I love Poland, but...

It's really hard to say in this country, because of **** politics here. I consider immigration. I sometimes feel like I don't fit here, mentally, culturally and even to some degree lookswise.

i feel the same and not due to the politics but the people. i just cant stand them. Its as if 28-30 if the ones I meet are hard headed, never wemit to when they are wrong and always have to have the last word again even when they are wrong and just love to argue. also the customer service and not just at zabkas but even at restaurants. they gave me once old tuna in a sushi once in this place in Gdansk off the beaten path a bit from the old town where no one was at and wouldn't even replace it or try it themselves when i complained. what country does that? sells old tuna or fish in sushi to customers?

@LostSoul
If you judge a country (not state you mean?) by it's politics. Let me tell you, it's no different in other places. It's actually worse, just a lot more smiles and better rhetorical trainers.

Focus on the things you love :)
@Strzelec35
Every shop does that, trust me I have worked in one. The oldest are put at the front and clueless customers buy it without checking the expiration dates. Sloppy shop-workers and unpopular products sometimes get then sold that way before being thrown out.

Start reading labels (nutrition value, what they are, what they do to you and ingredients) you might get a shock. Most products contain suger for it to last longer. And remember what the dentist says about it effects on teeth... Now imagine it having same effect on your inner organs...

what is crazy is that they wont even offer to replace the old sushi or one time they even made coffee with water like americano and tried to pass it off as a cappuccino this new chick who works at that Warsaw radio telewizja cafe bookshop place and in every other country if you point out how cappuccinos are not made with water but milk or complain they themselves offer to make new versions or refund they dont argue with you and in here you have to threaten probably sanepid for them to even stop arguing and give you the right **** or produce the right **** on your table as the customer. have any of you found yourself in any first world countries where you are given old sushi or coffee with water passed off as a cappuccino?

actually I take it back there is nothing i like about this country besides only two things: the justice system and cops not being usa or what exists in usa and its cheap. nothing else. i still dont know how to deal with them or what to do if im given old sushi or something in the future.

Poloniusz,

no this was at a restaurant. but i didn't make it a big deal because the other sushi were food it was only two sushi that had the flavor of tuna that were bad out of like 8-10 but still thats unacceptable in the first world. ask any Americans here or even Brits. they should right away kiss your ass replace the sushi free of charge and apologise hoping you dont call sanepid or something. thats how its done in every country but Poland or every civilized first world country.

I sometimes feel like I don't fit here, mentally, culturally and even to some degree lookswise.

So what would your ideal society be like so that you could "feel" like you fit in?

I consider immigration. I sometimes feel like I don't fit here, mentally, culturally and even to some degree lookswise.

It's confusing... "Consider" means you are not there yet or not permanently. "I don't fit here" means that you are already in Poland. Which is it?

I could write a book on this subject, so my bottom line is: switching countries is not for everybody. You really want to join the people on the other side, not their politics, lakes, and mountains. Those tend to disappear in a week or sooner.

Think marriage. Would you want to marry someone because another person said, why not?
Your hesitation means only one thing. Don't.

im definitely out of here.

Strzelec, I wish you the very best but those "ifs" and the rest are depressing.
Did you consider meeting LostSoul? I don't see any downside.

Bali is a great place for digital nomads. Of all places I've been to, south east asia is better place to live.. nice beaches, tropics, welcoming people and better value for my $$

or digital nomad im definitely out of here.

A lot of digital nomads (meaning ex or part time teachers who do other stuff) go to Thailand or Cambodia now.

Poland is good for internet connection, but not a cheap place to live any more with taxes etc.

Did you guys bother to read the OP?
Do you think she gives a s**t about digital nomads in Cambodia or even how good internet connection is in Poland?
She is looking for life-altering advice and this is what she gets... Unbelievable...

long term sustained work entrepreneur

It takes long term waiting and luck. Especially in Poland. Plus contacts.

Do you think she gives a s**t

Who made you a mod?

Nobody. But I have eyes and I see how she is being ignored by the purveyors of irrelevant bs.

So what would your ideal society be like so that you could "feel" like you fit in?

He tried to have a conversation with her. You are bs-ing about internet connections.
See the difference?

The original post is vague enough to allow for many responses.

Then ask for more info, not bs talk about sockets and plugs in Cambodia. With that going on, I am not surprised she stays quiet.

because of **** politics here

It's not going to get any better any time soon. There's been a visible downward slide for a decade.

sockets and plugs in Cambodia.

There are three associated plug types, A, C and G. Plug type A is the plug which has two flat parallel pins, plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type G is the plug with three rectangular pins, in a triangular pattern. Cambodia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

If you're considering emigration, as the OP has said she is, these things can be useful to know, especially when travelling a lot.

I sometimes feel like I don't fit here,

I don't blame you. In fact, you should feel relieved that you don't if you take this forum as a representative sample.
Remember that Poles are suspicious and curious about everything, avoid eye contact and small talk. They were raised with shortages and act accordingly being nasty and competitive, including that irresistible desire to have the last word, no matter how stupid. See this thread.

A lot of digital nomads (...) go to Thailand or Cambodia now.

Funilly enough that is where a lot of pedophiles go too. i always knew there was a relaitionship with dodgy english teachers.

It's called being 20-something and living in the countryside.

Is it? You seem to know about the subject. Are young people an interest of yours?

They run a web forum to track such people down.

"I don't fit here" means that you are already in Poland. Which is it?

She's Polish and she was complaining about Polish TV in another thread so I'm guessing she was born and lives in Poland.

Is it?

Yes, it is. It's common knowledge. And you suggesting countries like Thailand or Cambodia to someone like Strzelec35 looks creepy, tbh...

you are truly retarded. Ukraine is nest door and Germany has an age of consent of 14 and i was there and never ****** anyone. I dont go to countries to sea tour or based on age of consent laws. Poland is 15 so why would i even need to go below this when ive never even had a 16 yr old in my life? I go to places based on things like i mentioned if they have muay thai gyms. youre not gonna find many countries with an aoc lower than Germany which is right nest door if i wanted that. i dont even think Poland has such laws where if i go there **** a 14 yr old than go back im arrested since its European union. anyway why bring this **** up?

why dont you call that old guy who goes to all those Warsaw social and other events creepy for living in east Asia then?

Cambodia

My friend went there for work, found a wife and they're happy. They only came west because they wanted a good school for their kids. It's apparently a nice place and the language isn't hard.

Yes, it is. It's common knowledge

Doubtless it goes on (the web page that expat teachers run there to catch them is proof of that) though apparently most people who go there are fortunately not like that.

They've struck oil offshore, so there'll be more jobs there.

I sometimes feel like I don't fit here,

The OP doesn't fit here.

But if not here, where?

@jon357, we're not talking here about your friend or your friend's wife, but about suggesting Thailand or Cambodia to a man convicted of grooming a 12-year-old girl on the internet, a guy who was fantasising on this forum about joining a human-trafficking ring that would bring Asian girls to Poland for sexual exploitation, so, please, don't behave as if you were born yesterday, because that's not funny, tbh...
jon357 69 | 18,457
21 Feb 2021 #24
please, don't behave as if you were born yesterday,

I genuinely hadn't thought about anything like that!

Just about Cambodia, which I've always fancied going to. Thailand not so much, though a lot of people love it. If you go there are a foreign employee of a university, you aren't allowed to visit the dodgy areas anyway.
Paulina 12 | 2,231

I genuinely hadn't thought about anything like that!

Then I hope next time you'll think more about what you're suggesting and to whom.

If you go there are a foreign employee of a university, you aren't allowed to visit the dodgy areas anyway.

That's irrelevant considering Strzelec35 isn't a university employee.

lol Strzelec35, if I reported you for every abuse and lie you write about me when you have one of your meltdowns, you would be long suspended by now.

I don't have time to go through all of your crap, but here's one of the comments in which you wrote what great business human-trafficking of girls would be:

https://polishforums.com/life/poland-last-bastion-europe-81842/#msg1606383

"by the way have you guys ever heard of the mafia smuggling girls and making p0rn sites? i wonder if pruszkow was wlwo involved along with the ukraiƄians or if there are any groups involved with this great trade? i think there is a lot of money to be made"

more lies from a polish east euro ho

so what will your response be when i find your post unless you edited it already or claiming i said i like to choke teenage girls that is a proof of one of your many lies? who is this Polish ultras guy btw?

you claimed specifically i wanted to join a ring or planned to related to east asia.

Yes, you wrote about human-trafficking "business" more than once and in one of your comments you wrote about smuggling girls from Asia, as far as I remember. Since your f*cked up comments are scattered around this forum and you wrote under different usernames after being banned one time after another I don't know if I can find that particular one. However, I think that this one that I quoted above is enough to show what sickening ideas you had (and maybe still do) in your head.

Just ignore that useless trash..

I usually do, but not this time - I don't like being accused of lying, especially concerning such things.
