Cities/Villages - Hawastwana, Stemslaw, Hainistariew and Hainstaodie

I'm currently working on my family tree and came across my great grandmother and her children's Declaration of Passenger to Canada. On the form it gives their places of birth but it is all handwritten and not really readable. The best I can come up with for their places of birth are : Hawastwana(?), Stemslaw(?), Hainistariew(?) and Hainstaodie(?). They came to Canada in 1922. My great grandmother's name was Agata Scibak and her husband was Ignatius Scibak. Their children were Jozefa, Wladyslawa, Marja and Beauesland? Again all the spelling can be wrong based on trying to read an old handwritten document. I'm wondering if there is a way to find the proper places of birth and spellings of their names, along with any other information. This is the only documents I have on this side of my family.

Do you have a scan of the original handwriting? It might be useful.

I'm not technically smart and I can't seem to get them to meet the 120 kb limit on here for uploading. I can email them but that's all I can do right now until I figure it out on my end ....

This link might help. You'll need to copy/paste it into your browser. Select jpeg as the format and put 99kb in the box for the size you want (it says 120 kb limit here but in fact it's 100kb).

imageresizer.com

The place you put that in is in Section 3 where it says "Target File Size". It has to be jpeg (you select that in the box to the right of the "Target File Size" one). No need to put anything into Section 2.

It's a safe website, I've used it hundreds of times.

it's a pleasure.

I can't make out the place name; perhaps someone else on here can later on.

@CLS

Birthplace of Agata Scibak looks like Stanisławowsk (or something similar)(maybe Stanisławowa) but it states that it is in Galicia (so most probably in nowadays Ukraine) and I only know a couple of names of major cities there

the nearest relative is named as Karol Rudek (or Rudak) - and his location as Złotniki, Galicja - which I identified ((it's in Ukraine now in the region of Ternopil (Polish Tarnopol) - thanks google)

the children of Agata Scibak seem to be born in Stanisławów (today in Ukraine known as Ivano-Frankivsk)

Wow that's a lot of information. Thank you for that. I'd love to find out who Agata's parents were one day. This side of my family history has been very difficult to trace back. Thank you once again!

@CLS

The name of one of the children of Agata is Bronisław (it's a Polish male name) - other children are Władysława (female), Józefa and Maria (both female)

@gumishu

Thank you! I couldn't read the spelling of it but I do know my mom called him her uncle Ronnie. He was Agata and Ignatius's only son.

The name of one of the children of Agata is Bronisław (it's a Polish male name) - other children are Władysława (female), Józefa and Maria (both female) - the rendering of Stanisławów (which is probably where all of those people where born) differs among the documents but these are most probably just clerical mistakes

Ronnie.

that's as close as English names get to Bronisław indeed
