Racism in Poland - the future

@pawian

ok, maybe I have misheard what the Canadian conservative leader said in an interview (watch youtube sometimes, pawian) - he might have said half a million which is nearly the official number of immigrant to Canada in 2023 ( statista.com/statistics/443063/number-of-immigrants-in-canada/ )

I also read a lot of reddit - and questions from people who emigrated to Canada in the 80's and 90's as children about the prospects of re-emigrating back to Poland are quite often there

how many aliens

Good question.

In your opinion, how many non-white, non-Chritian immigrants would be too many in Poland?

A stupid question from a bored troll.

the result is home and rent crisis (the price of rent tripple or quadrupled in Toronto

Sign of a booming economy and worth mentioning that the property 'market' in Warsaw is pretty toxic and has been for the past few years.

Sign of a booming economy

yeah, my ass - more like all those newcomers of the last years settling in the biggest cities - all while Canadian businesses and citizens are getting taxed through the roof - maybe read more, watch more youtube videos and generally live closer to the reality

Hard to know where you get that from since most of the real estate in Warsaw is owned by and sold to locals.

watch more youtube videos

Who the hell with an IQ over 110 or whatever even watches that drivel?

generally live closer to the reality

Evidently I live rather closer to it than you since you seem to be getting conniptions about who lives where.

You can never turn back a clock.

So you FINALLY are coming out of the closet are you.
We knew all along that you were hiding your emotional trans yearnings.
It became obvious when you gave your wife that strap on for Christmas.

I meant Canadian cities and newcomers to Canada and not Warsaw - so yeah, like, pay more attention, maybe

so yeah, like, pay more attention, maybe

So yeah, learn some manners, maybe.

Your post was vague and makes no difference anyway; why shouldn't people buy homes where they live? Any 'pressure' on housing is common in large cities and if anything is the fault of social housing planners and politicians who believe housing is a 'market'.

This occurs regardless of the level of inward migration to a country. If a major city has a surplus of housing it indicates a stagnant or declining economy.

Your post was vague and makes no difference anyway;

my post was pretty darn obvious seeing the context - or you are just playing dumb to deflect criticism of Canada
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #525
It wasn't, it was bloody obtuse as usual.

Why would someone criticise Canadians, most of whom descended from migrants or migrants themselves, from being migrants?
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #526
Why would someone criticise Canadians,

I haven't criticized Canadians but rather the Canadian government - if you cared to read more then you would know that before Trudeau's recent stepping down, his approval rate was like 16 per cent so it should tell you how Canadians themselves view his legacy (and it was long 9 years)
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #527
but rather the Canadian government

And who do you think they are if not the Canadians who elect them?

like 16 per cent so

Quite normal for an outgoing leader. He's a good guy,, elected two or three times. Just a shame he's not more radical
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #528
Just a shame he's not more radical

it seems Canadians don't concur looking at how Canadian conservatives are bound to win a landslide vicotry in the elections that will take place sometime this year on a platform of "returning to common sense"

btw after 8 years of PiS in power about a third of the Poplish population declaring willingness to vote would gladly choose PiS again (even at their highest PiS only managed to gain 42 per cent of votes in an election)
jon357  72 | 23104

Canadian conservatives

And they'll switch back to the other side in a few years. That's how things happen in democracies, including both Poland and Canada as well as pretty well anywhere else where democracy prevails.

Anyway, he's was elected, re-elected and has decided himself to call it a day.

PiS

They lost.

returning to common sense

That will happen there when the conservatives are voted out again.
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #530
I thoruoughly think now it makes no sense talking to you

oh, I'll just make one more comment - if a politician does a good job people keep voting for them and that's it - seems like Canadians don't think Trudeau did a good job
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #531
if a politician does a good job people keep voting for them and that's

Indeed. And of course Jarek KaczyƄski was voted out after a very short time as PM.

Premier Trudeau (and his father before him) however got reelected and the current Trudeau stepped down after 9 long years of hard work.

He's still young; I'm sure the world hasn't seen the last of him.
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #532
Trudeau stepped down after 9 long years of hard work.

if it really was "9 long years of hard work" then it probably wasn't work for the good of Canadian citizens - 'cause they seem not to approve of it
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #533
You can say th3 same about the failed PiS regime.

Yet Canada's in a good state right now and, asylum know' change their ruling party every few years. Not that they e changed it for the last decade.

Canadians are Americans who still think they are British and that the UK is a superpower, not a Muslim and black garbage can - a mental disorder that happens to idiots without the First Amendment and with hate speech laws...
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #535
then it probably wasn't work for the good of Canadian citizens

It was.

Some interesting facts here. Economic growth under Trudeau was 41%. Under Harper it was 18%. During the Trudeau years income growth was 23%. During the Harperf decade it was 7.6%. Median Canadian net worth soared 66% between 2016 and 2023. They had the second highest GDP ration in G7 during that period.

Also, Trudeau reduced poverty from 14.5% to 9.0%. Conservatives always want to make it higher to increase stress levels, suppress wages, lower taxes for the wealthy and punish the poor.

And very importantly, 500,000 children were lifted out of poverty by the Child Care Benefit.
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #536
During the Trudeau years income growth was 23%.

yeah, and accumulated inflation was 27 per cent - and for example between 2021 and 2022 groceries got more expesive by about 10 per cent - so in essence the poor paid the price
gumishu  15 | 6228
13 Jan 2025   #537
also in 2023 8 million immigrants lived in Canada as permanent residents who constituted ca 20 per cent of the population

was the UK booming in the recent years? since the rent prices rose by 25 per cent in the UK on average in the last 3 years
jon357  72 | 23104
13 Jan 2025   #539
rent prices

That's what happens when right-wing governments condone landlordism. Hard to know why you mention the U.K. though. A failed attempt by you to deflect .

yeah, and accumulated inflation was 27 per cent

Inflation is 1.9% there.

By 'accumulated inflation', perhaps you're trying to understand Cumulative Inflation. 29% over 9 years is not exceptional and of course in Canada has been accompanied by a rise in living standards, significant poverty reduction and better governance.

Oh, and a 66% increase in average net worth...

his approval rate was like 16 per cent

Ratings based on polls aren`t the same as actual ballot results.
