Hi guys, I'm dating a girl from Poland and I'm wanting to move to be with her, I'm a chef by trade and am currently learning the polish language but am still very new to it. I was wondering how difficult it would be to find chef work as a foreigner with little polish, the area we want to live is quite close to krakow, thank you

Unless youre from the EU, you wont be working without a permit. Krakow though, if you can work should not be a problem as a chef. Depends on what kind of chef you are, and level of training though. Lots of new restaurants.

Hey, thank you for replying so fast. I should've mentioned i'm from the EU and have like 10 years experience in kitchens. I know it's easy usually to walk into any kitchen and work but i wasn't sure about poland.

Hi guys, I'm dating a girl from Poland and I'm wanting to move to be with her,

Changing countries because you are "in love" is an extremely bad idea. Just as tattooing "I love Mary".

Today your are. In a year, you or she will not be.

Also, women lie all the time...When she says "I love you", she means l love your paycheck and reliability...

In five years, she will be bored with what she loved so much five years ago and will leave you because you were nice and reliable.

Look at the stories you make up here. Write a novel.

Yes, unless you are married and have a plan, just because you like a girl, sounds like a bad idea unless that is your excuse.

I'd ask on an 'expats in Poland' Facebook group if I were you. Maybe 'Irish in Poland' or something? As you can see from some of the replies so far (and in other threads), this place is a cesspit and a large proportion of the members just spend their time spouting xenophobic crap at each other. Many of them haven't even lived in Poland for decades, they're boomers living in other countries.

In Poland, I've seen cooks not speaking Polish at all at a restaurant / pub. Only a waitress spoke Polish; the two cooks spoke in their native language (probably Hindu).

They are probably in PL on a visa as specialists in Indian food.

Pretty low wages too; kitchen staff do not get well paid in PL.

You wont have any trouble in Krakow. Chef is hard position to fill, and they are paying pretty well. If you have talent, you can make great money.

From what I understand, it's not unheard of for kitchen staff to have trouble getting paid money they are earned when dishonest restaurant owners decide they're closing the place down.
