Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [849]

@pawian

In the first one the guy definitely messed up. The sentence that goes " I approached my bookcase there was a book there I got from my ancle.

You corrected it to " When I approached my bookcase, there was a book that I had from my uncle." Wouldn't you need some kind of verb in the second part of the sentence? Like ...there was a book that I had received from my uncle" or "there was a book that I got from my uncle" kind of like the student originally had? The other two was a bit small to make out in the picture.

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1614]

I've heard it used more to describe the people from the wioski who come into money or "wiesniaki" ... usually because of their appearance or their purchasing priorities - i.e. they'll buy a new Mercedes, but not spend money to fix their missing teeth... sloma z butow wystaje...

Life / All Things Christmassy in Poland [281]

In my family X-Mas Eve, aka Wigilia, is always the big day. At the sign of the first star (or simply once it gets dark since you can't see stars in urban areas) you pass around oplatek and then have a lenten meal with the exception of fish. There's 12 dishes - things like piergoi, fish (often "Greek/Jewish" style) usually carp and sometimes white fish, kluski, sauerkraut, soups like red borscht, deserts like makowiec, and kompot to drink. You leave an extra chair and plate for a "guest" that maybe doesn't have a place or family with whom to celebrate.

We usually give presents out after the midnight mass instead of like Christmas morning like Americans tend to do.

Work / What is a good monthly salary for an English teacher in Poland? [124]

That would be a good monthly salary for an English teacher in Poland.... but no one's getting paid that... maybe the top few percent either with decades of experience or a university teacher or something and even that's a stretch since it'd be over 10k z's. Or salary combined with a dozen hours of private tutoring each week...

I have a family friend who teaches at a Polish uni and I remember him telling me he makes something like 10k or 15k a month, somewhere around there. His German colleagues joke with him how they earn more in a week than he does in a month. Kind of sad that teachers make so little in Poland. But they live well especially by Polish standards - large new 4 bedroom house in the Wroclaw suburbs, big yard, newer cars, etc.

At least in places like Czech Rep. they make a decent salary. Some top schools in places like Kazakhstan pay $80k USD with only 10% taken out as income tax. Other countries like Kuwait, Saudi, S. Korea, etc. pay decent too - $50k+ entry level with expenses covered.

Work / Teaching English in Poland - better opportunities for an American? [20]

even american kids wouldnt know

That's because average American kids are stupid. It's not by accident that the US education system consistently ranks in 20th and 30th places every year, far below even Poland's. You have inner city high schools where literally everyone is performing at a 4th grade level.

allegro tech is a joke 50 yrs behind amazon and why the latest cyberpunk game sucks

and yet millions of people use allegro and CD Projekt is worth over a billion zloty so they're doing something right

Work / Teaching English in Poland - better opportunities for an American? [20]

Well of course they're going to test you to see if you're qualified for the job, especially at a more respectable school... You can't just go into a place and say hey I'm a native speaker, hire me, without any background or certifications in teaching, English, etc.. And even if they were that desperate for a teacher that they'd consider hiring a native speaker without any teaching experience or English degrees, they'd want to know that you at least comprehend English grammar.

And conditionals have nothing to do with linguistics, that's a part of grammar. Linguists study things like sounds, language patterns, etc. and how they relate to history, society, etc. It's a lot more complex than conditionals or other grammar rules. The reason why they asked about conditionals is because English grammar a lot different than Polish.

The point is, if they're going to hire an English speaker they're going to hire someone who actually speaks, writes, and more importantly knows how to teach proper English, not slang.

Work / Teaching English in Poland - better opportunities for an American? [20]

Yes, I heard that native English speakers can immediately find a teaching job in China or Vietnam.

Yes, but now they increasingly want ESL, TOEFL etc certificates. Still though, the pay is pretty damn good in places like China, S. Korea, etc. since you're getting like $50k USD a year to start but all your expenses are taken care of. Vietnam doesn't pay ****.

China imo is the best place to teach for a white American. They still have the old school hiring practices where if you're a good looking white guy or girl and speak native English you'll get the job a lot quicker than say a Nigerian with tons of certifications and degrees.

History / Should David Irving, Holocaust denier, be allowed to run tours to Poland? [246]

You just admitted that Auschwitz did exist. Why it was rebuilt and by whom is irrelevant.

I never said Auschwitz didn't exist. It definitely existed and was a camp to hold jews and others during a war. What I am saying is that there are numerous sources that prove the whole holocaust industry's claim that 6 million jews died is B.S.

X were transported to Auschwitz. Y survived. Z=X-Y died. What are X and Y?

No one knows those exact numbers. All we have is estimates. The International Red Cross in their reports said 52,000 died at Auschwitz. Both the Red Cross and East German government stated Red Cross and East German put total deaths at between 272.000, and 282,000 at all camps which includes everyone not just jews.

If you can find those exact numbers you'll be labeled a hero and given tons of money and fame, or you'll be criticized and even put in jail - it all depends on whether your numbers corroborate the 6 million claim or disprove it.

This six million claim is the longest running, most widespread and most expensive fraud ever perpetuated. It's sickening how many people have been affected by this claim - and to this day the jews demand that Poland pays up hundreds of billions of dollars for supposed complicity. Luckily, Poles have been around jews for centuries so we're privy to their tricks and b.s. and aren't falling for it. But unfortunately Germans, Americans, Swiss, etc. already have and continue to sacrifice billions of dollars and generations of brainwashed minds at the altar of the holocaust industry.

History / Should David Irving, Holocaust denier, be allowed to run tours to Poland? [246]

at least a theatrical setup.

Well it is... it's a fact that Auschwitz was mostly destroyed and rebuild by the Soviets as a propoganda piece...

Furthermore, the International Red Cross which had access to numerous concentration camps and issued several reports which shows the holocaust industry figures are grossly exaggerated. And actually they gave positive reports on prisoner treatment and conditions. In fact, the Red Cross states only about 271k people died... and of course no mention of any gas chambers in their reports...

renegadetribune.com/international-red-cross-report-confirms-holocaust-six-million-jews-hoax/

What kind of "concentration camp" has swimming pools, orchestras, volleyball courts, etc? Sounds more like a resort...

History / Should David Irving, Holocaust denier, be allowed to run tours to Poland? [246]

The holohoax numbers have been changed so many times it's ridiculous... Back in the 50's schools in Europe taught it was 9-12 million.

Funny thing is that the Auschwitz death totals were adjusted in 1988 from 4 million down to 1 million, yet the "6 million" number was never proportionately adjusted.

Yeah gas chambers with wooden doors... makes total sense..

USA, Canada / Poles in America: How do you pronounce your Polish surname? [128]

Why should it be dropped at naturalization? The USA is a country that was founded by European immigrants. We built this country and you recommend forcing people to drop their cultural identity - especially a European one?

USA, Canada / Poles in America: How do you pronounce your Polish surname? [128]

@MrsPriz

Przybylo - a common Polish last name. You'd pronounce it "p-zhy-by-woah" sort of. Thing is, there really isn't an equivalent of the rz sound in English. It's almost like the j in junk but with more of a roll. It's almost like if you combined the "sh" sound with an "z" sound together and a little bit of "r" sound inserted. There isn't really an English equivalent that I can think of.

The "l" is also different. It'd actually be spelled ł and with the o at the end would sound almost like "woah" with a similar w sound but softer o/oah

Google does a good job with the pronunciation - google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk00G0o3HCd5DIgN-OoY5OauW0tzBHA%3A1607359806415&ei=Pl3OX8HcGISxtQaM8J6YBQ&q=przybylo+po+polsku&oq=przybylo+po+polsku

USA, Canada / Car Export from USA / Canada to Poland [30]

Yeah those were the good old days.... life was simpler and much easier to do business person to person. the EU ****** it all up. It's insane how much paperwork and money is spent on just the administrative aspect of shipping goods internationally, not to mention time. We wait 4 months now for a container from Poland before it clears all the ports and customs.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

Are they passive like Slovak girls, expecting the man to do everything

Pretty much. I'd say at least 80-90% of Polish girls are like that. Although maybe the younger generation its different now idk.

I don't like women that want you to do all the talking."

Well then you're not going to like most Polish girls. I'd say Ukranian and Russian girls might be more up your alley.

Yeah that stopped early 00's. A lot of Polish guys were involved in buying auction cars, getting the title redone to clear or swapping vins and then shipping them off. I shipped a few cars to Czech Republic, but never Poland.

Did you buy the vehicle in the USA and if so I'm assuming it probably has a salvage title? Are you planning to flip it or keep it for yourself?

Getting salvage/rebuilds into the EU for flipping is tricky and not worth the hassle imo.

Love / Adultery- Is it ok for Polish women [41]

A lot of Polish men that migrate to the West end up with new women while still supporting their families back home. I see it all the time. Everyone has needs. You can't expect a guy or even a woman to be away from their significant other for years without looking into a new partner. I think this is more one of those don't ask don't tell situations.

Life / Poczta Polska Is Killing ME! Transit time. [28]

Everything related to shipping is ****** up worldwide now. I wait 4 months for printing equipment coming from Poland when it use to take 2-3, checks in the mail can take 2 weeks, even ordering a stupid cell phone off ebay from NYC to Chicago took over a week with 1st class delivery.

Maybe try DHL or Fedex for packages and smaller shipments??

Work / What is a good monthly salary for an English teacher in Poland? [124]

@delphiandomine

Yes, private teaching especially groups pays well. If you're tutoring business people or are hired by a company or work in consulting its fine. But working with a bunch of snot nose kids and their parents for peanuts? No thanks... FTS... and this is coming from someone who looked long and hard into potentially teaching in Poland. It's just not worth it imo. Maybe if ur retired and not even doing it for the money and are set but still, better ways to spend your time.

If I was going to teach English I'd go to the oil rich CIS countries. Kazakhstan has a set of a dozen school chains where theyre paying $80k USD to teach English with full benefit package, room, board, tickets, etc. Best part is that the tax rate is only 10%. Some Arab countries offer similar packages and with no taxes takes out.

Love / How do Polish men feel about gender equality? [780]

brainless bimbo will suffice as a partner

So all 18-20 year old women are bimbos to you??? And here you call yourself a feminist lol... that little Freudian slip shows that you don't necessarily buy into the whole ideology, mainly you just lost your balls somehow somewhere...

A woman's biological purpose is to provide a healthy heir - not to indulge me with philosophical arguments and debates or even to bring home the bacon, that's my job. Just because you can't do the same doesn't mean that all men have to stoop to your level and be a beta who spends their day brainwashing teenagers and making less than a Ukrainian migrant in a coal mine.

hahaha don`t forget to save enough money to pay alimony to all of them. Dozens, possibly.

Like I said, just because you're a lame excuse for a provider doesn't mean other normal men are....

They'll be fine. Everyone that's close to me and I love is going to be well taken care of, even ahead of myself.

Now, tell us what you have done to save the white race

I don't fraternize with others and support fellow white conservatives. I don't associate with people or groups that I don't want to. And besides, the white race has to want to save itself - there are always going to be those who care and those who don't and bring on more self-harm. I can't help everyone that's why I concern myself with only those close to me.

You are getting close to 40 now

Except I have a decade to go before 40... But that's around the age I'll start looking for a young 18-20 year old that I can actually stand to be with for a prolonged period of time. Every financially successful man should have at least one woman that's 10-20 years younger.

you will be too old and lazy to take care of your kids like a father should.

Just because your balls shriveled up so much to the point where your T count made you turn into a giant ***** aka a male feminist, doesn't mean mine will. I'm more physically fit now than when I was 18. Even if God gives me 60-70 years you better believe I'll still be riding on a Harley, chasing tail, and intimidating beta males.

have your wife bear 5 kids for you?

Ugh never.... Only dumbasses and beta cucks stay with a single woman. Real men spread their seed far and wide.

Work / What is a good monthly salary for an English teacher in Poland? [124]

Dirk, I actually work 9 months and get paid for 12. Isn`t it a nice arrangement?

Not when the average teachers' salary is less than a guy who digs coal. It's only a nice arrangement if you're willing to waste 9 months making crap money to get 3 off. It's like spending an hour taking a survey to get $10. It's only a good deal if your time isn't worth more than $10 an hour.

How long is your holiday in those businesses you slave for?????

Unlimited. I work when I want. If I decided not to work for a while I have that freedom. If I want to work I travel to my clients whenever I want and get nice hotels, food, liquor, etc. comped. I can be sitting on the beach enjoying a corona or sitting in my pajamas rolling blunts closing deals on the phone.

17 zl an hour whereas most teachers can get at least 60zl through a school and perhaps 80zl or 100zl privately

Highly overestimated. Stats and numerous sources show otherwise. Private tutors advertise at 50-80 z's, 80-100+ if you're providing a unique speciality like business english, legal english, etc. And that's only in the largest cities like Warsaw, Wroclaw, etc.

6000zl before tax

Garbage money.

Just look at the amount of threads on here from people complaining about going into teaching English and then they're shocked that they'll only make about a grand a month rofl

Good private teachers earn a lot. My uni friend is a private English teacher.

Yes if you're running a business and teaching groups business english, legal english, etc. then you can make great money by Polish standards. Also, you're not dealing with brainwashing pre-teens and teens like our fellow PF LBHs here. You're actually a professional - more of a consultant than teacher. You work a few hours a night when people are off work, offer private tutoring, etc. not working in some grade school or high school.

Love / How do Polish men feel about gender equality? [780]

Women are getting away with all this because they are not held to account and be responsible for what they do

Of course. Well you can thank western (((media))) and western culture for that... women are encouraged by the television to be giant ****** and ride a rainbow of dicks, while in school and careerwise they're pushed to having careers and away from being a home maker and that's even frowned upon. if a girl graduating high school said she just wanted to be a home maker everyone would criticize her. but yet the girls going to college to get drunk and have sex with a bunch of random dudes then after 4 years they get a bachelor's in business and get a job at a soulless corporation till theyre one day 40 years old and still unmarried with no kids - and that's if they're lucky and didnt study art or gender studies or some bullshit and now serves frappes

On top of it, they demand equality yet want special treatment which would is the opposite of gender equality... and the whole paygay thing is another crock of ****

Fortunately, a good amount of women realize in their early mid maybe even late 20s realize this bullshit and figure out that getting married and having kids is worth it afterall and it'll brign them more happiness than any job title could, especially amongst the conservative suburban type... but the younger ones are glued to their cell phones watching twerking videos, listening to wet ass pussy by cardi b, etc. It's ridiculous too how much commercials and all these media channels are promoting race mixing. Oh man they're really hitting the goyim every way they can.

I wonder what would happen if some girl was into you, hitting on you and everything and you said "Sorry, but I only date virgins"

Big city schools suffer from the shortage of English teachers.

And? Doesn't change the fact that the salaries for English teachers are among the lowest in Poland. You can make more money digging coal. That's why teachers are forced to take on other jobs and tutor on the side.

I can`t blame you for spreading fake news..... love correcting your mistakes and errors. It is such fun. hahaha

And I love it when the teachers union begs PiS for an extra $100 a month because they make so little

Thing is, the people influencing and financing these kind of rallies eventually want to have it on-demand, no questions asked, up to basically when the baby is born and potentially even during/after. I agree that Poland's abortion is restrictive. Ultimately though if a women really believes that she couldnt give the kid a good life then it's understandable in a way, a bad choice out of only bad options.

SWERF and TERF sounds like a good dish at the local butch dyke's restaurant
