Silesian Vladislau, to my best knowledge, played by that action film actor, Bronson. And their commander, too, played by Lee Marvin.
That film was so late on the screen in Poland because it was colour while all Polish war films from 1960s and early 1970s were black and white.

There is probably a scene in the movie where his colleagues ask him if this (rope climbing) was taught like that in the Polish army, specifically in the navy.
