Love / My polish girlfriend has changed following death of dad.. [153]

I agree with Magdalena. Your girlfriend's world has fallen apart. Not everyone wants to be close to someone else at a time like that. On the contrary, some people feel like they don't want to love again because it hurts so bad to lose someone. That might be why she is pulling away. And she's probably just so sad and she can't be anything for you right now.

If you really love her, you should just call her and ask her how she's doing and let her know that you're there for her if she needs you. You shouldn't leave her unless she asks you to. Her mourning won't last forever.

Love / The relationships with the Polish girls? "Platonic friendship." [36]

In the first date I tried to kiss her but nothing happened. I got very close to her but she didn’t react or moved to that. She didn’t even blink. It never happened to me before. I m really shocked.

Can you explain this scene better? What was happening when you tried to kiss her? Did she look at you when you tried to kiss her? What happened right afterwards? Did she say anything or did she act like it never happened? How long afterwards did the date end?

Food / Good Polish Wines [74]

Warm? Hmm. Sounds good. I ended up finding some Polish wine in my area and the taste reminds me of cough syrup. But I like one called Nalewka Babuni, Cherry flavor. I like mixing it with 7-Up.

Love / Does she like me? - help needed please from any Polish girls.. [79]

All women know when a man has feelings for her.

I disagree with the idea that all women know when a man has feelings for her. There are some men that hide it well. They never give any signals and they act like they're okay with just being friends. And some women believe them.

If a man is going to walk away from a woman just because she rejected him, he was obviously only using her. He didn't really love her. He just wanted one thing from her. Love doesn't just go away like that. She's going to feel hurt and deceived, too, if he led her to believe that he was a true friend.

Love / Does she like me? - help needed please from any Polish girls.. [79]

luhif, I am stunned. If I were you I would have thought she had romantic feelings. It was very naive of her to get so close to a man like that if she had no feelings.

My advice is that if you really love her, you shouldn't just walk away. Love doesn't just go away. It stays and endures. Keep being the amazing person you are with her. You never know what will happen in the future.

Love / why is the older women such a problem for polish guys [37]

Age is not a problem for all Polish men. I suspect his family is just one of those families that happens to have a problem with it.

I don't agree that you should leave him over this. You only live once and no one has any guarantees. Just have fun.

Yes, don't rush things unless it's been too long now and it needs to be either yes or no. But if you wait too long to make a move she might think you don't like her. It's all about the right timing for your situation.

Why don't you just ask her how she feels about you? If you're too shy to ask her in person, do it through an email or a letter. Just say something simple like, "are your feelings for me purely friendship or do you feel something more? I'm just curious."

Maybe she's dying to tell you that she loves you but she's too shy to do it.

(that's for both guys who asked for advice)

Love / I'm in love with a nice Polish; she's from another country and religion.. [39]

yes she said that she will stay with me no matter because her family dosnt decide for her life !!!! but im just worried , i dont want to make any troubles in her life ..

You're not the one who would be making trouble in her life. It would be her family if they don't accept you.

Work / Americans teaching english...your help please! [51]

Or does anyone know of a deferment option, or someother possibility?

Are your loans government loans? The government allows different kinds of deferments like unemployment, low income and maybe some others. They're easy to get. Just ask your lender.

Love / Does she like me? - help needed please from any Polish girls.. [79]

Has she ever said anything to you that seemed romantic, even jokingly, like about how good looking you are or about something you've done that is attractive? It just seems weird that she talks to you for hours but has never sent you any romantic signals. Some women do think of certain men as just friends and they can continue that way forever without ever developing romantic feelings. It could be that she does like you but it could also be that she only thinks of you as a friend. It's hard to tell without more information about her behavior.

But whatever the case may be, there's always the chance that she'll realize that she loves you because you've been such a good friend. Just hang in there.

Love / Dating a Polish girl - need some advice [45]

i dont know much about polish people but us dominicans like to show we care she doesnt like showing her emotions and she think am imature because of that in a way.

I agree with Cropeck. She's very young and maybe she's not ready to become too serious. But I also think her lack of emotions is going to become a problem for you eventually. You're going to miss having a stronger emotional connection to someone.

Love / My polish boyfriend and i love one another -- dilema, advice please. [16]

i think i will telll him that one of us has to make a decision to be with the other if he ,for whatever reason is not able to come here by the end of march then i will go to him-i think this is the only decsion otherwise the relationship will not survive.

My opinion is that if he isn't coming to you, then you should definitely go to him like you suggested. But I think it should be out of love. I don't think he should be told that he has to make a decision. It sounds so harsh like that. Real love shouldn't be so conditional, that if he doesn't do what you want then it will not survive. It may be true but it's not the way to handle love. That's just my opinion.

Love / The meaning of a gift in a lovely bag in Poland - given after Valentines day? [7]

What do you think his gift meant, if anything at all?

It sounds like a lovely gift, like he really put some thought into it. The pink ribbon and the kitchen items make me think that he is seeing you as feminine and not like just any ordinary friend.

You're not the first adult to have a parent like yours but if you don't do what you really want despite your mother, you're going to look back at your life someday and regret that you didn't choose love when it was there and when you had the chance.

Genealogy / Has anyone taken Genealogy DNA tests? [87]

The company Family Tree DNA is good because they keep your records in their database and they tell you when you have a match with someone. Other companies just do the test. FTDNA even has a Polish project that you can join. Someone gave the link the other day (see zaleski's post)

Love / I'm daying a Polish Guy and I wanna know... [55]

it sounds good and idyllic to know two languages and I suppose it is but there has been research (by whom, I have no idea) but in young children who speak a different language at home, they are slower at reading and writing skills in class. Later in life, I know it is nice to be able to go abroad and have that certain advantage over other people.

I agree that some kids struggle when they speak two languages. I spoke 2 languages as a child, one of them being English, but I was the smartest student in my English class. However, it was more of a struggle for me to get those high grades because I always confused the 2 languages.

As an adult you get paid more money in the workplace if you can speak more than one language. So, it's smart to teach your kids a second language. You'll only be helping their futures.

Love / Polish Women get a lot of love [43]

Even her friends know it won't last but they don't say anything as will I not

this is a wise choice, to just hang in there and wait and see what happens. maybe she will see that he's not the one and she'll be free eventually to pursue.
