News / Poland's Future in the EU under PIS [51]

main interest in the EU ...... if they are re-elected for a further term of office it's my belief that they will work hard at turning the electorate .....the country towards Polexit.

Who is feeding you that rubbish? Is that conspiracy theory made up by some dunces? Those some that would be rightfully hanged for treason if the circumstances were different and it wasn't Poland but some other country.

I'm talking form the perspective someone who would whish they were doing it. Luckily young people in Poland are anti-EU.

his words were initially greeted with a stunned silence.

yeah, cause that are dicks following a party line like in a good old Soviets times. The central comity hasn't decided anything yet, so the other can have resemblance of debate but need to keep it in prescribed form.

By the way there is not Ireland issue if the EU won't impose a hard border in case of no deal.

Obviously it would have catastrophic consequences for Poland

boo ho!

News / Mister President Andrzej Duda - Best Poland could get. [96]

who would stand up for democracy,

What? Do you suffer from Kaczynski derangement syndrome?

The opposition doesn't even give Duda's policies a chance to work.

His postion is different than that of a president in the USA. He has very little political power. The only reason he is getting all that flak is because he is part of Kaczynski and his party which are in charge in Poland at the movement. All those soviets and progressives or some clowns have meltdown.

Hopefully we will get someone in 2020 who at least is his own man

Why? We need a new constitution that would make presidency into the real seat of power. Also we need someone to stop PiS to pretend to be on the right. I would see endecja in that role, should have a few more people in the parliament.

News / Purturbing opinion: Poland is not a woman, it is a drunk, inept guy in depression [30]

I think that's actually a very good observation.

Nah, it is yet again BS dig at Poland's culture, history and dignity by a stupid commie woman.

The question for me is how this can be changed?

Get rid of this soviet types from politicks, institutions and from any position of authority or power.

Life / Why do Silesians hate Poland? [41]

some german-silesian has survived

you misunderstood - he is talking about German not Silesian - German. IF out there would be surviving some Silesian German it would be in Opole.

Those local folks there Dough talks about are using a dialect of the Polish language - geez.

which is one of the most regrettable stories in 20th century Polish history,

Yep, the treacherous Czech gov grabbed it and Poland never got it back.

Life / Why do Silesians hate Poland? [41]

That's interesting...some german has survived in Silesia after the expulsions?

Dude, ask me if you want to learn anything.

Silesia est omnis divisa in partes tres.
1. We have an upper Silesia (this thread is about) where local population rebelled in an armed struggle three times against German rule in 20' of the 20th century. Most territory of the upper Silesia was a part of Poland sicne1922. Local population speaks a local dialect which is peppered with words from the German language due to their long under the rule first of the Austrian and later German empires.

2. There Silesia called Opol- szczyzna (Oppeln), although technically it is a part of the upper Silesia it is a separate region and constitutes a separate administrative district of Poland. There long local people who consider themselves to be Polish, some they came after the WWII are Germans left that at the present are heavily supported by the German state, hell they as a minority under the EU law they hold a seat in the Polish parliament.

Something which is denied to Poles in Germany.

3. Lower Silesia where you can find only very few leftovers from the German rule times. Alas some moved back, bought a house or a land that belonged to their ancestors and are doing OK.

I must use this opportunity lol! To say that those Germans are just germanised Slavic people. Hence unscientific and crazy ideology embraced by Hitler that acted to divide white people into some superficial racial sub-groups. He done more harm to the white people than all Muslim terrorist combined.

Yet Germans allegedly so clever and industrious people went/fell for it like a bunch of stupid sheeples. So they should thing twice rather then lecture others what is right and want is wrong and what countries in the EU shouldn't or should do.

OK dig over. Have a good day BB!

News / How strongly are Poles sure that president Duda defend Poland's interests ? [265]

What more gov exacted even a merge as it is a social welfare program including so called 500+

What it should read - what more PiS gov extended a social welfare to those Ukrainian guest workers, and that include 500+ a program that was advertised as an incentive for Poles to have more children due to the demographic dip that coming.

Also some gov circles are considering to grand to Ukrainians (or all guest workers) an easy access to the Polish citizenship. Which is the next level stupid.

I knew that Polish politician are not the brightest but only a complete moron could have came out with something like that.

Poland has now decided to start a seven-year program to encourage immigration from; Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Armenia and Georgia.

If only. They are being in people from Pakistan, Tajikistan and India and no one is screening those people if they are not Muslims.
How is that for anti-Muslim immigration party? Apparently PiS lied to the people about its real stance on the issue of Muslim immigration.
As to this program - staring now - that is some kind of propaganda. It started at least in 2016/1015 - in three years in Poland appeared out of the blue about 3 millions Ukrainians.

What more gov exacted even a merge as it is a social welfare program including so called 500+ that had been advertised by the very same gov as a remedy for people not having children or for having them too few.

News / Israel opposing potential new Polish law to criminalise term 'Polish death camps' [1539]

. kind of hypocritical because Israel has very similar laws regarding the holocaust

Its is not about those laws. It is about historical narrative in which Jews are the only sole victims the likes history doesn't know. All the nation owe them and especially Catholics. So, they can shove it all in their unwashed behinds. why are you people still yapp about it. There is noting to talk about - just boycott everything kosher.

That is a generalization that doesn't reflect reality. Many villages thrive and many are also diverse with private businesses and shops that are doping well. Hence my question to dolnoslask what region he is located in beside dolnyslask.

Where are you? Could you be more specific than dolnoslask?

On the other hand, there is no point in setting up a company that would attend to gardening for the initial cost and a tax on a labour. That is quite a disgrace and something that PIS allegedly 'a good change' won't even address. boo!

Russia

Stop banging on about Russia. I get it. Russia is an ally Serbia wants or wish for. It is possible that strong Russia is in Serbian interest. Also because those two countries are not neighbours that game play might very well work for Serbia.

However in such a scenario is unacceptable to Poland. It is not in Poland's interest to have for a neighbor a strong Russia as it is. What more that perspective won't change in the foreseeable future.

You cannot reconcile those two realties - that is absolute nonsense. A fact that seems to be absolutely obsolete to you. Go get a cold shower quit rakeeya and think sober.

I will give you an allegory what you ask of Poland. It is akin of me asking Serbia to became Muslim and join Turkey - you will have a strong ally and that makes sense. Serbia and Turkey both could work nicely together - so what the problem Crow? Why don't you do it? It makes a lot of a crow-sense.

isn`t Slavic government.

Poland doesn't give a damn about Slavic. Its distant fourth if at all. Neither do Serbs, only if that could work in their favor. So stop it.

As to the topic of your thread:

He shouldn't yapp so much. It is a problem - he has little power as a president of Poland but he want it. So his main recourse whip up support by being visible and making a good impression on the Polish public.

So no, he should talk so much. He should make those statements about Russia. Its bad politics. The thing is Polish elite has been wiped out by the WWII. So some Duda who in a normal course of life would be a mayor of some city seemly knows no better.

Right now Poland should talk conciliatory talks and about wish for a good relations and mutually beneficial trade with Russia. Should talk about an extended hand of friendships and so on ...

Unfortunately, he should add, a current Russian gov is seemingly stuck in the past and cannot get over its anti-polish prejudices and complexes.
(Which by the way is nothing but the truth.)

Sadly this sort of incompetent politicians are giving Poland an appearance of a Russian-phobic ( which is not factual at all) little yapping dog, that is sometimes useful for a one of other big power to sic on Russia just to pull it back at the right moment just to score some points in a pollical game.

Being played rather than being a player - that issue should be addressed. Unfortunately in Poland voices of wisdom are seldom to be heed.
For complex reasons that has nothing to do with the topic.

News / Political life of Poland [135]

You have no idea how many times I was accused of being PiS or PO supporter if I dare to disagree with such people.

Such a partisanship is not unique to Poland. Nevertheless some issues are objectively good or bad for the interest of Poland. It doesn't matter who support what. Go by the issues not by the loud people.

I already mentioned PiS agenda in details, nothing positive about such politics at all.

It is a very judgmental dogmatic statement and not helpful at all. There is not a one wholesome solution to all the problems. An answer to problems doesn't lie in a one dimensions but more oft than not it is a much more complex issue. In short, looking for an answer or as it might be for a panacea for all the ills to be solved by applying the right formulae is a grave error. As any ideologically constructed recipe its not a science but its opposite a magical thinking. In such order of thing such ideology is no different that communism or other -isms. Not workable and not without major flaws.

There some positive or outright good things being done. PiS is such a party with a program that gets its support of the large sway of the populace of Poland. That is a fact that no amount of mopping gonna change.

5% of voters of the last elections.

Exactly. That is called a reality check. You can refuse all you want, politically you're a joke. Hence no one cares what you think. Maybe it a time to stand outside of your shell and face reality. To properly react to it rather than reject it allthoghter in the name of some idealistic dogma?

By the way don't talk for me about what I think and what I stand for. You don't know me or my views.

@Lzyko

I look at it simply can

But your personal experiences is hardly a test case. You can generalize your personal experience of course but there is always a danger of making a major error in assessment. It could be a regional thing. In my experience roads in Poland improved and keep improving and that is backed up by the stats.

Again iron, for the tens of billions supposedly spent on roads I'm simply not seeing it.

Well, except for few autobahns in east Germany that improved most of the infrastructure there is not that much better IF you consider amount of money Germany keep pumping there.

oday's polish roads are still worse than Germany's were 15 years ago

Hmm ... nah, actually is not correct - again.

Both Poland and Germany have greatly benefited from the EU.

That is not entirely true. Germany benefited more than Poland. I suppose you could put it down to Germany handling better their affairs than Poland IF NOT for one very important detail - the EU law about temporary foreign workers that curtails freedom of the common market and actually is against the EU law (or was).

Those law France and Germany want to extant in a way they will include lorry drivers. In a layman terms means that want to use legation to undercut their competition.

I wonder if that law include German or French workers in Poland - they wages should be lowered to Poland's standard or they should hire locally. Sadly PiS gov didn't go there, a fail, again!

What solution does the parties suggest?

NM - National Movement wants Poland to quite the EU. Other parties are pretty much into staying and offer no real solution and their negotiation skills left much to be desired.

@lesseronimus:
"Mentally fanatical supporters of both mayor parties are on the same level. If you disagree with them you are either traitor or a freak."

That is what you claim. Do you have any evidence to support your claim? I understand is easer to write off someone as a 'fanatical supporter" rather then seriously consider what those people are saying and where lie the truth.

I'm not even a supporter (let alone fanatical) of PiS or PO. I'm only stating the obvious - there is problem that affect citizens and democracy in Poland. PiS at the very least try to fix it. Those who are against it, are insidious and have no valid argument or a counter- proposition, all they do are using their external contacts to use foreign powers to pressure Polish gov out of the office and to stop all changes regardless of the fact if they are they beneficial to the populace of Poland or not.

That is a standard definition of a traitor and a soviet i.e. person who feels no attachment to his country of origin.

"This is you the one who mention Korwin".

However you're the one who hold his musings dear. You're not the first one of the long line people who were under the influence of the dude or one or other of this cheerleader groups called a party. I recognize symptoms of illogical bias.

"They have no authority to make such distinctions."

It is not about authority. It is about a fact. This forum is but a little and imperfect widow for those who do not speak Polish into Poland. So, oft I write for their benefit. I see no point in debating a Polish person on the English language forum.

The New York Times roundly condemns Kaczynski for the purge,

The NYT lost his credibility long ago. As for its publications about Poland they're the next level of nonsense. They are the very embodied of the term - prejudiced hatful pricks.

So it hilarious and came as a no surprise that you quote them as your source. Think for yourself if you can lol. Unfortunately there is no google address that can fix it.

@Mr Grunwald
PSL - ex-commie establishment base. Based mostly in regional bureaucracy.

PO - all kind of opportunists, generally they like to be in charge and live off corruption, scratch it and you will find mafia connections, no political standing, sucking up to neo- Marxist EU, because they don't care about corruption, bad governance as long as they can exploit Poland, and impose neo-Marxist, progressive ideology.

Kukiz15 - people who didn't want to vote PO or PiS voted on them. Generally every person hold different views.

PiS a centrist party, called conservative and patriotic because a large chunk of Poland's society who vote them hold those views and some progressive LGTB crap do not wash with them. In other words it took 40 years to brainwash 'western' societies into meekly accepting lot of its nonsense.

--
Partia Wolnosc - some BS I never heard about.

Antifa - great grandpa was installed in Poland by the Soviets, grandpa was a big shot in soviet Poland collaborating with occupiers, daddy make into banking (due to his connection with ex-commies) his son became an Antifa member and play at being 'something' - few and between of those.

ONR - people in they early 20' anti-establishment movement that took on an identity of the movement that belong in the late 30' of the 20 century. they are not fascist and they are not commies.

I assume that if my list would be skewed indeed, then you would quickly provide your own instead going ad personam.

Why so touchy? I don't know you, I don't care about your 'personam' YOUR LIST is skewed because everything to you is socialist. As compared to what - an ideal that doesn't exist in the real world?

Hence it is a legitimate question - are you some kind of cultist? Better still - are you an ideologue?

I wonder why PiS would do it.

Why Trump is bombing Syria? For the same reason - a strong internal pressure of influential groups of interest.

Any sort of purge,

It is not a purge, if only is a very small change, an attempt at reform that is badly needed. You as per usual have no idea what you're talking about.
