Have been here for a year and two months now. In the beginning I really had to get used to the 'tram faces'. Polish people have a way of ignoring other people's existence when they are on the street - looking right through you, and, if you dare smile at them (habit of people in my home country), it's like: 'What do you want from me?!!' Started to learn Polish though, and although I still speak very little, and my grammar is always a shambles, my pronunciation is good, so if it's just Dzien Dobry, and maybe a little bit more, I fool them with my accent. Also, Polish Moms and Dads with little ones melt like snow in the sun if you play a game with the little ones. And then I found out that if you can get past the tram faces, Polish people bloom open like the tulips in spring - as colourful and full of surprises as you could never imagine any tram face would be. :0)
The food, the architecture (not just the big stuff, but the everyday stuff too), the food, the people, the food, the films of Krzystof Kieslowski, the food, Polish jazz, the food, the drink, the drink, the drink.
I love Poland because it has been cast down so many times and still stood up , our culture survived! we moved forward! stood stronger than ever! gave many contribution!
AND HAVE A BUS FULL OF BUTT KICKING TO FINNISH TO SLEAZEBAGS LAIRS AND SCUMBAGS.
Poland FOREVER!
and most of all because... Our ancestors sacrificed their lives and many more things to give us life today. I would hate to upset them in their graves. When you ask yourself are my ancestor proud of me ? I say not yet. Because one day i will be in their spot. You will all hear my music, in some time and remember me as the patriot I am.
well i am new here and jusst wanted to say i love poland as i have been with my polish girlfriend for over 3 years very sweet and nice and also poland is so beautiful and the people are nice and polite and funny
As a Scot, I love the przecena section in Żabka :) There is one just round the corner from my school and it's always good to see what discounted items they have. I love the dairy in Poland although the cheese isn't quite as good as in the UK, Germany and France.
I like the great communist things left over except for the awful redtape of administration. the little shops and local cultural centers with people selling toilet paper on the side of the street
but please, this love for Polish architecture is quite surprising...
I could agree about the qualities of what is left of old buildings (medieval or baroque), but what Communists forced upon Poland sucks badly indeed :(
especially ugly conckrete boxes, I hope the country will soon be wealthy enough to remove them from here
I am very fond of the spiritual dimension of Poland, I mean not just religion but e.g. the heritage of great romantic poets of the 19th century, this freedom mythology, that could be one of the sources of that notorious moral strengh :)
I agree with you..... Even though I am not a POLISH, I do love POLAND...because , I have a few POLISH friend...and of course..they all very gentle, polite and nice.
Thats the reason...I love POLAND. And yea.....recently I watched a POLISH film....."A short story about LOVE"...nice movie....which was later on made in HINDI also.....
I love Poland because of its capacity. Its silence, its rhythm, its acceptance, its dreams and its tolerance. I Love Poland because of its vast majorities mentality. I love Poland because of its towns... I love Poland because of its villages. Because of its lakes, mountains, sea, soil, trees, grass and wind...
This sounds like a description of South Africa or California in the United States of America! What are you on?
God you still around ?? I thought you would have died along time ago from your boring repetitive drivel about Poland - or some psycho pf member would have found you and put you out of your sad miserable life and its torments.

LoneStranger, I can agree with all but I must take exception to one part in bold (and its tolerance)
