History / What do Poles owe to Hungarians? [275]

In my youth I saw the affinity between Poles and Hungarians.
Despite the fact that Hungarians are not Slavs i saw a connection.
I have known one of my oldest friends since we were 15 years old.
He was of Hungarian descent, me of Polish descent.
We went to school together, worked together and even went on holiday together.
He was always welcomed into my Polish family home as I was into his Hungarian family home.
We are still in touch despite the fact that he has lived in America for many years now.
My question is this.
Do you think that this Polish/Hungarian link still exists?

It is up to Israel to decide where tbey stand.

The great majority of Poles feel no collective guilt about the holocaust

And they have no reason to.
If the Jews really feel they have some claim to compensation after over 60 years they should be talking to Germany and not to Poland.

A Slavic Chicago that does not include Serbs.
By far, the majority of Slavs in Chicago are of Polish or Ukrainian descent.
Serbs are not included or welcomed there.

Listen guys, I think we need to agree to disagree on this very emotive subject of fairly recent Polish history.
The Warsaw Uprising was a mistake by the people in command.
But that takes nothing away from the peoples bravery on the frontline, many of whom lost their lives.
Rich, disobeying dumb orders was not an option.

Jewish Poles

I have a problem with that term.
Why "Jewish Poles", why not just "Poles" ?
Why do you have to seperate them because of religion?
Makes no sense to me.
