Something to do with crossing the road near schools?

Sorry, no. I said: nothing to do with road safety.

You are getting close

Not close enough though. I can't work it out if it's supposed to make drivers slow down but nothing to do with road safety.

nothing to do with road safety.

Maybe it's about advertising.

to make drivers slow down

It is a driving practice car. The owner is a driving school. Other drivers who see that car on the road are more cautious than normally. Excellent idea I must say. I read comments on that car and people fully agree with me.

When I drive after a driving lesson, which is usually a drag, I always look for ways to overtake her.

to overtake her.

Why her and not him??? Don`t be a misogynist like Novi and the rest of the Am wolf pack. :):)

I can't work it out

Even when you don`t know sth, you have the balls to admit it which male posters are not able to. You are simply amasing! Thank you for your persistence and civil courage. :):):)

Why her and not him

Well, in Polish "nauka jazdy" is feminine.

Fried potato chips?

@Lenka, those are fried chips indeed, but not made from potatos :)

@Lenka, nope, but my father said that it does taste a bit like parsley :) 🤔

@GefreiterKania, nope, it's a vegetable! :)

@GefreiterKania, yes, correct! Wow, that was fast! :D

It grows at my grandma's in the countryside and when my parents went there last weekend my mother made fried chips from it and later on also a cream soup with coconut milk:

Sounds delicious! Also, it's supposed to be healthy too. I recall a friend of mine singing praises of the vegetable. :)

@GefreiterKania, the chips were pretty good, maybe not as good as potato chips, but more refreshing :) An interesting flavour. As for the soup - I had only time for tasting one spoon, and it seemed nice although a bit bland for my taste. My mother said that it's very light. My father refused to eat it lol

And, yes, it's healthy - topinambur has a lot of inulin, for example, which is good for people with type 2 diabetes and high LDL ("bad" cholesterol) :) So it could be a healthy alternative for potatos. 🤔

Stumper mushrooms, also known as honey mushrooms, that grow this time of year in the fall.

Hmm, not exactly, although you are close with this stumper..... :):):):

They are not yellow enough to be Chanterelles

Exactly! And too round to be ones. :):):)

Then they have to be Tital Waves or Cultured
OP pawian  221 | 25303

Tital

Tidal???
They are Tidal Waves only after you consume psychedelic mushrooms from Psylocibea family. :):):)
Most of us here don`t, so no, sorry.

topinambur

I had to google that as I'd never heard the name. We would call them Jerusalem artichokes.

What can you see???

Are those 2 different types of mushroom or the same one showing the underside?

Are those 2 different types of mushroom

I see you got fixed on johhny`s attempt. :):):) No, forget it coz he was joking and me even more. Think from a completely different perspective.
Hint - this riddle is connected with things I talked about in another thread.

PS. I must admit I find it amasingly fascinating that posters can`t see what it really is. I was sure it would be an instant guess riddle.

Think from a completely different perspective.

I didn't think they looked much like mushrooms, they remind me of carved pieces of wood. I have a small box carved from wood that has those rings in it. I know that's not what this is though.

this riddle is connected with things I talked about in another thread.

That could be anything then! I will have to think about this one.

pieces of wood.

Are they pieces of wood from the tree you cut down?
OP pawian  221 | 25303

I know that's not what this is though.

Actually, it is!!! Yes, flat pieces of wood I cut off from the trunks of the plum tree and birch branches. My wife asked me for them but didn`t explain what for.

I will have to think

No need to. The case is closed. hahahaha
