Registering marriage/new passport nightmare

Hi all,

I feel stuck in a loop and would love any advice regarding this situation.

I reside in England and have done since 2003. I do not have British Citizenship and currently only have an invalid Polish passport as this ran out a few years back.

The issue is as below:
I need a new Polish passport in my married name as this is the name I have been using since getting married in 2018. In order to get this, I need to register my marriage with the consul and get a Polish copy of marriage certificate.

I have emailed the embassy to confirm what the process is for this and they advised what documents I need, however this includes a valid Polish Passport or ID card which I cannot obtain without the Polish copy of marriage certificate.

I was thinking of getting a passport in my maiden name and then just get that changed once we have the polish copy of the marriage cert but I am unsure if this is allowed as I have not used that name in years. To make matters more complicated, at the time of getting married, I for some reason changed my surname to my married name via deedpoll (married young, followed bad advice) so unsure if this adds even more issue with getting a passport in my maiden name for the time being.

Has anyone dealt with this? Any advice is welcome.
