News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

I'm confused

The man is barking - and digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself.
I thought lawyers were trained to keep quiet on occasion. The nationalist clown Kaczynski is is going to cop for it.
This is great stuff:)

perhaps you'll actually understand that PiS cannot cripple the Constitutional Tribunal just because they want to.

Like talking to a brick wall Delph. But PIS do suffer from a collective low Intelligence Quotient so they need the EU to spell it out for them.

This business really is splendid fun!!

UK, Ireland / My bad experiences with Polish neighbours in UK (not meant to offend) [173]

ive never met such a shower of two faced/ignorant/abusive swines in all my life!

A bit unfair - except that the Polish hate the Pakistanis. "Oh! Look at those dirty immigrants!" The blatant hypocrisy is completely lost on them, and don't waste your time pointing it out to them, because they think they are above Asians for some inescapable reason only explainable by racism. Pretty disgusting, and you really couldn't make it up.

Life / Why are Poles always so miserable? Why do they never smile? [512]

Why should people smile all the time?

Mmmm Sorry, lived here 24 years now. And smiling is in short supply.

Baltic Poles especially are incredibly miserable on the morning commute. I usually take the dog to the office with me and he's the only living thing on the SKM that doesn't look as if a death sentence has just been passed on him.

It's the same story on the ride home as well.

Travel / Foosball (Table Football) bars in Krakow ? [14]

I just couldn't master the art of flicking the ball very hard

Akin to the backhand wrist-rattle in ping pong..... timing the muscle contractions.... the greatest pub game ever invented, but real dedication needed, and the old A Levels suffered as a result :((

There's a steel door on my gaffe Delph:)) Like to see the ******* get through that!

Travel / Foosball (Table Football) bars in Krakow ? [14]

Were they actually made in Brighouse,

I am pretty sure they were as a matter of fact, yes. In the 19702 every student bar throughout Britain had Brighouse tables, and I seem to remember the stamping on them. They went bust in the 1980s :( I was offered a table in mint but for 600 quid so that never got off the ground, but the shots you could pull off and the richochet rifle shot sound was ace.

The engineering and quality of the bars plus men were second to none. Happy days.
Nop other table came close

Brighouse table?

Brighouse were the dogs bollocks in Table Football machines in the late 1970s, bar none (no pun intended). Don't care what the Frogs or Italians say, their tables were gash. And my Nottingham pals got into the World Championships one year:)

History / Current Polish-Russian relations.. What do the Poles think? [60]

Serbia is not like some international pariah

Dis-honoured on the International stage for never apologising for genocide. It's really that simple for some, including me, and I have been to Serbia (for the usual reasons - she had amazing eyelashes...) Lovely people, but nationalist. Patriotic is normal, other **** is not my cup of tea.

History / Current Polish-Russian relations.. What do the Poles think? [60]

I do think that Serbia would be an excellent mediator

Rubbish. The International community is still waiting for Serbia to apologise for it's War Crimes,

Until that day all Serbia will be mediating is the toilet cleaning at it's City Halls. That's all they can be trusted with.

Now stop licking Serbian ass - you are making yourself look silly.

an investigation to punish those responsible

Yeah. If it were an opposition leader and the accident had resulted in injury the driver would have been done for speeding. Obviously there is more to this accident than we know.

Aren't you ashamed of your ignorance?

Gregy and the PIS trolls ashamed of their ignorance? Wait a minute.......... did you see the Andrew Marr show on Sunday? He asked an American (black) actress if she thought Donald Trump was a serious politician.

She laughed loudly for all of 45 seconds, and Marr said "I'll take that as a 'No, shall I?"

Insert same here for these Berkshire hunts.

Classifieds / Random Classifieds Ads Poland [261]

I have a great deal for you guys!

It's a bit akin to a girlfriend who used to walk around London with "Benneton" emblazoned over her (ample) breasts.

Only appealing to plebians (the slogans - the gf's breasts were fabulous)

I don't love Poland at the moment.

Same old witch-hunt nonsense, as an excuse not to work to put conditions in place to improve peoples' day to day lives.

the state is controlled by people who only have Party loyalty as their experience.

A tad akin to the Nazis. Except that PIS haven't started imprisoning their own (Eric Rohm style) and sadly are unlikely to do so:)

News / The dossier of TW "Bolek" - Poland's IPN assisted by police enters the home of the late general Kiszczak [306]

only hardcore commies defend walesa, those who were with him back then, regard him as traitor.

Walesa a traitor? Grow up boy.

All the others were cowering and frightened, while Walesa and his ilk actually acted, and acted without fear for their own skins.

And what about the Kiszcaks of this world? Him and the general were Russians in disguise. If they had been British they would have been lucky to escape execution, and that's an absolute given.

(.....Walesa......) I would just let him be, provided he would stop forthcoming with opinions about political situation in Poland.

What? And why would that be?

he did not destroy Poland's industrial assets that way your beloved ex-PZPR man Balcer did.

Have you ever been to Slask Polonius? I don't think so. It's a wasteland - and if the old industries were still pouring out their toxic pollutants the country would be bankrupt - IMF style - all over again.

Don't speak of subjects that you clearly know nothing about.

It seems that the "good change" actually involves people losing their inheritances.

But it depends where that land is. I am for compulsory purchase in some cases - where the leaseholder refuses to sell, holding out for a mythical price, and so ruining the landscape for one and all.

I notice that PiS are now starting to talk about putting President Wałęsa on trial.

Civil disobedience.

Walesa is a hero who earned the world's admiration. End of.

When it comes down to their word against his, PIS are the traitors. I would be out on the streets and my dog would be put on fighting mode.

PIS are dangerous k un ter kintes and we need to fight them..

Polonius - I was here in communist times. Were you? I saw how the Poles whimpered and were frightened, and with good reason.
And who were threatening them?

Other Poles.

In Britain that would have meant Civil war. History will reflect that Walesa and his ilk are the heroes. For remaining calm and negotiating a ground-breaking settlement with the communist Scum.

Yet nobodys like the Kaczynskis dared to question that? Time for action methinks, and to put these dangerous nobody jokers in their place.

**** a duck.

Walesa is a far greater man than the Kaczynskis and their mob put together. He may not be an academic, but was clearly brave, motivational, and could take decisions, while remaining calm and sensible.

Only ten years before the Zomo had murdered his co-workers in the Food Riots - who was to say worse couldn't befall the shipyards and mines this time around. Wujek coal-mine was bad enough, but history tells us that Walsa's softly-softly approach was bang on.

As to "Agent" - a lot of people got themselves in ****, and (were forced) to sign papers they shouldn't have as a Get Out of Jail Free card. The Geremeks of this world (and who would criticise such a figure) actually went further along that road to enable himself an education.

Who are the fools here?
I'll give a clue - one of them killed 90 plus people through his arrogance.

Life / Whats up with Polish guys getting drunk and looking for a fight? [60]

That's because WE DON'T WANT THESE PEOPLE HERE

So - what would have happened if the Romanians had closed their border in 1939 and told Poles to bugger off? You speak excellent English Grzegorz so you will be cognisant with the English term "Batting on a sticky wicket"? Also known as, you're talking bull.

PS MODS - this ON topic because I am on-topic - as to the 3 city pub culture, and when I am not staring perversely at the barmaids, I am always ready for a snarl at the refugee question.

Of course no rude words or threats are exchanged but the atmosphere of aggression is sadly there. In answer to the thread, there is LITTLE aggression in Polish pubs, as opposed to the UK.

I should know. i could build another house with what I have spent in pubs here:)

the majority are self-serving racists".

Yep. Racist. Absolutely.

Ask 1000 Poles what their feelings are about the refugees from Syria and the overwhelming majority wiil say " We don't want those people here. It is not our problem, and they are a different culture, and shouldn't be here (in Europe). Send them back - to fight, or die."

Racism is a kind word anyway. Blind ignorance and hatred would be closer to the mark. I can forgive the first, but not the second.

Poles who have graciously allowed you to live in Poland with them for "23 years

Go and do one. I've paid more in tax money than you might earn in ten years. I have contributed and am entitled.

You? Polonia can go suck an egg (I am on 4 warnings so can't say what I really feel about Polish scum).

Oh wait - I just did:)

the majority inhabitants of Poland

Let me put it this way....

When a Pole talks about "dirty/disease carrying/muslim/dark skinned/terrorist" (delete as applicable) foreigners, then I will cancel those racists from my friends list.

I wont associate with, make love to, or drink with racists.

Thanks.

People like you!

Wulkan is a weirdo on this board. Don't worry about him Mike - and come to the Tri-city of Gdansk. People here are normal and I guarantee you a welcome. As to the rest of Poland - yes, the majority are self-serving racists, and after 23 years here I despair of them.
