News / Unfulfilled promises by PiS [559]

Until recently, officials in Brussels were hoping opposition leader Donald Tusk would return to power in Poland next month, in an election victory that could rebuild trust in Polish-EU relations

Why EU can't just let Poles decide who should rule them? Why they keep interfering to promote lefitist parties?

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [864]

Go to Israel and tell them their country is sh*itty.

Hmmm is this still English? Because sure as hell it's not very comprehensible. We were talking about school shootings and out of the blue you start rambling about some random sh*it Are you having a stroke currently, or that's just your regular way of functioning?

the US is a crisis-management, reactive leftist sh*ithole.

Yes, school shootings are a known communist plot. Perhaps that's the reason why they mostly happen in the land of the free, home of the brave :-D

could easily get a dozen volunteers with ARs to protect it

That's your response to school shootings? Armed guards at the schoogrounds? Wow, there truly is no end of this rabbit hole.
A country that needs armed guards so that schoolchildren wouldn't be shot on a regular basis seem pretty sh*itty to me.

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [864]

Walk down the street and ask random strangers where they would rather live.

Well, people are stupid. Either you can make it where you are or you can't. If not, then don't look for happiness in distant lands. Because it will be similar there, only more foreign.

where everybody is armed and life is as peaceful as it can be

There is this tiny issue of school shootings, that is usually done not with some illegal gang weapons...

That said, Czechia and Lithuania seems to have relative lax gun legislation and aren't violent.
Lithuania has 13,6 guns per 100 people, Czech Republic 12,5 per 100. Even if law is more lax, people in Europe simply don't feel a need to accumulate weapons.

News / Future of Polish-Ukrainian relations [669]

Words are wind. Only recently we transfered to Ukraine a few dozens of Rosomak apcs.

Let me assure you: the grain may be embargoed, but the guns and tanks will keep coming.

Nothing will stop us from supporting the noble duty of culling the orc tribes.

News / Referendum to decide about exotic immigrants in Poland [559]

a lot of Jewish Poles have done great things for Poland

So, what's your plan to survive the vindictive Jewish plot to send the entire human race all into anuddah shoah? Are you prepped? Will you bunker up in your present location, or flee to the countryside? Or will you dindu nuffin in the local supermarkets?

holland, she's a fine director

Wait a minute.
First - the most important things about Mrs. Holland

She was born on November 28, 1948 in Warsaw, the daughter of Henryk Holland, a journalist and sociologistof Jewish origin, captain of the Polish People's Army, communist activist

You say party, I say Donald Tusk. He is the party.

when exactly Donald Tusk

Nice strawman.
holland made a film for the PO about Poles eating Muslim children on the border with Belarus.
libs from gated communities are exalted by this film and holland's general "works", which is a stream of consciousness of the fears of the contemporary left

News / Referendum to decide about exotic immigrants in Poland [559]

Deputy Foreign Minister Wawrzyk forced Polish diplomats to issue visas to the immigrants he indicated.

Yep. Don't you worry though, the liberal opposition already created a "documentary" about the brutality of the Polish state against poor immigrants so the setup is simple. You either vote for based party that will bring you mass immigration while pretending to fight it, or you will vote for the cringe party that points violations of human rights yadda yadda.

Polish politics starts to resemble the UK 1:1

News / Unfulfilled promises by PiS [559]

The demographic decline will soon become visible, and the follies of PiS will reduce his options even more

You rattle on about population numbers, without taking into account that Poland's population per the land it currently inhabits is probably the highest it has ever been in history. Maybe the Polish people want more space? Maybe we want cheaper housing? Maybe we don't want to have to breed at gunpoint with the threat of mass immigration loaded in the gun? Maybe we will breed more in a generation or so? The world will not fu*cking end if your population decreases for a time. Do you realise that? Your people are more important than economic figures. Keeping that land for your people is more important than economic figures.

If the Polish people are replaced, that's it. Close the book. Replace "Polish" with any other people and the result is the same. You just have to ask yourself if replacing your own people with foreigners is worth the extra dough that might come about.

History / Occupation of Eastern Poland in 1939 [98]

Let us not forget the anniversary of Soviet attack on Poland in 1939.

Russia did not even declare war on Poland. Due to this fact when Soviet armies entered the East there was much confusion. Some expected the Soviets to fight the Germans, some suspected they were about to annex Polish eastern lands. Our high command was equally confused and issued orders that were unclear to most commanders. That's why most Polish forces in the East simply surrendered instead of fighting against invading Soviet units.

And then the Soviets murdered 20 000 of our officers. Without a reason or trial.

Several PiS policies have been highly inflationary

Between 2002 and 2021 inflation was within a manageable 0-5% yearly. The situation changed only during the final months of 2021, 2 years into covid epidemic. Central Bank responded by rapidly increasing interest rates:

graph

The effectiveness of this instrument proved to be limited though because the government didn't play ball and kept on spending.

However if government would cut spending at the time central bank increased interest rates, we'd have 'cooling of the economy' below zero. Our growth would die and unemployment would skyrocket.

So now we have high inflation (but not the highest in the EU - the 'prize' goes to Hungary) but also the lowest unemployment in the EU.

high inflation resulting from benefits.

Inflation in Poland is a result of numerous different factors:
- global post-Covid measures - printing lots of money finally caught up with us,
- result of the war (increase of food & oil prices) and the wave of refugees (increase in rent&housing prices).

Between 2002 and 2021 inflation was within a manageable 0-5% yearly. We even had deflation for a short period of 2015, so increasing public spending then was actually required. PiS expanding public spending caused inflation similar, even lower that during Civic Platform's miserly governments.

A lot more russians think that an independent Poland is a mortal threat and they should nuke Warsaw....

And people outside of Warsaw go:

warshaw

They do think we value Warsaw, which is typical since Uncle Stalin gave us the cancer building and they still have the mentality that we care about it or appreciate it.

News / Russian agents plan sabotage acts in Poland??? [74]

It looks like the r*SSians have hacked into PKP systems around Szczecin, playing their horrid Stalin-era national anthem over PKP radio frequencies and allegedly stopping trains.

Hm but why don't Poles like Russia, I can't quite figure it out...

Do you support raising the retirement age, including bringing back the retirement age of 67 for men and women?".

If PO did referendums, instead of forcing changes, maybe your idols would not lost the power.

Life / Polish fences - complete anthology [74]

PS. Riddle - why do Poles love fences.?

I have been watching my neighbor's house across the street without a fence around. If it is not fenced, it means no one's property. Everyone who walks their dogs lets them defecate on such a the neighbor's lawn. Trees and bushes constantly watered by dogs look terrible. What to do with children throwing garbage while walking along the road, and not children only?

History / This anti-Ukrainian propaganda for no valid reasons must stop [70]

In 1920 we were allied to the Ukrainians.
Post-1918 Eastern Europe was battle royale in which literally dozens of factions fought out their competing claims over the same territories, which were ethnically mixed. Lands fought over between Poland and Ukraine were as much claimed by Ukraine as by Poland. They became ethnically homogeneous only after post-WW2 cleansings. Only then they finally became Ukrainian or Polish.

We battled until we established borders.

Poles battled Ukrainians in 1918/9, established borders, and allied against Bolsheviks for the 1920 campaign.
The alliance collapsed because of Kyiv fiasco in late spring 1920, after Petlura failed to form any workable government or even rally enough support to make it worthwhile to prop him up.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

the Warsaw Pact

In the 80s Soviets ordered our communist government to 'deal' with opposition by introducing martial law. And also suggesting that if our communists won't solve the matter with proper deciseveness, Soviets might 'aid' them in this.

For 40 years we Poles were harboring hostility towards our imperialist Soviet oppressors. Finally in 1989 the shift in global political situation allowed us to throw off the shackles, humoristically called the Warsaw Pact.

I don't think you know how NATO works (but you know sh*it about everything you write about, so it's nothing new).

As a general rule, NATO does not 'attack' its members. That was the Warsaw Pact's speciality.

When a member of NATO is attacked, article 5 of the Treaty kicks in, and members in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

There is no veto power here. Each country reacts to the degree it feels necessary to secure the alliance.

The only veto power in NATO is when a new country wishes to join. And you can bet that if Russia would like to join to become a Trojan horse inside NATO, Poland would happily veto the sh*it out of them.

History / What should Russia and Poland do to become if not friends, then at least not enemies? [945]

US-Russia friendship would make Poland-Russia friendship a reality in less than 24 hours.

Lets suppose that a Russia puppet gets elected in USA and agrees to disband NATO. Do you think that Poland, Baltic and so on would't try to get nukes and fu*ck NPT? We would't be re occupied by "srussia" any time soon.

The EU requires the Polish gov to choose judges legally, according to democratic rule of law

Fun fact: The presiding judge of the German constitutional court was the vice president of the ruling party's faction in parliament (and a personal friend of Angela Merkel) right up until the day he was "elected" to the constitutional court by that same parliament. In order to be eligible he had to be a professor of constitutional law, which he magically became a few months earlier despite having a full time job as an MP. All the documents involved in him becoming a professor are kept secret to this day.

When the government's corona mandates landed in the constitutional court, the justices had dinner with Merkel and the rest of the government right before they unsurprisingly decided that everything the government did was absolutely A-OK.

German media assured everyone that all of this is perfectly fine and healthy. While at the same time running countless of segments of how the evil Polish conservatives are undermining Poland's independent judiciary, for which it should justly be punished by the EU.
