News / Poland's post-election political scene [4080]

As to Shirley Watts' two horses dying at Janow....

theguardian.com/world/2016/apr/08/purge-at-polands-renowned-stud-farms-pits-politicians-against-rich-and-famous

Note the use of " Poland's new nationalist government..." The third of those words being a derog in the English language......

Every bloody day embarrassing news comes out of Poland now. Don't people have any pride? Oh wait!

That's what the world was saying in the 80s.

Absolutely disgraceful.

News / Abortion still under control in Poland [2986]

But it is the government isn't it. A PIS government let the NeoCon clergy dictate to them. The clergy don't know any better but the government on the other hand should legislate.

Life / Do Polish people have a good ear for music? [90]

Hurrah! That giant of the music world - Sting - is coming to Sopot Opera Lesna this summer:)

Prices start at 800 zl - I will be going - if they accept dog.

So that dog can bite the twat in the gonads and raise his falsetto:))))

you are committing a transgression

Kondzior, nobody will ever win this argument. But the individual rules her own body, and within reasonable guidelines such as are in place in the free world, (and I absolutely include backward catholic diktat in that group) she should be left alone to exercise her human rights.

That is my view, and I don't wish to start a debate, but only that the church is not wanted by the majority in present day Poland in government and are hell bent on scoring a spectacular own-goal if they don't back-track.

Someone needs to drill it into the Polish clergy's thick skulls that this is not communism, and their day of omnipresence is past.
At the moment, Polish girls head off to the Netherlands in distress, akin to the sixties in Britain. It really is a disgrace, as are the huge numbers of unwanted babies. Not that I know anything of it, but it is yet another symptom of attempted government interference in people's lives.

You would say

But the pro-choice lobby are not telling people how to run their lives. There's the difference.
It's called freedom of the individual, and that's the world I choose to live in.

PS As Poland is in the EU, Szydlo and her creepish coterie should be put bang to rights.

Then she is objectively pro-rape

In the words of the immortal Brian Clough (sic) " I couldn't possibly say what I think (of Beata Szydlo) because we'd be closed down".

The morning-after abortion pill is highly toxic especially to juveniles and can cause permanent sterility and other health issues.

LOL. That's why it is called "the morning after pill." By the time the woman had hesitated about arguing the toss with the doctor, it would be too late.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with this.

Not interesting - disgusting.

Another episode of Poland being dragged screaming into the 20th century - a full 100 years behind more enlightened countries in so many ways.

Meanwhile, the labrador will continue to be walked and entertained, off his lead, but womens' fundamental rights to pro-choice will be ridden roughshod over in this scum conservative post communist world that some Poles want to return to.

The real people to blame are the Radio Maria listening women who genefluct before these criminal "catholic" priests, who are misrepresenting the Gospels and spreading hate.

There is never ever an answer to the question of abortion - so let those who will, do what they have to do, just as we all do as we please in our own anarchic way. If somebody wants to kill their unborn baby at an early stage, that's their regret, and their business, and they are judged by Him, not by some pathetic NeoCon government, whose members never have to worry about the scenario of (poor mum to dad) " Don't give the fecking baby lard again, you fecking idiot."

(Angry anti- PIS clergy) Rant over.

If somebody wants to kill their unborn baby

My shame - and the shame of these scum who support this Bill. I meant "Is more often than not desperate and feels she has little alternative."

No woman in the world says " I'm bored - what shall I do today......I know! I'll go and have an abortion! That'll be a laugh."

Gotta, say as time goes on that's looking smarter and smarter....

Rubbish. The terrorists could enter Poland any time they want:( Nothing to do with the question of refugees, and you know it.

engaging in sabotage and undermining Poland's international image.

You are having a laugh surely Polonius?

The scum behaviour in refusing to contribute to the refugee crisis by offering money to the refugee camps was one disgrace, as was the overtly racist outcry and dehumanisation over a minimalist quota of 7,000 refugees.

As if that didn't damage Poland's image abroad enough, there is also the small matter of the attempted political rearranging the highest court in the land and messing with the media.

All known as, Poland being back in it's rightful place as the laughing stock in Europe, behind Hungary, Romania and Slovakia - but those countries aren't on the diplomatic radar anyway - Poland IS supposed to be a modern country with humanitarian values - or it WAS, until this nationalist braying mob got voted in by the illiterate in society for their short stay.

the besieged government

And why are they besieged? is this a normal state of affairs? Only a government with such disrespect for the law could make such a mockery of democracy.

This is going to be such fun, just like 2006 all over again.

why the President feels that it's appropriate to be driven around at high speed on open public roads.

Someone told me that vehicles on diplomatic plates can override the speed limit in Poland? Shirley not?

And from the moment I saw that vid it was clear to my trained eye that the car was surpassing 130 k.

Life / St Patrick's day in Poland [272]

I wouldn't advise you to go in any case as you don't like Irish music.

Yes, thanks! I had overlooked that (otherwise obvious) consideration. I do know from good authority that said Gdynia pub is absolutely packed on this one night of the year as the plastics come out of the woodwork:)

Excellent. There's a St Patrick's Day bash at the Irish Pub here - but they suggested I leave dog at home so we're not going.

A drinkie without the hound is an evening wasted.

I'm confused

The man is barking - and digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself.
I thought lawyers were trained to keep quiet on occasion. The nationalist clown Kaczynski is is going to cop for it.
This is great stuff:)

perhaps you'll actually understand that PiS cannot cripple the Constitutional Tribunal just because they want to.

Like talking to a brick wall Delph. But PIS do suffer from a collective low Intelligence Quotient so they need the EU to spell it out for them.

This business really is splendid fun!!

UK, Ireland / My bad experiences with Polish neighbours in UK (not meant to offend) [173]

ive never met such a shower of two faced/ignorant/abusive swines in all my life!

A bit unfair - except that the Polish hate the Pakistanis. "Oh! Look at those dirty immigrants!" The blatant hypocrisy is completely lost on them, and don't waste your time pointing it out to them, because they think they are above Asians for some inescapable reason only explainable by racism. Pretty disgusting, and you really couldn't make it up.

Life / Why are Poles always so miserable? Why do they never smile? [512]

Why should people smile all the time?

Mmmm Sorry, lived here 24 years now. And smiling is in short supply.

Baltic Poles especially are incredibly miserable on the morning commute. I usually take the dog to the office with me and he's the only living thing on the SKM that doesn't look as if a death sentence has just been passed on him.

It's the same story on the ride home as well.

Travel / Foosball (Table Football) bars in Krakow ? [14]

I just couldn't master the art of flicking the ball very hard

Akin to the backhand wrist-rattle in ping pong..... timing the muscle contractions.... the greatest pub game ever invented, but real dedication needed, and the old A Levels suffered as a result :((

Travel / Foosball (Table Football) bars in Krakow ? [14]

Were they actually made in Brighouse,

I am pretty sure they were as a matter of fact, yes. In the 19702 every student bar throughout Britain had Brighouse tables, and I seem to remember the stamping on them. They went bust in the 1980s :( I was offered a table in mint but for 600 quid so that never got off the ground, but the shots you could pull off and the richochet rifle shot sound was ace.

The engineering and quality of the bars plus men were second to none. Happy days.
Nop other table came close

Brighouse table?

Brighouse were the dogs bollocks in Table Football machines in the late 1970s, bar none (no pun intended). Don't care what the Frogs or Italians say, their tables were gash. And my Nottingham pals got into the World Championships one year:)

History / Current Polish-Russian relations.. What do the Poles think? [60]

Serbia is not like some international pariah

Dis-honoured on the International stage for never apologising for genocide. It's really that simple for some, including me, and I have been to Serbia (for the usual reasons - she had amazing eyelashes...) Lovely people, but nationalist. Patriotic is normal, other **** is not my cup of tea.

History / Current Polish-Russian relations.. What do the Poles think? [60]

I do think that Serbia would be an excellent mediator

Rubbish. The International community is still waiting for Serbia to apologise for it's War Crimes,

Until that day all Serbia will be mediating is the toilet cleaning at it's City Halls. That's all they can be trusted with.

Now stop licking Serbian ass - you are making yourself look silly.

Yeah. If it were an opposition leader and the accident had resulted in injury the driver would have been done for speeding. Obviously there is more to this accident than we know.

Aren't you ashamed of your ignorance?

Gregy and the PIS trolls ashamed of their ignorance? Wait a minute.......... did you see the Andrew Marr show on Sunday? He asked an American (black) actress if she thought Donald Trump was a serious politician.

She laughed loudly for all of 45 seconds, and Marr said "I'll take that as a 'No, shall I?"

Insert same here for these Berkshire hunts.

Classifieds / Random Classifieds Ads Poland [261]

I have a great deal for you guys!

It's a bit akin to a girlfriend who used to walk around London with "Benneton" emblazoned over her (ample) breasts.

Only appealing to plebians (the slogans - the gf's breasts were fabulous)
