I posted a few months ago, but I dyed my hair to my natural color and I wasn't sure if this changed anyone's opinion of what I look like. I'm always told I don't look American, whatever that means, haha. I'm commonly told I look Eastern European, but I think that's fairly generalized. Also, my hair has lightened a little after being dyed. It's like a light brown.

yes you do not look American - and hmm you really look Eastern European - I would still go further and say that you look very Polish

Heheh, I'm about 60% Polish. :) My dad is 75% and I look very much like him. His dad (my grandpa) was 100% and his mom is 50%. My other grandpa (on my mom's side) is 50% Polish and my grandma on my mom's side has some Polish as well.

However, my ancestry consists of:
Polish
French
Italian (Sicilian)
German
Danish
English
Dutch
Irish (possibly... like 1% lol)

but you still look very Polish ;) or maybe Ukrainian but rather not Russian
perhaps Czechs would also see you as their own (but not sure of that)

Dutch

See, I knew where those eyes came frome :)

I like eyes of which one is just a teeny-weeny bit more focused at the centre. It's hard to explain, but I will see if I can find an example of what I mean:

Her left eye is a little bit more focused towards the centre of her face. Or is it that the eyes are in an identical position? Anyway, she is Polish, Jane Kaczmarek from Malcolm in the Middle. I don't find her really attractive, but it was about the eyes. And I like eyes like that very much. Doesn't matter what colour they have.

Edit: could this be a Polish thing? Hm, no don't think so, have seen it with some Dutch girls too.

I appreciate the input so far; thank you! :) I'm very much into genealogy, so I'm desperately trying to figure what region I can trace my physical appearance to.

No Trooper, you make ME laugh.

I understand what you mean. Before I couldn't tell much difference between Asians, but after having embracing some Asian studies I do. I am a half Greek and half Pole. My Greek side gave me dark hair and eyes and Polish side pale white skin. lol. Nonetheless I hate it when people compare all the Slavic nations together. Get over it people, they're not the same. Especially Poland which is half Tartaric and half Slavic. Also for those combining the Southern Slavs, you should probably go there and see for yourself, many of them look Mediteranean and have different Slavic features than those of the north.

So you look like a corpse? Or like an Irish? Or just plain scary?

:))

Can I go?

What do you people think, I am half Greek and half Polish with genetic roots that are full 100% on each side and not mixed with exterior haplogroups.

Essentially my skin is much paler that this, this was during the summer when I went out a lot and to the beach. Now my skin is much the opposite. :-/

I attached the picture.

So you look like a corpse?

haha, my naked body looks like a corpse. See, I am anti-sun. When I do go out only my face and arms show. (I'm not to fond of getting tans or taking my shirt off. If you were to see me naked however (lol) you would see the skin color differences.

Hello :) I've been reading this thread and I find it very interesting, so I would like you to tell me do I look Polish or if not, what do you think I come from, because people are telling me that I look the certain way... So, what do you think? :)

As you know, my family is polish, hungarian, english and little bit german. I have carried a lot of my families hungarian features. Dark hair and eyes. My english family has reaaallly curly blackish hair and blue eyes. germans have light light brown hair and blue eyes. the poles have blonde/brown/black hair, almost all have blue grey eyes. while the hungarians have dark hair and eyes. very very very few have blue eyes. if any lol.

Do you think i look... Polish?German?Hungarian?English?

I'm mainly Polish and 1/8 German. I don't look Polish at all lol. Most of my friends tell me I look English/Scottish or just Canadian. The only thing about me which looks Polish is my bright blue eyes, thats about it. I don't have high cheekbones or defined facial features. My face is a bit round and I don't have a aquiline nose or anything. I also have dark dark brown head hair and my facial hair is orange/blonde, which is kinda odd considering my head hair is dark brown.

Bratwurst Boy

Hm, I can't decide by looking at these pictures, I'm 1/4 Polish, 1/4 Greek and 1/2 Serbian, but half of my family has blonde hair and blue eyes, and the other half brown hair and green/hazel eyes - as do I. I have fair skin and I am quite tall (183cm), but that is a dominant trade in my family :)

Same thing with my family. All the women on my dads side of the family are over 5'11". I'm 6'1" so I'm not that much bigger!

It is an interesting thing, that Slavic people are generally considered tall, I think that I didn't stand a chance, because my ancestors come from Montenegro and Hercegovina, where people are generally considered very tall. I'm not sure about my family from Poland, they are of average height. It kinda fascinates me how people usually think I'm from Russia, because I don't look Russian to myself, that is why I asked you all here, but I'm guessing it's the cheekbones and eyes maybe...

I think you are still too young to see, your face can change a lot in the next few years; right now, I can say that you could pass as any of these nationalities you've mentioned.
