Pot in Poland for tourists

In Poland, the police will send a pipe off for analysis to try and find a few micrograms of residue. One reason it's really not worth taking the risk of carrying any in public.

That is interesting. As far as I was aware smoking pot wasn't illegal. Possession is. So residue would be useless

That's what they're trying to prove. It happened to someone I know in Warsaw. Stopped and searched at night in the city centre, prosecuted and fined for a minute trace of unburnt THC in the residue.

I would expect to read about something so silly in the papers

Silly and often unjust prosecutions happen daily; they rarely make the news, especially if they're within the law.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

True and they happen everywhere but a residue is not possession so in my opinion it's not within the law. And I can see that happening only if someone had a problem with that indiidual

I doubt his case is unique. A shame; it caused him problems, and he was a thoroughly good person.

Idk about illinois exactly but its probably very similar. When i lived in ohio the fine was like $100-$500 for possession under 100 grams which i couldnt believe. This was before legalization in illinois so i was stoked that having a few oz on you is a felony in one state yet a mere traffic type citation. Oddly enough, the part i lived in had crappy reggie weed and having good proper hydro was rare and super expensive. That changed quickly ; )

Lenka the cops will try to get anything they can. If they can send a pipe to the lab and if it detects weed or whatever the prosecutor will def use that.

I remember hearing that in poland there is a penalty for smoking weed around people. So if ur smoking a joint on a bench and other people are around and a cop catches you there may be additional charges besides just possession.

Weirdly enough the weed laws seemed on paper more lax under prl than afterwards. Not many people were smoking back then though. The more popular drugs bacl then were "polish heroin," relanium which is like valium, and solvents.

As long as you behave discreetly and normally and don't look like a drunk juvenile hiphop fan, you won't have any problems.
I'm a bit old but I still smoke weed in parks and at concerts for many many years and I have never had a problem.

In Warsaw, there is no problem with getting a weed.
There are many dealers who trade on e-mail basis or f2f deal.
A lot of young people speak English and if you want to smoke weed you will find a plug.
The golden rule: do not pay in advance. don't go over western union.

I also do not understand the approach of my fellow countrymen, who respond to every request for a weed in Poland, in the form that you will be arrested immediately.

I remember seeing that video. Dude had a hell of a setup - pneumatic doors to keep it hush hush, high end feed tanks and filtration, nice lights. It looks like an engineer built it not some stoner growers. Poland is finally becoming a player in the trade. Back when I was younger the most you could get was some overpriced black/brown hash and ****** amp rolls. Now you can get pounds of anything you want in every major city. One thing that surprises me is how much coke there is all over Poland given the logistics, fairly limited market, and price.

However, sooner or later such guys are caught. One courier/delivery guy is enough to track down the whole group - the police don`t even have to arrest him or her - they can fix a radio transmitter to their car and finito.

At least they were smart enough to keep the cash and weed in separate locations since it looks like no large amount of money was confiscated.

It has gotton a lot worse since the China virus outbreak.
Coke is a whole different ball game (animal) then marijuana, it kills.
Cocaine is a drug (not like alcohol or weed) that never gets you there and you always need more.

That's exactly how a few of the more established 'businesspeople' have been caught over the years. That and by being grassed up to police by associates.

From what I've seen and/or been around in Poland, the top drugs in terms of popularity/availability are as follows (not including alcohol):

1) Marijuana - by far... I remember reading a poll where something like a quarter of Polish youth admit to smoke at least a few times a year. It's sold in weird quantities like half g, g, 5g's, etc. If you told someone I want an 8th they'd get confused. Also, the way some people smoke it is weird - they smoke it in tiny amounts at a time through this crack pipe looking thing sold at headshops and kiosks. Then they just toss the pipe once they're done so they don't get caught carrying one plus it's super cheap so not a huge deal.

2) Amphetamines (not ice/meth, but white powdery amphetamine)... What put Poland on the scene!! Polish amphetamine is arguably the best in the world. A ton of it is exported now to the UK, Holland, Germany, etc. However, it's amps not meth. If someone brought a bunch of amphetamine and methylated it they'd own the market.

3) Bath salts/synthetic marijuana - technically the most available since it's sold in kiosks and head shops... very close to 2nd in terms of popularity... nasty ****... looks like some herb/s oregano sprayed with God knows what... or random white powders also sprayed with God knows what. This has become a big problem for ER personnel. They'll get a guy kicking and screaming and it takes 5 dudes to hold him down and they have no clue how to reverse it.

4) Cocaine - cheaper than USA, but expensive by Polish standards. Still, I see quite a bit of it going around from Warsaw to the little suburbs, often used by kibole, mid/upper middle class teens and college kids, etc. It doesn't quite have the like reputation for being a high class drug for stockbrokers, businessmen, high end escorts, etc.

5) Ecstasy and club drugs (although shrooms and acid don't seem to be too popular) - Rolls are quite popular and can be purchased at just about any rave, concert, and techno club. A lot of the times though it's not real mdma/mda/mdae/mde/etc. but just pressed amphetamine/methamphetamine with some caffeine or whatever as a binding agent

5) Heroin - use to be very popular and one of the most popular drugs when "Polish Kompot" was prevalent. It started waning in the 90's to the point where it's quite rare now. The heroin going around now is called "brown sugar.' Not sure if it's no 3 or d type though. The heroin in Poland appears to mostly be in transit to other markets like Germany, France or maybe even the Scandinavian countries where the amount of users is a lot higher and people have more money.

6) Pills like oxycontin, Xanax, etc. - "Relanium" which was basically E Euro valium use to be super popular, but not so much anymore. You can buy codeine over the counter in Poland. Nonetheless, people don't really like abuse pills and there isn't a market for pills like in the USA where oxycontin, Adderall, Xanax, etc. are sold by side with other drugs by the dealers.

7) I'm sure there's more.... I cant think of,....

This is true. Most people here can't skin up at all, even if they smoke regularly.
