Dependant Visa for my wife (going first time to Poland)

Hi,

I have got a postdoc offer in IIMCB, Warsaw and I want to take my wife along with me. I would like to know is it possible to take her with me since I am also going for the first time in Poland. I have also applied for my VISA (for 1 year) and will get in a few weeks.

I would also like to know is it necessary to get official invitation from my host about her arrival or not ? As she is only going to stay with me and will not work in the institute, I think in that case she can come on my personal invitation??

It is mentioned in the list of documents for dependent visa that she would need to submit relevant document confirming the legal residence of the family member in Poland (work permit). I don't have a work permit, as it was not required in my case; however I have receipt of accommodation for the initial 1 week our stay and I will apply for residence permit and search for permanent once I reach Poland. In this situation is it possible for her to get the VISA and what proof do I submit for legal residence in that case?

FYI: I am from India

Please reply

Regards
BHARAT

A foreigner residing in Poland on the basis of a visa is not entitled to reunite with his or her family simply because he or she has a legal right to stay in Poland. Family members of a foreigner staying in Poland on the basis of a visa can apply for a Polish visa under general regulations.

According to the site you need a residence permit: /temporary-residence-permit-for-family-members-of-a-foreigner-residing-in-poland.html

Hi Bharat,
Did you finally get the dependent visa for your wife? Can you help me with the process for the same?

I will be travelling to Poland in mid March and I'm currently waiting for my work permit to come through (by end of Feb). Can you please help me with the process? Is it possible to file for my wofe's visa while I am in India or can I do it only after I reach Poland?

Would truly appreciate your advise here

Rahul

@Swap: if you want to work in Poland, you need to find an employer who shall have to prove that he cannot find anybody suitable for the job and who shall apply for work visa.

Hi all,
My husband is relocating to Poland as he has got a job offer and I would be moving as a dependent too.
Looking for pretty much the same information as abhishek and Kabir.
Any inputs would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Nam0011,

I am sure you would know that you both have to apply for the National VISA for Poland.
To apply the same you first need to book an appointment date at the following website : secure.e-konsulat.gov.pl/
Once you get the appointment date next step is to fill an online registration form right after taking the appointment date.

The BIGGEST challenge is to get the appointment dates. They open the slots twice a month (1st and 15th of every month).
Make sure you both sit together and keep trying to get appointment date bcz there are very limited slots available.

Keep the following information handy while filling up the online form:
Your passport details
Work location in Poland (Address)
Address of the accomodation for your initial/permanent stay in poland.
Duration of Stay

After filling in the form you need to go to Embassy of Poland in person and submit the following documents:

For your husband:
Work permit
Offer Letter
Accomodation & Flight details (dummy tickets and hotel reservations can be provided by the travel agents at some cost)
Travel Insurance for 3 months
Passport original and its photocopy
Demand draft of Rs 4400 (drawn in favour of 'Embassy of the Republic of Poland', payble at Delhi)

For you (dependent)
Your Original passport and its photocopy (plz make sure your husband's name is mentioned in your passport under Spouse details)
Your husband's passport's photocopy
Marriage certificate
Your husband's offer letter and work permit photocopy
Your husband's VISA application reference number (just in case your husband has already applied for the VISA)
Bank account statements for last 6 months
Accommodation and flight details (make sure agent issue the same flight and hotel in dummy bookings as mentioned in your husband's application)
Demand Draft of Rs 4400 (drawn in favour of 'Embassy of the Republic of Poland', payble at Delhi)
Your travel insurance (remember that the duration of the VISA is same as that of your travel insurance, if you are planning for a long stay talk to some insurance agent to get you the travel insurance for that period in advance)

I guess that's pretty all stuff that you may require while applying for both the VISAs.
I hope that helps.

All the very BEST.

Thanks

Merged: Poland visa for dependents

Hi All,

I am Amar from India, and currently living in London. I have got a job offer in Wroclaw, Poland. The employer is going to take care of work permit and I have to apply for my visa. I believe it would be a National Visa Type-D.

Once I get my visa and move to Poland , I want to bring my family ( wife and daughter) from India as soon as possible.

My questions are - what kind of visa is required for dependents, when can I apply and how long it is going to take to get visa for them?

Any input would be much appreciated.

Hi Amar,

1. once you get national D visa then you can apply the dependent visa for your spouse and child, for supporting documents you need to go through poland embassy in india website, Also no need to specify any specific visa type - just specify the dependent(in work-other option )in the form.

2. if you are plan to apply your work visa from India then in that case, you and your spouse will apply the application simultaneously.

Thanks Harry for the information.

Does the dependent visa that you have mentioned allow to live more than three months? As I have intention to stay there for only one year, I want to make sure that my family can stay with me for the same period of time without applying for any additional visa once they are in Poland. Is this possible?

Thanks

@manjinder0675
You can try apply as the dependent, your wife needs to show sufficient amount of financial stability to support you. If you dont depend on your wife, you can have a company formed in Poland and apply for a work permit as the employee under self-employment In this case, you can also apply for temporary residence permit if you intend to stay long term.

You can apply for dependent visa based on your wife work permit, it would be national D type visa for dependent.
in this VISA, you will stay in Poland but could not able to work. follow the polish embassy in mumbai website for the documents.
