Travel / American Visiting Polish Military Base. Issues? [13]

live in the Great United States of America that they abused the visa system merely to get a free ticket into America

Money in labour is still in the USA.Most visa abusers are labour workers. They cant make that kinda money doing house cleaning/construction anywhere else in the world.

Work / Business ideas for Poland [63]

Guaranteed will flop.Dont even waste your time.730pln for a reviews?I dont think any restaurant owner will even entertain you or even offer to meet with you.Plus its illegal manipulation.

Try Busking, washing cars or polishing shoes on a kiosk on airport like English teachers do now to make a living in Warsaw maybe you will pay your bills.

Law / How do I verify a Polish company's existence? [234]

Why would you want to purchase a company?? Its a big racket going on in Poland about that and people are making tons of money buying and selling companies.People buy them mostly to take loans.I had 2 which I never used and Tax dept came to me for not filling taxes and when I wanted to sell people started bidding and sold them for 40k pln and 25k pln.All they had to do was file taxes with 00 declaration and probably take loans etc on it cuz they were over a decade older.

Off-Topic / Funny mistakes by Polish users of English [34]

we still talk about it in family and joke that in todays date you would think someone is attacking you and if you are armed you will pull out your weapon before deciding who to fire at esp when they would just say "FIRE PLEASE"

Life / Owning a house in true countryside of Poland - stories [375]

Having a house in a country is good when you are young ,growing up kids and can take care of everything, but as you get older you have to downsize an,We wish to downsize and also look for ammenties nearby. We (Me & Wifey) live in a 2700sq ft house on an acre of a land but only due to low taxes(we appeal every year) and being near the ocean for kids to come with friends,is lots of work esp snow plowing and mowing lol with mexicans in short supply its getting expensive. But yes living in a flat like we do in Poland has its own charm with restaurants, shows almost 24 hrs and yes NO BIRDS,except there use to be lots of piegons in centre of Warsaw but not any more ( I hear the reason is vietnamese moving in lol)

Good luck with your new house man, enjoy it while you can, life is short.

Work / A job at a real estate agent vacancy in Wroclaw [22]

Sorry man if I offended you in any way,I didnt mean to at all.I was just telling you with my experience as a non Polish person visiting Poland for the last 19 years every month. There are some crazy laws in Poland and as a foreigner one will not get them and learn by paying a price financially.

Real estate is big almost in every developed or developing country,I live by the shore area where summer rental houses can be over 50k USD a month also, even in Poland there are tiny shiet hole flats that they ask 45k Pln a sq m to buy and rents went down in around 2008/9/10 but are now coming back up.As a foreign realtor esp with no knowledge of Polish it will be very hard for you personally until you open an office and hire Polish speaking agents(in fact there are plenty I know in Warsaw from Ukraine,Armenia,Russia etc).I can never imagine a non English speaking or even English speaking Pole will ever trust a foreigner to rent his flat for a comission.Good luck any way in your venture.

Work / A job at a real estate agent vacancy in Wroclaw [22]

Bud,flipping properties in Poland is usually not a good idea as you have to pay very high tax(I forgot how much like 19 to 23%) if you sell before 5 years until you reinvest in 1 or 2 years (I forget too, there is a loophole in that too with calendar years).

Also beware of taking advice from every tom dik & harry here.Ask for there business/practical experiences and not google expertise.

Work / A job at a real estate agent vacancy in Wroclaw [22]

@cms,I agree with you,He should consider opening an Nigerian restaurant instead.Use to be one Anderska in Warsaw but has been shut down.Anyway most foreigners are more successful doing that until they are professionals in there field.

And to make contacts he has to be bilingual or open a real estate office and hire agents which takes a lot of time(in years).

. I would rather create a relationship with landlords or work with agents who know landlords directly.

Only 10% chance that you will ever will until you have an unexperienced foreigner.Do you really think landlords will trust you with there vacant property to rent it??WAKE UP!

Seriously dude,You think someone in Poland gives a flying fug who were you and where you came from doing what?

Poland as a black man with no knowledge

Dirk he can with the elite but with normal people he will fail badly esp in renting area.KNowledge part comes with experience so I can bet he should save enough to live for 1 year at least learning and gathering information. We know a guy here who has failed badly in his business venture of helping foreigners in there work including real estate.

Food / American baking products (bread, shortening, etc) [19]

Indian & Mexican food suks in Warsaw atleast. Its not at all authentic and catered to Polish taste.Fugging salatka with every dish almost and so is vietnamese.Lately I have been having dinner from Duzo Mia,vietnamese place by me on Zlota where I hate that they charge me extra 50 grolsh for take out.Once I had real good Indian in heenka market at a kiosk operated by a pakistani guy.he made really good meat dishes with chinsy/flimsy naans(they save on flour i guess)but too far to drive just for food.

Polish food is the best in Poland at those canteens in public office buildings esp outside Warsaw and cheap,I really enjoy that food.
In hardrock I only like there onion rings and Saigonkis.
@cms-do you live around there?
Der Elephan by plac bankowy has good seafood now though.

What's in for the Notariousz and lenders

You might get a small percentage for bringing clients to them and they usually adjust to your/clients schedule also.In Poland residential rentals are usually for foreigners who use agents and overpriced usually.Locals mostly never use agents or try to beat you for comission.Commercial buyers usually pay 1% unless the property is hot then 2.5%.In Wroclaw there are lots of foreigners too so lack of Polish should not hinder you.

I am not an agent but deal with them on regular basis soknow little tricks.

more deals

that dont mean more money.Whats you goal money or more work with less money. My motive has always been less work and more money.

For a rental you might make a months rent minus 50% agency fee while in commercial you might sell less but a deal can fetch you more with equal amount of work and not to mention not dealing with rogue(suitcase clients I call them) clients then financially stable responsible people.

You will need contacts though anyway with a Notariousz, lenders etc though. You can cater to english speaking or elite Polish clientele though with right strategy.

Life / Is it safe for Indians, Sikhs living here in Poland? Any Temple / Gurudwara in Wroclaw? [160]

A huge FBI bust just erupted over in the State

I read about that one which was mainly catering to Indians,Also I suspect the same is happening in Poland mostly catering to South Asians.Little crummy office in a office building registerd as a university/school/college to get student visas for which agents are making millions of euros in Poland.

Even driving in Poland I knew that but a freaking Russian pissed me off doing the same in Nj and almost made me crash.I thought he broke down and was stopping.Only after hearing his accent I realized why he did that.
