One of the witnesses to its activities said: They brought a Jewish family of three people, including a 4-year-old child (a boy), from the village of Sulków to my village [Czaryś near Włoszczowa]. The family was placed in the granary of Stanisław Stępniak, where after 3 or 3 days the aforementioned Jewish family was taken to the Czaryska forest near the village of Wola Czaryska, where they were shot there. (...) After a few days, the Żbik men caught three Polish citizens of Jewish nationality, men aged about 20 to 25, who were also taken to the forest and shot . The information about the crime against three adult Jews was confirmed in the unit's chronicle. It results from it that the men wanted to join it, thinking that it was an AL squad.

On May 7-8, 1944, members of the same commander's unit entered Giebułtów. There, they discovered a group of Jews hiding at Konieczny family`s house. The NSZ men led them out into the forest. There, they managed to shoot: Majer Matusiński, his wife Rywka and their four children; Hinda Herszkowicz and her three children, and Tauba from the Lejzorek family. Several other captured Jews managed to escape. One of them, Chil Lejzorek, reached a neighboring village, where local peasants handed him over to the Germans. The Jews abducted from Giebułtów did not resist, because the NSZ men told them that they wanted to help them and take them into their unit.
The course of the murder is known, among other things, thanks to Konieczny's testimonies, Home Army documents, testimonies of NSZ members, and accounts of the surviving victims. The Gestapo or the German gendarmerie were informed about the pogrom. The officers arrived at the scene and murdered Konieczny's daughter and wife .

A two-day stopover without any events, apart from an action on thirteen Jews hiding in Górki Budziszowickie near Mały Książ - four squads of forty soldiers under the command of the company chief "Bursik" went to the above-mentioned town, where after pulling out thirteen Jews (a few children, elderly maidens, elderly women, seven men of about the same age), beating the farmer with whom the Jews were staying, they took them a few kilometers from the town to a clearing and shot them, leaving them where they were

As Polish nationalists, we are eager to cooperate with the Germans , because we know that we must fight communism together with them. We wanted to have a national government in Poland, free from Jews. If we had received such a government immediately after the end of the September campaign, it would have been possible to cooperate well with the Germans. Now, however, it is very difficult for us, nationalists, to promote such cooperation, because today there is almost no Polish family from which one or more members have not been imprisoned or shot by the Germans. We must therefore conduct our cooperation with the Germans very carefully so as not to give our opponents, the communists and the ZWZ , which cooperates with England and thus also with Russia, the opportunity to use this against us in their propaganda .

Quality Polish sausage must cost minimum 50 PLN for a kilo. Anything cheaper is either a nice discount or sth of bad quality.

Yesterday I spotted cheap sausage which reminded me of communist times. It is called Mortadela which suggests Italian origin and has frankfurter sausage texture but is much bigger/ wider.
It costs about 25 PLN per kilo.

I liked it as a boy coz it didn`t sport any visible fat which I hated in other kinds of ham or bacon. Amasing how taste preferences can change. Today I choose the fattest sausages and eat the fat first before meat.

This scene in the Oscar winning Pianist always brings tears to my eyes. On New Year`s Eve, a group of Jewish workers are ordered by drunk German guards to sing a joyful song. They choose the Polish insurgent song from 19th century which Polish patriots sang during 1863 January Uprising and later on too.
The trick is they sing it in Polish so Germans don`t understand a word (in the film it is in English).

Comment: the combination of wit, fatalism, bravery, foolishness and luck of those Jews picking that song (19th century song about the Uprising against the occupying Russians) to sing in those circumstances.
