Germans playing for them.

Does anyone disagree that America has done more for Poland than any other country in history?

Yea, most people will disagree. Poland however, will always suck America's knob, coz Yankie Doodles keep on promising visa reforms, which won't happen.

History / Sin of omission against Poland (Uprising ignored by Britannica) [24]

Lithuanian duchy family who married into the Polish one

Same thing, they both married into each other. Duh.

You are wrong again

Hardly, it certainly ain't important where I'm from nor where I live.
I've no problem with it, good that people from a locality are celebrating it. But, yea, not important in the grand old scheme of the world.

Sure, most people from outside England wouldn't even know where Yorkshire even is.

Pępek Świata

hahaha, that's hilarious, I'd never heard of that term before. Very good.

It rather reinforces stereotypes to see someone worked up that a foreign encyclopaedia doesn't reflect their own outlook on their own country's history.

It's a bit pathetic really.

History / Sin of omission against Poland (Uprising ignored by Britannica) [24]

Sorry?

Important in Polish history, not important in world history.
Think of it like Doda.
She's famous in Poland, not famous anywhere else.
Or like The Boer War(s), important to South Africans, but the rest of the world just says "Meh" Sure the only important thing about the Boer Wars were the British inventing concentration camps.

Brit Bully.

LOL!!!!!

If the Warsaw Uprising wasn't "important", as you say

That's not what I said.
I said:

it wasn't a very important event in world history.

Important to Poland, yes, to the world, naw.

why does Britannica omit Yorkshire Day celebrated on 1 August

Hardly important, the first time I've heard of it is today.

Enigma

Cracking Enigma wasn't a Polish achievement. Sure a couple of Poles broke an old code, but not the code that the Nazis were using at the time. I think they were actually something like 18months-2 years behind the proper code. So claiming Poles broke the enigma code is a bit like saying Columbus discovered America, even though the Vikings had been there 100s of years earlier.

Y'see Polonius, your ego is something of mammoth proportions. You need to come to realise that Poland isn't and never has been, nor will be an important country....sorry, it was once, my mistake but that's coz Polish royalty married into the Lithuanian royal family, long time ago though. Poland's like Ireland, or Portugal, or Croatia, or Albania, or Bolivia, or Uruguay, or Chile. It exists, the people living there like it by and large, but on the world stage it means very little to anyone.

News / Russian criticism of Poland - Soviet war memorial removal [332]

your fellow-Brit Bullies as a Cathophobe, homophile and Pole-basher.

Isn't it charming how quickly your true colors shine through. You start a topic and then abuse those who dare go against your biased opinion.

You are a lovely person

*hugs

On topic, Poland said it wouldn't remove such memorials, Russia has every right to be pi$$ed. There are tons of Communist graveyeards around where I live, they are respected and are kept in good condition. Poland desperately wants to poke the bear, thinking it has the support of NATO. Ukraine thought the same.

News / Polish parliament refuses to consider shack-up draft between both traditional and same-sex couples [96]

am very often (happily) amazed when I hear some Polish youth.

Agreed

but they do make the most noise and they do go out and vote; that is one of the key challenges which the equal rights movement in Poland faces.

Very true. if they could mobilise the youth it would make a difference. But saying that, when the choice is a centre right party or a right party then what difference does it really make. Poland's political problem is that there's so little choice, and even when you do vote, you don't even get to choose your representative, you just choose the party and the clowns running it choose who represents you.

We all know that democracy is the best of a bad lot, but Poland's version of it is a joke.

Poland would choose b)
Until the older generation dies off and continues to hold such power in election this country will not change. It will remain in the doldrums, choosing to get left behind while the West progresses towards equality.

The next battle is full equality for women, equal pay, equal rights.
But Poland will be well behind on that too.
Christ, they get interviewed here and the misogynists still present in asking whether they plan to get pregnant soon, even though it's illegal to ask.

News / Kukiz and Petru - newly emerging political stage in Poland [57]

These gay-priders

You start a topic and then try and take it off topic on your 3rd post.
Admin & Mods really need to be stronger on you.

I like the look of this new party. Economic professionals taking on responsibility for trying to improve this mess of a country.
Hopefully, one day we'll have actual doctors running the health system, lawyers running the legal system, sportsmen/women running sports and educators running the education system.

Unlike what we have now, ill-educated career politicians making a dog's dinner of a country brimming with potential.

Maybe they'll even appoint someone who could come up with ideas on how to stop Poland's gushing brain drain? Although I doubt it.

It's very difficult to be optimistic about Poland's future when you look objectively at the parties in power.

News / Polish parliament refuses to consider shack-up draft between both traditional and same-sex couples [96]

The same holds true for the animal kingdom

More bullsh!t from a bullsh!tter.

About 10% of the animal population is homosexual. which is pretty much the rate of homosexuality in humans. Us being animals that really shouldn't surprise you.

Do some reading and you might accidentally learn something about your surroundings:

Bagemihl, Bruce (1999). Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity. St. Martin's Press. ISBN 978-0312253776.
Harrold, Max (1999-02-16). "Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity". The Advocate, reprinted in Highbeam Encyclopedia. Retrieved 2007-09-10.
"Same-sex Behavior Seen In Nearly All Animals, Review Finds", Science Daily
"Same-sex behavior seen in nearly all animals". Physorg.com. 2009-06-16. Retrieved 2010-11-17.

And in zoos, generally there's some poor dude tasked with the job of masturbating animals.
Or animals just wank themselves off.

It's strange, naw, not strange, pretty f!ckin dumb that you think that animals (which would include people, seeing as we are animal) when they can't find a sexual mate will 'turn' homosexual. Most people would just have a wank. What you're thinking of are called bisexuals and they tend to have sex with any willing partner, male or female.

Maybe you're bi man, and that's cool.
Go with it.

Oh the same nonsense arguments that the No Side were putting forward before they got their asses whopped in the Equality referendum in Ireland last week.

It's very feckin simple.
Two men or two women living together will do just as good a job raising children as a traditional male and female family.
How come children of single mothers/single fathers/adopted children end up being OK?

Such a feckin ridiculous thing to think that homosexuals can't have a family.

Promoting such ilk liberalism to our youth as "normal" is beneath contempt to humanity.

Please avoid excessive quoting

Ya see, this is what you're up against, uneducated bigots who haven't a clue what they're talking about.

Let's go thru this.
1. IVF is normal, if you think it isn't please find a bridge and jump the feck offa it. Cretin.
2. Uncles/aunts, brothers, sisters, grandparents, are they not role models? If your father died, would that have meant that all male role models, your uncles, cousins, grandparents were redundant? No, now stop being a fool.

3. The woman who would breast feed that baby would be the one who delivered the baby. Really, you need to try and educate yourself.
4. Gay men, and lesbians for that matter, know where babies come from. Do you? Do you seriously think they don't. Man, you're not very smart. You see the thing is, it's not gay people who have gay children, it's heterosexual couples who have gay children. Being gay is no different that being born with blue eyes, or brown hair. It's genetic. Seriously, you need to educate yourself. I hope when you have kids, and god bless that poor woman, that you have a gay child. It might finally open that tiny brain of yours.
