News / Russian criticism of Poland - Soviet war memorial removal [332]

What bad stuff?

People in Central-Eastern Europe tried numerous time to escape the clutches of the Soviet Union. Berlin Uprising 1954, Hungary and Poland 1956, Czechoslovakia 1968, again Poland in 1980-81. It was always stopped, often by Soviet tanks or a threat of invasion. Long before 80s there was no love for Soviet Union here. After all, we knew them better than anyone.

Btw, even Tito knew what piece of sh*it Stalin was and what a shi*thole his Soviet Union was. That's why he quickly distanced himself from SU after WW2 and never looked back.

Regardless of the model of government, in Russia it always took a monstrous form. Tsarist autocracy was a worse form of absolutism than in the West, Russian Soviet communism was worse than say, a German revolution could have came up with had it succeeded. Or what the Scandinavians did in their corner of the world. Russians efforts to introduce democracy ended with Putin's dictatorship. Their version of free market reforms led to the oligarchic hellhole we know today.

Russia is where good ideas come to mutate, become grotesque and painfully die.

Soviets lost 27 million people during WW2 according to most recent findings. However all these people didn't die 'to save Europe'. Soviet Union was very happy to tear Europe apart with Stalin's best buddy Hitler. They'd be happy to keep on doing just that while providing 3rd Reich with stable supply of war materials... but then Stalin got betrayed by the only man he ever trusted.

History / Profound discovery - grievances towards Poland [6]

regarding Zaolzie and Polish occupation of it in 1938

Poles occupied Zaolzie when Czechoslovakia collapsed, so that it would not fall into German hands and increase the military potential of Germany. Zaolzie was previously Polish (called Śląsk Cieszyński), but when Poland had to defend on the east from bolsheviks, Czechs pushed for division of the region, as Poland was obviously preoccupied with a war. After territories were annexed, Czechs had anti-Polish politics (removal of Polish schools etc) to remove the Polish culture.

Poland wasn't perfect either. The whole interwar in central Europe was one huge scramble for the remains of 3 empires.

But the west in general and Poland in particular isn't living in 1940s to this day :-) We moved on and learned our lessons. Russia didn't. Grow up Russians, your whole state is based on faked martyrology and lies.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

Answering to the question in this thread's title, it would be enough if Russia stopped trying to be an empire again, fu*cking up everyone in its vicinity. This time has ended, twice even, in 1917 and 1991. Time to become a normal, albeit quite big, European country. But Russians still don't understand. That's why their imperial history has to repeat itself twice, once as a tragedy (Soviet Union), once as a farce (current day Russia).

Attack Poland in order to become even more prosperous and civilised. Ha! Clever Russians

Yeah, right. Invasion of Moldova and Georgia right after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the bloody massacres of Chechnya showed us all that Russia is still warlike and imperialist, only weak. We used this window of opportunity to escape from the range of Russian ambitions - under protection of NATO. F*uck such a neighbor.

He believes this is the way things are done in your "civilized" world, and this is why he cloaks himself with these legal justifications for every action.

Putin and his allies fill their pockets, live in opulent mansions and palaces, keep their mistresses in luxurious apartments in Moscow or Switzerland, send their children to study abroad (although they should not be able to pay the costs of such an education from their official ministerial revenues).

The army and the secret services receive a large part of budget, but without any oversight (some of it is not disclosed to the Duma, even though it's a puppet parliament) these funds are wasted by corrupt officials.

At the same time millions of Russians live a short and miserable life in subhuman conditions, without running water, literally sh*itting into buckets, entertaining themselves with alcohol, crocodil and tales of "Russia strong". While swallowing buckets of primitive propaganda (and moonshine) they are being robbed of their potential wealth, health, future.

With its massive resources Russia could be a civilized, prosperous country that provides its citizens with ample opportunities. Due to corruption of its government, lack of oversight from democratic institutions or free media it quickly becomes a third world state that educated people flee in droves.

Under Russian law, what is happening with these people is legal.

And it isn't even about how the law is written. It is about how it is actually applied. Authoritarian governments often try to use laws that at least seem reasonable or positive on their face, but will be absolutely used in a way to crush dissent and strengthen their power.

It is to be selectively applied against regime opponents. Exactly how Russia used laws to crack down on independent media.

History / 70th anniversary of 1943 Wołyń/Volhynia and Eastern Galicia Massacre - controvercies [454]

Historically it was always Russia that served as Poland's existential enemy, taking away our sovereignty and butchering Poles mercilessly. A single Volhynia massacre does not change this fact. We need allies against Russia to prevent it from gaining power. Ukraine is such an ally. We'd be utter morons if we did not support its fight against Kremlin's imperialist invasion.

What the fu*ck do you mean? Western allies have sold Poland in Yalta.
How "destruction of the last vestiges of the letter and spirit of the Yalta agreements" is a bad thing?

it was the "barbarians" who won WW2 and liberated Poland.

In the end we fought Germany together in a large coalition, but not before countless Soviet atrocities committed against Poland & Poles, of which Katyn is merely the most known, but there were many others, like sending tens of thousands of civilian population to Siberia and Kazakhstan or Augustów Roundup.

And Soviets were part of anti-Nazi coalition only because Hitler backstabbed them in 1941. Before Barbarossa Stalin was perfectly happy to be Hitler's ally and supplier.

I have had this perception that Russians as people in 90s were fine dudes. They didn't want to restore their empire, knew what a clusterfuck sh*ithole was Soviet Union, etc. etc. But now I wonder, maybe in the 90s I simply didn't know opinions of ordinary Russians. But now there is internet and I simply see more of their opinions. My first encounter of them mass calling someone nazi - was when Latvia or Lithuania moved some monument (year 2006-2007 or something) somewhere and internet Russians raged about that. That's the first time that I remember Russians being dumbfu*cks. I was like: wtf do they care what independent country does and where it moves it's monuments.

Off-Topic / Russian Views On Poland and Vice Versa [414]

Remember that the soul of a Russian, if not everyone, then almost everyone, is consumed with the spirit of hatred for every free Pole and for the idea of a free Poland.

They are easily capable of feeling even great friendship and will love you sincerely and heartily, like a brother, until they feel that in your heart you are a free man and you are afraid of their love, in which the dominant element is the desire to take care of you, in other words: to have you in their power.

This is the birth defect of their soul, hereditary and several hundred years old, for their slavery, for the Tartars, for Ivan, for the oprichniki, for eternal rebellions drowned in blood.

If one's own freedom is unattainable, the freedom of others arouses envy and disgust. For centuries, we have been too painful a role model for them, a denial of their own fate. I fear it will be a long time before they understand that no one and nothing but death will take away our right to freedom...

History / Karol Wojtyla, the man who become a pope (video) [58]

World War II. A young German soldier catches a suspicious Pole and escorts him to the nearest Gestapo station. Suddenly the heavens open, and from there the voice of God is heard:

- Let that Pole go!
- And why is that?
- This is Karol Wojtyla, his fate is destined, he will be the Pope!
- Wow! And me?
- Well, okay, and you too!

Life / Boys acting and dressing feminine, girls acting and dressing masculine - transgender teens in Poland [272]

I think stuff like the "Black Lives Matter" riots, "Drag Queen Story Hour", brainwashing children with critical race theory and gender ideology in order to get them to chemically castrate or mutilate themselves, putting rapists into women's prisons and generally gaslighting people about human biology, having completely open borders and then entirely ignoring the consequences of said decisions as things like gangs, violent crime and rape increase or even gaslighting people that it's all a conspiracy theory pushed by the evil "right-wing" while instead trying to "abolish the police", tearing down statues and taking a sh*it on the founding principles and ideals of the country, trying to abolish the maybe most important founding principle of "Free Speech" in roundabout ways, trying to ruin people's lives over jokes, simple disagreements or everyday interactions and similar might do that a bit more than lil' old Tucker Carlson with his Fox News show. Might want to do something about that kind of stuff if you want to prevent your possible feared future, because almost everybody has a breaking point.

News / R. Trzaskowski, current mayor of Warsaw, future President of Poland [354]

You have to understand that Trzaskbaum is mediocrity incarnate.
Each social group votes according to its interests. Trzaskbaum or "f*uck the poor" will not be supported by the poor. Like PiS, will not be supported by the rich because it tightens ZUS and taxes for entrepreneurs. It is very easy...

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

sometimes abortion is the only way to save a life

Still a pointless argument. Nobody from the left is arguing about making abortion legal in case of pregancies causing threat to life of mother alone.

Not to mention, now they have included postpartum "depression" among the "life threatening" issues that can affect the mother. They want abortion to be legal as a whole. The threat to life of mother argument is just the means used to push forward for the normalization of abortion for the sake of personal convenience and for the sake of sexual promisquity free of all consequences.

a doctor may refuse to help the victims

Most doctor are in this profession because they want to save lives. Not to terminate them.
Again, why to force good people go against their conscience? Create a vocation specialising in just that.

state health care denied abortion even though it is legal

How you would force a doctor to commit an act he/she considers a murder?

And if euthanasia is ever made legal, should physicians be legally forced to kill the patients?

Maybe you lefists should introduce some new vocation, something like abortionist or medical executioner? Or a butcher?
Someone not needing extensive medical knowledge base, but the will to terminate lives?

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

My advice is to never use the God argument

Except the point was never to explain why I believe abortion to be wrong, but whether beliefs of this kind can be held to be absolute. There's no point for me to be explicit about my beliefs if i cannot get you to accept the very premise upon which those beliefs are predicated upon. Of course, it bears repeating that the main issue in those polemics is not abortion as such, but the relativism pushed by the pro-abortion camp, against which religious fideism, which is lacking of a fundamental metaphysical underpinning, can only partially refute.

It is the same deal with the issue of homosexuality. What troubles the religious person is not homosexuality as such, but this idea that there's nothing inherently "wrong" about the homosexual act in principle as in fact. Since the religious exoterist only has faith and dogma to rely upon, any attempt to defend an idea which he can only perceive instinctively without any true conscious participation will automatically degenerate into an "hardened" absolutism which is lacking in nuisance and can even degenerate into a crass literalism and a petrified and suffocating fundamentalism which often ends up vandalizing the good it seeks to protect by perpetrating a greater evil (such as in the persecution of homosexuals). Basically, in order to defend himself from the relativist error the religious fideist errs in the opposite direction. In a sense, I even agree with many of criticisms regarding the inconsistencies and hypocrisies of the religious right. But then, if both sides of the argument are inherently full of sh*it, how do we determine what is true, and what is false? From a metaphysical point of view, the error of homosexuality can be explained thus:

sacredweb.com/online_articles/sw12_editorial.html

"The homosexual error is, among other things, that of isolating one pole of a binary cognate and treating it as an absolute, which does violence to the imperatives of the cosmic order"

Anyone who understands the metaphysical underpinning of this argument will not seek to extirpate homosexuality in fact, particularly considering such a thing is basically impossible, but will attempt, as best as can be hoped for in this world of corruption, to uphold the norm and respect the natural equilibrium of the cosmos, the specific object of tradition being that of recreating this equilibrium in our earthly existence as well. This is what makes marriage a sacred rite, this institution being merely an attempt to recreated on earth what exists eternally at a divine level. Hence, why the "normalization" of homosexuality (and not homosexuality as such) is seen as a threat, since it seeks to subvert the norm directly while rendering the entire concept of marriage redundant in the process. I don't need to point out that the the same argument can be applied to the issue of abortion as well.

Surely you'd not prefer people kept 'alive' indefinitely, permanently unconscious on life support machines.

Well, easy for you to say unless you try it.

The part you seem to be ignoring is that the purpose of one's existence is to do good or virtuous work. Obviously, if you are ill to such a degree that you are basically incapacitated from doing virtuous acts of any kind, then why bother keeping up with the charade?

The problem with the idea of euthanasia is that the way it is argued by leftists seems almost as if they want to "normalize" murder in the name of individual "suffering". That is generally the underlying problem when a leftist or "progressive" ideal crosses path with a religious principle. Take abortion for instance. There may be instances where it may be permitted, but as a general rule it is an immoral act and one that is specifically forbidden by God. Leftists will often cite the exception upon which abortion may be permissible as a way to pave the way for a complete normalization of the practice, so that one could get an abortion purely out of personal whim, without any moral consequence of any kind. Obviously, once you legalize euthanasia for extreme cases, it wouldn't take long before leftists will start arguing suicide is a "human right".

Life / Poland's feelings on glorified vaccinations [81]

Vaccines dramatically reduced the incidence of infectious diseases

Remember when we used to have something called a sanitation system that kept people from eating their own waste? I do, it was great while it lasted.

Diseases dropped dramatically when people started using sewage systems to take away their waste instead of bathing and drinking from it.

Vaccines had nothing to do with it. That was some crap doctors started to hawk AFTER disease had dropped dramatically everywhere.

I don't know how we all got by for a million years without pinheads sticking feces and cancerous SV-40 monkey viruses into our children's bloodstream with a mercury chaser with placenta still on them.

1910. America has gone nearly 60 years without a severe epidemic of any kind. Americans are so famous for their glowing health, height, strength and perfect complexions it is a stereotype.

1916. Doctors are so desperate for money and patients so scarce they hold conventions and decide to give away free "inoculations" against flu.

1918. Spanish influenza sweeps the planet and kills 10% of mankind.

2014. Americans all weigh 400 pounds, have a lifespan of ten years and die screaming with tumours the size of cantaloupes all over their bodies. Thanks, SV-40.
