I hate Warsaw. The worst part about living here is the people who move here from small towns, villages..

Some people don't see everything in terms of money and material possessions, you know

Call me shallow, there is another life out there a cheaper life, but I don't want it. Maybe I have been affected by Poland, when it Rome...

I still wonder why a rainbow is offending.

I have just driven past Plac Zbawiciela and it looks as though someone has set fire to rainbow and destroyed 60%, although it is still there standing ' stoic'

You really have to wonder what kind of fools set fire to rainbows.

I didn't realize christianity promoted such hatred.

There are several independent rainbow flags in use today. The most widely known worldwide is the pride flag representing gay pride.

Certainly him and his family must have valued money over everything else,.

Look pipsqueak, I addressed that last week but the mods found my answer to your daily personal remark off-topic. Go to Random Chat Thread page 37 and read what I had to say about that. After my post, Sobieski wanted to know more, so be sure to read my reply to him on the same page

I thought it was cool. But then again, I'm not some uptight Polish homophobic b-tch.

You have little to say. Cool? Don't be so verbose.
You might not have fear of homosexuals, but is anyone really interested in your personal fears?
I have a feeling you are a person who when asked abroad "Where are you from?" answers faintly "Poland," and is happy when someone says "Oh, I love Holland."

On behalf of all Varsovians "Don't let the door hit you on your ass."

Verbose? I got the right to say as little or as much as I want to say.

You don't, obviously? Why?

In the UK i couldnt blame any Pole for behaving like that, they're more than aware of the problems here, other than the UK or Ireland though i wouldn't really see an issue anywhere.

Come on Warsaw can be a pretty depressing place lets face it.

It's totally cool, but that's only because I'm Jewish.

Now that you've got your undies in a bunch and feel that I'm riding you wet, I'll get off you because it's no fun. You know, you could have just said "I don't know what it is," "I love it because the are seven men on it," or" I hate it because all seven are staring at me." Came back when your hide gets thicker.

I didn't say much because you're boring to talk to. Didn't you say bye a few hours ago?

If Dominika lived in Islington, she should love all those Nathan Barley types :)

I can send her a copy of the "Shoreditch Tw*t" if she's missing Islington circa 2002, lol.

Perhaps she has to live on some boring new osiedle in Białołęka, and that's why she's so fed up, haha.

I liked Srodmiescie, actually. I'm close to the river and the old town... wouldn't have wanted to live in any other part of the city.

Yes, but not spicette because it would be sexist, racist, and anti-Semitic altogether. And fascist.

Good work.

I know, I be damn good, good night.

I am Polish but from the NYC area... I love NYC but there is just something about it... maybe it is just to crowded with building for my taste... don't get me wrong, I am a big city lover. New York just has to many buildings. I have always wanted to go to Warsaw, and I think I would love it... I think your problem isn't that you hate Warsaw... but maybe you are just bored of it. Maybe move to Poznan or Wroclaw. Maybe you just need a change.

I'm glad this thread came up, I missed it first time around.
I loved Warsaw, but being young and in love might have had something to do with it.
I wonder how I would feel about it now.
I don't want this to turn into prickly exchanges again, so I'll ask the question this way: does anyone here really likes Warsaw, and if so, why?

Chicago is much better than NYC. It has all the amenities of a major metro but also a community atmosphere to it.

I love Warsaw and I live here. Too many reasons to enumerate.

I hated Chicago. I could not find much in common with people there, Polish or not. Also, I had no AC and summers nights were brutal. I was so miserable there, that since then I refuse to even visit and give that city another chance.

Loved NY. I clicked with a group that had insiders access to music/art "happenings" and I was bursting with creative energy.

But why are we talking about Chicago/NY?

I wish Zibi would say some good things about Warsaw..

I attempted to show, by example, some of the reasons why a person might like or hate the place they lived in.
Obviously, that message was completely lost on you, and in your usual fashion you chose to use it to insult.
Now, I will go back to ignoring your useless posts so you might do yourself a favor and don't bother replying to mine.

Most Poles claim that those in Warsaw are wiesniaki or those who live there only for the life and money and usually emigrated form villages or smaller towns all over Poland to Warsaw.

Thousands of them, yes.

And due to the war and post-war expansion, very few adults who were born here are more than two generations away from a village.

And to make matters worse, don't forget the thousands of LBH expat hoi polloi who also flee from podunk villages and godforsaken cities stretching from Timbuktu to Leeds and everywhere in between.

You've not been to Poland yet. I invite you; you might find it surprising.

It's an interesting city, and one made better in many ways by those of us who live here almost always being from somewhere else.
