jon357 - unfair to judge a woman (or anyone) by standards that are not theirs

So one can judge a thief only on the basis of how deft he is in theft? A wife-beater on how expertly he levels his blows and leaves few incriminating bruises? But maybe, just maybe, right and wrong do exist?!

So one can judge

One can not, unless appraised of all the facts.

Rather than mythology and demeaning women.

And unfair to judge a woman (or anyone) by standards that are not theirs.

That does not make any sense. (More progressive liberal logic)
If their standards were illegal, immoral or a threat to others I would have every right to judge them according to the society we live in.

The women who oppose the proposed legislation are not a threat to anyone. Quite the opposite even.

She should have thought about that before she spread her legs!

Just the sort of vile comment we've all grown to expect from you. Like the guy had nothing to do with it and it's all the woman's fault?

yes they should have a choice as to what they do with their bodies for reasons of their mental and physical well being.

Exactly.

Chemikiem - Like the guy had nothing to do with

Unless he raped her, she woudl have to consent to be penetrated, so hers is the final and crucial decision.

so hers is the final and crucial decision.

Indeed. Her decision to continue with a pregnancy or not.

That vile comment of yours was made in response to a comment of mine stating that a woman forced to have a child she doesn't want will have to face the consequences for the rest of her life.

It takes two people to make a baby, so please stop with the 'she should have thought about that before she spread her legs bit'.

I don't see you suggesting that maybe men should keep it in their pants.
I often wonder how many men would still have the same stance if perhaps they were forced to bring up a child single handed if the woman decided to disappear and take no responsibility as so often happens with men when times get tough. Or if a child was born with a severe disability.

Like it or not, these are issues that women predominantly have to deal with, so I don't think that you or anyone else has the right to tell a woman what she can or can't do with her body.

Just the sort of vile comment we've all grown to expect from you

Spending his whole life with repressed feelings of shame, the idea of people not feeling shame about sex fills him with rage and he obsesses about how to punish them.

No guy would ever parade about with a placard proclaiming "My penis belongs to me" or "My gonads are mine and mine alone!"

that is because they do not have to.....duh.

I dont see any crazy old women on the internet shouting about what a man should do with his body...but for women it's standard.

"she woudl have to consent to be penetrated, so hers is the final and crucial decision."

Now things have gone off the scale of sanity.
