Thanks Joker.
I got into Return to Forever through a complete accident about 5 years ago.
Wish I'd discovered them earlier. On my phone...I guess this is Al de Meola solo?
He was here twice at my local playhouse 1 mile from Dougpol Towers, but plays like he is an old man now. Didn't go:(
Someone should have a word and ask him to plug in again.
Genious musician, especially with Stan the man and Chick.

Gil Ofarim admitted he lied. Well, that's what happens with anti-Semitism. Anyone can be accused unjustly.

@Alien

That's a funny story.

Not as funny as one that happened in Chicago a few years ago, however.

Famous French-American gay black actor, Jussie Smollett, claimed he decided to walk several blocks at 2 AM in the dead of winter, to buy himself a Subway sandwich. Tragically, on the way he was accosted by two white men, wearing MAGA hats. First they insulted him, by asking "Hey, aren't you that fagg0t nigg*r from Empire?", and then they proceeded to pour bleach on him and beat him up for good measure. As they left, they yelled "This is MAGA country!"

Hoot! As JR would say.

Subsequently, the nation was enraged. Such a thing should not happen in the 21st century!

But then it emerged that Jussie had hired two Nigerian brothers, who were his work acquaintances, to stage the attack.

The brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, had worked as extras on the set of television drama Empire, in which Smollett was a cast member. It is not known how their political views align with Donald Trump's.

With the new Irish anti hate speech law a person can be arrested for having a meme one their phone. No freedom of speech in the UK.

Big brother is watching!

Even with all the problems the USA has, its still the best place to live:)

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said the country would pass new legislation to crack down on racist hate speech online, a move that critics fear will erode free speech by making certain memes and other digital materials illegal.

This law includes crimes relating to "xenophobia" and can be committed merely by the"public dissemination or distribution of tracts, pictures or other material.

You guys are fu*ked! No wonder a "red wave" is rolling across the Europe.

Im surprised PF hasn't been banned in Europe yet!

Ireland shows how public disorder can play into the hands of government officials to further limiting the right of free speech.

Dublin Councilman Abul Kalam Azad Talukder has reportedly called for protesters to be "shot in the head or bring the public in and beat them until they die."

I dont recall " Abul" being an Irish name? You get what you vote for, dummies!

It's Limerick, not Dublin - where do you get your news from? We already discussed this in another thread.

No freedom of speech in the UK.

Ireland is not part of the UK.

not part of the UK.

And Northern Ireland?

They are, until they decide otherwise (which by the way would delight the UK), however most of Ireland isn't. We do have close relations however as two islands, one large and one small, that difference is cherished in Ireland and understood in Britain.

Not just them though. It has to be an all-island referendum. Northern ireland's only options are stay in the UK or join with the Republic as they really couldn't survive on their own. I'd say we're still a long way from a border poll.

And Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland has its own legal system. Irish laws don't apply there.

With the new Irish anti hate speech law

Don' you worry. We're well able to handle it. People will either ignore it and say what they want or will make a mockery of it; getting a test case into the courts will be a priority for a lot of people. I'm not bothered by it. I'm going to carry on saying exactly what I want to, including calling teenage scumbags exactly that.

Of course. I read a good paper that said economically the impact for Ireland would be greater than for Germany during their reunification. That was just about the money and didn't mention the urban/rural thing or the red hand and sash people.

Yes, I'd say the appetite for unity is not that great anymore. It's a nice romantic idea but the hard realities are a big stumbling block. The economics are one thing but accommodating the Orange men is a step too far! (Excuse the pun!)

I'd say that the ordinary Irish citizen is not too keen on accepting NI.
