Natural or artificial?

It is artificial.

And it isn`t aluminium coz it costs too much. And scrap metal thieves would immediately steal it.

I would advise you to go back and check Alien`s comment on it. It is a big hint.

Acrylic? Although I wouldn't say it's something special.

I wouldn't say it's something special.

Yes, it is ordinary plastic, not even acrylic. Economical class, sort of.

Yes, it is special in the Polish cemetery coz you can wander through the acres of gravestones and you won`t see a plastic one. :):):)

When I saw it, like Alien, it reminded me of a plastic bath, but I didn't think anyone would be that much of a cheapskate as to have one. Having said that, not everyone would necessarily have the money for granite/marble headstones. Quite expensive I would think.

80% gravestones are good quality granite or marble. The rest are terazzo - about 15% or earth ones - 4%. Plastic makes less than 1%.

Why is this guy going around strangers funerals taking photos and then posting them online?

Probably visiting cemeteries is one of his hobbies. And taking photos still another one. Simple.

Burial sites are paid. If the cemetery is owned by the city, you pay to the proper municipal institution. If owned by a local parish, you pay to the priest who takes care of the area.

Standard period of "leasing" the burial site is 20 years. Then you have to renew the contract and pay again. In big cities it can be 1800 PLN, in the countryside cemeteries 3 times less.

If you don`t pay, the tombstone is dismantled and offered to a new client.

About 10 years ago I took a photo of a certain site in our village cemetery which was "decorated" with a liquidation warning. The gravestone was in a very bad shape and it seems nobody paid coz the site was levelled and left unoccupied till today.
