Is Poland a good place to study for Black Africans?

Only African or mixed-race countries are good places for them, so Poland is a bad choice.

Female students won't be a problem as Poland is a safe place for females in general.
But for male students from Africa the best advise is to stay away. You have the reputation of coming here mainly to study white women and try to marry one to get a perm. visa and many Europeans don't like that, including Poles.

I can't imagine why a black person would subject themselves to Poland.

Sounds like Poland needs more variety so that they can get use to see a number of different shades of brown then.

It makes me more determined to visit now, thanks....lets start educating!

If you want to study its ok ... but if you want to just fool around, eventually you will not be in a good position.

So think about it... give it some thought.

Jobs are scarce ... and you need to afford more than you can spend. Being a student, you are going to be expected to study.

I don't want to discourage you ... but you definitely cannot expect it to be USA.

After reading all theese messages I come to the conclusion that
1. People native to Africa won't be coming to Poland (big plus for me as I am pro-Europe, call me a xhenophob if you really want to call me anything lol)

2. English are English :)
3. Just need to fix the reputation in Germany then the world can buzz off and think what ever they want to think ;) (even if it's untrue)

Bloody communist!

socialist! Socialist! A commie would have fired all the doctorsand give them low salary and force them to do their work (they would get a bonus for helping party members)

pro-Europe

What does that even mean?

Does it just mean you are a Pole living in Scandinavia, so you don't say E.U.? :)

socialist! Socialist!

A come on, Socialists (Scandinavian model) aren't that bad :)

IS poland a good place to study for Black Africans?

No idea, I am not African.

Probably find it very cold during winter.

Mr Grunwald:

What does that even mean?

This mean nothing, just empty word with no sense...
Europe and Xenophobia is not "pro" its totally opposite to "pro" (pro-anything) lol

Who says Poland should also suffer mass-immigration from Africa and Middle East just like countries in Western Europe?

I think that 90% of the people on this forum or elswhere who are saying that it is "unevitable" for Central/Eastern Europe to change (meaning: to become flooded with non-European immigrants) are non-European immigrants themselves who just feel frustrated that the country they migrated to are 99% white and who want their host country to change instead of accepting that this is Europe.

This thread is not about mass immigration, Please stop your regular bs if you don't have anything to say about the subject.

Not hundred percent sure I am not studying here. But if you mean racial discrimination it is unlikely. You might rarely meet some stupid people like the poster above but mostly you will be OK. Poland is not very expensive (only accommodation is not cheap), it is a positive. On the other hand living/studying in a foreign country is a challenge. It can take time to adapt, and probably you will need to work/study much more than your country to become successful.

I'm not white and I lived in Poland. I'm not black either but I'm obviously a brown guy/Asian guy.

I never had any problems. I got stared at lot but got used to it I guess like being on a reality show or something.

Ocassionally I'd run into skins or thugs but I always made it clear that if the sh*t hit the fan I was definitely not going down without a fight and I'd be sure to send a few of them to the hospital.

That's pretty much was rascism does. It turns those who are victims of rascism to fighting to protect themselves and then overtime into gangsters. That's the history of gangs in the US.

I'm not a gangster but I am a MMA fighter and I refuse to be a victim. My advice to black people who want to come to Poland is if you run into trouble take one of them out as quickly as possible stomp on them so they can't get up and run like hell!

Walk around like this at the first sign of trouble and more than likely you won't find any trouble. Poles aren't really hardened thug gangster types, they're more like hooligans who like to talk tough and look tough. If you're from an African country or the US I'm sure you've dealt with much more dangerous thugs than you'll find in Polska.

I like your attitude, do u find that these hooligans back down when they know u can fight? Most of them seem to like kickboxing so i thought they would be up for the challenge.

Most of the bigots are drunk and won't fight you, they just want to scare you and see you run. Power in numbers thing, but if you make it clear that one will definately go down. In general, if you step up to people around here, they'll usually back down pretty quick. The Muay Thai and Krav Maga guys at decent schools seem pretty laid back (as far as being racists).

Don’t think so but it is a universal truth when it comes right down to it, let me describe the scene for you; Chicago nice summer day, stopped at a small neighborhood pub as the sign said "Zimne Piwo", door wide open facing the street, two black guys walking by, suddenly I hear glass braking, walked outside and there it is, broken beer bottle in front of my car. I really didn’t give a **** as it was a rental after all, it’s the principle of it. Exchanged few words without that political correct crap, one of them pretends to reach for a gun, bluffing of course. I charge as they were standing about 5m away. For all that tough talk Chicago gangsta boys sure can run.

Geto Boys said it right:

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta
A real gangsta-ass nigga plays his cards right
A real gangsta-ass nigga never runs his f*ckin mouth
'cause real gangsta-ass niggas don't start fights

As Convex said they're really not all that threatening. They're mostly like highschool kids trying to show off in front of their friends. They're rascist because they're fearful. Compared to Russia, Polish skins are basically football hooligans who took things one step further. Yes you'll find some prejudiced people in Poland but I wouldn't let that turn you away from living there or getting your degree there.

Basically don't show these guys any fear. I remember once time I was caught completely off guard and I just said "I don't understand" and walked away. It wasn't a problem, I was left alone.

I'd also recommend some boxing or some kind of martial art just in case. They do have some good martial arts there.

Just like everywhere else, you will find a fight only if you’re looking for it, a fight is not a result of prejudice; it’s your attitude that will determine that, even the football hooligans won’t jump you without a reason. Applying little common sense to a situation is always a good thing no matter how though you think you are. Once it starts a mob mentality can be a rather nasty experience, trick is not to let it escalate to that point if you find yourself in that situation, unless you want to.

That's pretty much was rascism does. It turns those who are victims of rascism to fighting to protect themselves and then overtime into gangsters. That's the history of gangs in the US.

Why do you justify the existence of (black) gangs? Since the KKK is long gone and US even has a black president, no black needs to become a criminal to protect himself against "evil white racists". Not in US and certainly not in Poland.

it’s your attitude that will determine that, even the football hooligans won’t jump you without a reason.

Indeed, it's usually the guys with too much attitude (like cagefighter) or those who deliberately choose to offend (eg. by walking, talking with a beautiful Caucasian woman) who are most likely to face problems.

They should always keep in mind that they are just immigrants to the EU and thus shouldn't offend native Europeans or otherwise face the negative reactions.

Not in US and certainly not in Poland.

It's not justification, it's just how they developed.

They should always keep in mind that they are just immigrants to the EU and thus shouldn't offend native Europeans or otherwise face the negative reactions.

Offend a small group of native Europeans. Why should the bigot minority be catered to when most people don't have a problem?

If this is the way things naturally develop, then of course gangsters can use this as an excuse to justify being a gangster.

Offend a small group of native Europeans. Why should the bigot minority be catered to when most people don't have a problem?

So what if it is only a minority of European people?
How could you say that this minority of European people shouldn't be catered for?

If an black knocks on your door asking if he could live in your house for the rest of his life and you and your kids agree, but your wife is strongly opposed, you still welcome this guy because your wife is just a "bigot minority" for not welcoming this guest?

This is the problem with forums, you say once thing and people read a bunch of other things into it.

Jarnowa, I'm not justifying anything what I'm saying is expect a backlash. Every action creates an equal and opposite reaction. You think it's offensive for minorities to talk with a beautiful white lady? Why? Do own all white women? Can't white women decide for themselves who they want to talk with? Or did you bring communism back to Poland? Why are so threatened by someone with dark skin talking to a lady you don't even know and probably wouldn't be talking to anyway?

Go around town beating up minorities for talking to white women and soon enough those men will ban together to protect themselves. Trust me you'll see the same thing in Poland if attitudes like these continue.

I'm not justifying gang or hooligan violence what I'm saying is if you study the history of gangs in the US you'll find that originally they were groups that came together to protect themselves. For example you can google the "zoot suit riots" to see what I mean. Basically these groups took the law into their own hands and slowly became powerful in their neighborhoods and unfortunately (often) turned to crime.

By the way a lot of gangsters do use rascism as a reason to justify their lifestyle.

So what if it is only a minority of European people?

Because not every person that holds an opinion can be catered to. Some racists don't want to see black men with white women (and vice versa), some don't want to see minorities at all. Should they don a mask?

If an black knocks on your door asking if he could live in your house for the rest of his life and you and your kids agree

But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about things that don't affect you directly. Quite a few Germans don't like Poles, and plenty of Poles don't like Germans. Does that mean that Germans shouldn't get together with Poles at the risk of offending someone? I mean Aryans and....Slavs? eww right? Should we respect their opinions? Are we flaunting it when we speak German in Poland, or Polish in Germany together?
