Do you know that Iraq citizens calls our soldier when sb is planing to atack our base, just because we trate them as equal human, for example they can come to our base and ask our doctor for advice, normal human things.

At the beggining they had positve atittude towards you ...

As to America, your power should be moral power, of giving people freedom, after it you can take profit (McDonald invasion ;) ). But Iraq is wrong we are there with you but I think it is wrong war. That things shouldnt happen:

What is interesting Iraqs citizens are happy there is no Saddam now, but the way you done it ...

Now you will have to pay a lot to repire your reputation.

Because every country has similar problems and histories. Right now, America is the country being the dirtiest, in my opinion.

I agree, but look on the dirties times of other nations ...

Besides, political Poland is WAY TOO homophobic for me to tolerate right now.

you will find gay club in every big town ... and I think it is discussion about america

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

Oh I see that It hurts when on the other painting of this artist Russians are shown on knees ...

But the fact is that, it this battle Teutonic Knights (mostly Germans) were beaten ...

The fact is that the situation form other paintings appeared as well. What means Russians were on the knees, and it is historical fact which appear in books. The fact is that only Poles have beaten you, in way you accepted this fact. Your tsar (beging in Cracow for help) converted in to Catholic religion and was our puppet. There was Polish flag on top of Kremlin (moscov) (historical fact) ... read more about your history in XVII century .

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

All the time we write only about dark ages of our history, it is time to change it.

The Battle of Grunwald (or 1st Battle of Tannenberg) took place on July 15, 1410 with the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania ranged against the Knights of the Teutonic Order. It was the decisive engagement in the Polish-Lithuanian-Teutonic War (1409-1411) and one of the greatest battles of medieval Europe.

The battle saw the Monastic State of the Teutonic Knights decisively defeated - and the order never recovered its former power.

The few eyewitness accounts are contradictory. It took place near several smaller villages, and different names in various languages are attributed to it.

Genealogy / The typical Polish look, or all Eastern Europeans [656]

ght hair, blue/green eyes maybe from the North (and the West with Germany), Tatars came from the South ? South East or East ?...etc.

interesting theory ;))) Ukrainias and Russians are blond too. Tatars were living in their own societies mostly on teretories of todys Bielarsus and Ukraine and were musilm so that was problem to mix (but maybe there is influence) I think that there is a lot of peole mixed with Germans Lithuenians Russians Ukrainians Bielarusians, Jews. As Lithuenians Germans(Merkel 25% Pole) Russians (it is considered that 10% of ST Petersburg citizens has Polish origin) Ukrainians, Belarusians have Polish origin, as well. Jews for mixing with Poles were expiled form their society so most of this mix is in Poland. Wars with Turkey were mostly on the teritories of todays Ukraina

Polish PM in tight election race

Mr Kaczynski's party could benefit from a strong economy

Poland will hold parliamentary elections next month, two years ahead of schedule, with Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski rallying support for a traditional brand of conservatism.

He believes his Law and Justice party has a very strong chance of being re-elected when Poles cast their votes on 21 October. His twin brother Lech is Polish president.

History / Poland's King Jan III Sobieski - the stopper of Turkish Janissaries! [64]

what can be interesting Sobieski didnt want to help Austrians, he had good contacts with France, and he rather prefered cooperate with them. That means, let Ottomans smash Austrians ... In Poland, kings position was weak, and our nobels prefered to help christian brothers (Austrians), so Sobieski just enforced our nobels decision. He did it in grate way ... but it was horrible mistake. Strong Ottoman empire would be problem for Russians and definately Austrians.

In separate wars against Russians, Prusians or Austrians. We would smash them ...

What about abortion and religion

We have kind of compromise, there is status quo, and main forces of parliament don’t change the abortion laws (you can have legal abortion only in some cases).

Religion .... to be honest PiS and LPR seams to use church (or some of its parts) in their policy (to get new electorate) . We have rather conservative country, so most politicians like to show themselves religious and serious about church … sometimes it looks funny.

News / PIS and PO - what is the difference in their programs? [35]

Shortly

PO liberal economics, less bureaucracy, thinking about future, pro European, in some cases conservative.

PiS social economics, bureaucrats, anty communistic, fighting corruption, definitely conservative,

LiD -, corrupted, lazy (ex) communists who pretend to be our Labors party, submissive in European relationships

PSL - cooperate with everybody for some concessions for their electorate (farmers)

Samoobrona - populists

LPR- nationalists

Genealogy / I am 1/8 Polish on my mother's side - not Polish enough / Lithuania and Zmudz in Poland's ancestry [110]

:) I think that only people with the roots coming from Mazovia peasants are pure Polish...

It is quite funy but in my opinion it is not serious talking about nationalities like Bielarusian or Lituanian in XVI century,

In the beginning of XX century a lot of people form Polesie (part of todays Bielarus and Ukraine) asked about nationality answered "we are form here" I think that during XVI century they would answer the same.

But to show how multicultural our country was:

narodowsci

Poles: 65,5 %
Ukrainians 16%
Jews 9,4 %
Bielarusians 5,5 % ("we are from here" are added here as well about 1,5%)
Germans 2,6 %
Others 1%

what you should know, on east Poles and Jews lived in towns and Others in vilages (thats why there are not to green on the map ;) )

What can be intersting, Poles are still wining local elections in the grounds surrounding Wilno (in Wilno town we are minority because most of them were expeled from there after the war to towns like Wroclaw or Szczecin)

I m Pole but my mothers name is definetely lithuenian, when I asked my grandmother about her nationality she answered me that Polish, and that in the past Lituenia was just like Texas in USA now, and Poland was something like other state in USA. And being Pole was only problem of choice, if you wanted to be Pole you could be one ;) So Mickiewicz "writting Lithuania my fatherland", could mean something like singing in USA "my lovely Arizona" With lithuanians we had the same government, the same culture, there there were no anty Polish rebels ... What can be interesting, now in Lithuania there is group of people calling themselfs "Zmudzini" and they dont consider themselves Lithuanians, few years ago they would answer they are Lithuanians form region "Zmudz"

We should notice that in our history we have a lot of great people coming to our country and choicing to be Pole just because it was good place to live. It was good place to live because we were tolerant, in comparison to other countries we were giving a lot of freedom and it worked quite good.

Suddenly after II WW we were expeled by Red Army form eastern lands (in some regions we could stay) to terytories form where Germans were expeled. And now we live in country with 96,7% of native Poles. But we dont need to learn how to live together with other nations, we just have some good expirences.
