Life / Why there is always around a horrible smell of sweat in Poland [188]

Europeans are known for not bathing and shaving legs and arm pits.

Lol...

There are definitely some spices that eaten regularly result in body odor

And that was the point I was making. Thank you for agreeing because certain foods, such as onions, garlic, exotic spices cause us to smell. We are what we eat, we sweat out through out glands which we take in to our body.

I remember my grand mother used to say "we were poor but we could always aford soap and water" (she had issues with smelly people, povery is not an excuse) - she bathed every day until the day she died - I really could not imagine going home and not having a bath - it's so nice to take the days grime off your body (I only work in an office btw not a coal mine) and to slip into clean clothes and relax - similarly to wake in the morning and wash and dress to freshen yourself for the day ahead...So is a cultural thing or is it down to personal choice?

Yep. I liked it, actually... in a weird kinda way. It was kind of a nice body oder. I found it kinda sexy.

pheromones are what attract us to the opposite sex...what one persons finds sexy another finds just plain stinky ;-)

Life / IS CHEATING ON EXAMS OK? (younger Poles don't think so) [30]

I did a friend who works for an agencies a favour a couple of months back and did some invidulating on some exams - exam situations in the UK are pretty strict and any sign of cheating would mean that the kid is removed from the exam.

Liars and cheats are just pathetic!

for real, u also forgot abt their drinking and smoking habits..

Can you explain why you feel the need to slag off British women? Is your mum English? Do you have any sisters?

UK, Ireland / A collection of noimmigration's threads or "STAY AWAY from BRITAIN" [978]

I would hope a bit of both, but it is true that we cannot sustained the influx of migrants from none EU countries, we have more than enough labour both professional and none professional from within the EU to cover our needs.

The NHS has changed it's recruitment policy and they were one of the largest recruiters from outside of the EU, things change and the population of the UK has changed to a degree we no longer need to source from outside of the EU.

Lets not forget the briefcase and a copy of Stage...that way he has all bases covered :)

x-- only 1 point was frm me on that list

Yeah, whatever...you obviously don't know a great deal about surregacy because it's not a simple case of some bloke popping to a ivf clinic and depositing some sperm and it's also derogatory to refer to your birth mother a "host" And by the way, gay men don't spend their lives slagging off women!

Actually you wrote:

for real, u also forgot abt their drinking and smoking habits..

Which means you agreed with all of what was written.

May I ask a question? I'll assume your answer is yes, so i shall proceed.

Why do you think British women behave the way they do? Do you think that British men are perfect? You mention about our problem with teenage pregnancies - do you think it's imaculate conception or could it be that some grubby little 15 year old boy is playing his part too, but lucky for him he can scarper after the happy event has been announced?

Do you think that only British women drink copious amounts of a weekend? If so why were the marjority of arrests in holiday resorts British men who were too drunk to behave themselves? When I say behave I mean not only stupid druken behaviour, but also violence and sexual assults.

silobreaker.com/DocumentReader.aspx?Item=5_890272784

Do you think British women changed to cope with how British men behave? Or are British men still the same and British women have moved on?

I wouldn't dream of slaggin of British men because I know men come in all shapes and sizes, some good and some not so good.

I think this thread is unfair, to pit women against women - I would like ADMIN to remove it, it is degrading towards women!!!!

Do any of the other female forum members think so?

History / Battle of Grunwald 1410 The biggest medieval battle. Germans smashed. [174]

Its just 1410!!!!! WOW thats going a bit over the top, lol.

Battle of Hastings interests me and that was 1066 :)

sorry for taking it a bit off topic, just wanted to point out to Torny that there are no time lines where history is concerned.

Work / Average monthly salary in Poland is around 1000 PLN (few hundred bucks). [387]

dnz is originally from the UK so in comparison it is a lot cheaper, that's if you're earning a good wage...if not, prices keep rising and certain people get poorer and poorer.

I would say Poland (food prices) are reasonable, but it's not like you're going to get a weekly luxury shop for £10 - people seem to have this premisconception that Poland is dirty cheap and you can live on a pittence - it's simply not true.

The first time I went to the Czech republic I paid 30p for a pint of beer and £2.50 for a steak dinner (including coffee :))) - those times are well and truely gone! Exchange rates are bad in EU has expanded......

I'd prefer it if people wrote something rather than adding links, it's creates a more interesting thread.

But thanks for starting the ball rolling.

could people elaborate a little on the person they are writing about, the whole idea of the thread was so I could learn about little bit about women who helped to shape Poland or contributed to it's history.

Thanks guys, it's amazing the achivements of these women..something to be celebrated. :)

How much more iconic can one be?

Probably some peoples idea of "iconic" is quite different! She goes down in history for great achievments and i dont personally think you can get more Iconic than that :)

Life / Cost of converting cars in Poland to left-hand drive [58]

Get in touch with the AA they will probably be able to recommend a good garage that can do this in your area. It's probably more common these days as so many people are passing through and purchasing cars in the UK to take back home.

Today, 08:26 Report #78

It will be interesting to see how the prices go (up) once the euro is introduced in Poland.

I dont think interesting is the word, my parents spend a large proporition of year in Cyprus and they got it earlier on in the year and prices have absolutely rocketed! :(
