FIFA: sport should not be confused with politics.🤔

Haha!! I guess FIFA didn't circulate that memo internally.

All of the virtue signaling and political commentary drives me nuts. It'd be nice to spend a couple hours away from politics and just watch athletes play a game.

Same here, sport is sport and politics should not intervene.

sport is sport and politics should not intervene.

Of course not. Sport as such is boring most of the time, so you need some entertainment to endure those long hours.

Obviously, you are not a sporty person
Shame, sport is good for your healrh.
But you are completely wrong if you think politics should be part of sport to "Liven it up".
Sport is about competing, excellence and commitment and politics has no place in it.
Because despite those virtues being the ones that we want in our politicians, most of them seem to sadly lack all those virtues.
Sports people are an example to politicians about how they should behave.

Darling you should know that there is a huge difference between being a couch potato who watches sport and a really active person who has a lot of exercise. :):)

Besides, they can speak English!!

The banner at Legia Warsaw vs Leicester City match a year ago.
The guy in the poster is the personification of the Legia team, of course.

A British sport commentator was speechless after attending Legia Warsaw vs Aston Villa match in Warsaw. Polish fans made a great impression on him, not only by their unyielding support but also decorations (which are so close to my apish heart) He said he had never seen anything like that before.

The gorilla`s eyes shone with real light coz fans set off flares underneath. Clever!

- I wasn't ready for such an extraordinary atmosphere, for this loud and passionate support of the fans. It was brilliant, I've never experienced anything like it - says Tighe passionately, who at the beginning of the match posted a video on Twitter showing the setting of Legia fans: a gorilla, with a large inscription below: "Welcome to the jungle ".

Tighe tells us what he liked most about the support of Warsaw fans. -I couldn't believe the continuity of the noise. In many stadiums, fans are loud at certain moments, mainly when their team scores a goal or starts to improve. But to scream like that for 100 minutes? - he asks rhetorically.

The Englishman has already been to stadiums known for their unforgettable atmosphere. He argues that Legia fans on Thursday evening surpassed what he saw at those meetings.

- I was at the Borussia Dortmund stadium and saw the world-famous Yellow Wall. I was at Bayern Munich's facility and in Rome for the Roma-Lazio derby, which is sometimes said to be the best atmosphere at this level in Europe. I've been to many other games. And I can honestly say that what I saw in Warsaw surpassed it all. I have no words for it, he adds.

Tighe also watched hundreds of Premier League matches live.

- In England, the fans are loud for five, maybe 10 minutes. There are two clubs: Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town, where they are trying to encourage people to support more constantly, but it is not normal, he explains.

And what surprised the Englishman most during his stay in Poland, apart from the amazing fans at Łazienkowska Street? - Weather. The fact that in your country in the second half of September it can be 27 degrees Celsius and the sun is so strong. I may seem ignorant, but I expected different conditions, he concludes.

Warsaw team`s radical fans were punished by Euro soccer federation with a ban - they weren`t allowed to occupy their infamous sector called Razor. Check the first banner they displayed in the empty sector and the other one they had hidden in the regular fan sector. Funny.

The latest scandal with a fan banner which some people call xenophobic. Can you see why??? I couldn`t until I read the explanation. Seeing it, I initially thought it applies to Germans coz that female reminded me of a waitress serving beer at annual October Fest in Munich.

Warsaw Legia fans prepared a spectacular banner for their recent match with Spanish Betis team. Legia team was depicted as a raging bull chasing Betis players.
Legia was fined 80.000 euros by the football federation.
Not for their display, though.
A fine of €50,000 was imposed for the use of pyrotechnics by fans, €20,000 for blocking traffic routes and €10,000 for delaying the start of the match.
Additionally, Legia coach Goncalo Feio was given a one-match ban from UEFA competitions, suspended for one year, for delaying the start of the match.
