Language / A little Polish grammar. Masculine, animate objects. [64]

They look very familiar ;)

Mocha, 3 books that you need to buy:

amazon.co.uk/Polish-Weeks-intensive-course-CD-ROM/dp/8375440299/ref=dp_ob_title_bk
amazon.co.uk/301-Polish-Verbs-Conjugated-Barrons/dp/0764110209
amazon.co.uk/Collins-Pocket-Polish-Dictionary/dp/0007259980/ref=pd_sim_sbs_b_1

Work on a chapter a day of the 1st book and in a month you'll be half way there ;)

As for the verbs, work on conjugating the present for imperfective verbs first. Then the past and then the future tenses.

Use the dictionary to build your vocabulary.

Read as many ebooks and watch as many Polish films as possible.

Hope that helps :)

Life / Halloween vs All Saints' Day in Poland [48]

It's a Celtic festival to celebrate the end of the harvest/end of the year.

Absolutely.
Christians have stolen other Pagan traditions and re-branded them. These include 'Christmas' and 'Easter'...
Although Hallows Eve' is an old Pagan traditional, 'Trick or Treat' is an American addition which seems to be confusing some posters...

You're an American. You gave yourself away too easily.

rather than have a go at my dad

Why would you have a go at your dad? You obvioulsy have an interest in other people's sex lives.
How old are you? 45? 50?
Why don't you stay out of other people's personal lives and work on making yourself a better person.
Your opening post was littered with grammatical errors. Maybe you could spend your time a little bit more productively and learn something.
Who knows, maybe one day you could get a VISA and migrate to the UK or Poland.

you think she is geniun?

Please help I just hope she not a con artist

It looks like there's only one con artist on this thread - You!

an American troll probably wouldn't know it.

Exactly Harry. This is a troll thread written by a either a non-native speaker of English or an uneducated American troll.

Also, notice how many of the posters here have assumed that despite:

she has her own place, a job

have decided that because she's Polish, she must be poor and a gold-digger.
Harry, I'll bet you a beer that the OP is also one of the first posters to respond in this thread...

Life / Poland: The land of -isms [63]

Now take white people (who are increasingly more divided in US) still most of them vote for Republicans (more socially conservative).

There's a good reason for that:

News / Lech Walesa vs Immigration: Brits humiliated him at London Heathrow Airport [105]

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about Paulina.
I'm guessing by the 'your lot' comment that there's supposed to be an offensive blanket statement in your post somewhere :P

As I said before 'don't shoot the messenger'...

You should also remember that it takes two to tango - and no-one's complaining... ;)

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

Perhaps its a matter of taste.

Absolutely right; it's all down to taste :)

Personally I find the british (mostly the english) irritating because they are quite cocky.

British guys are not cocky. Polish girls just find us more attractive than Polish or even American guys :P
Many Polish girls want a British boyfriend. But that's not our fault; we didn't choose to become a fashion accessory xD

Correct me if I'm wrong

I have no idea mate. You're probably right. I'll have to check that now :P
Either way, it does explain why my IP changes. Well, that and I have a dynamic rather than a static IP, so it sometimes changes if it's turned off for more than say 8hours ;)

Have you reported these posts?

Do I report each and every post made under that nick by that user? No.
Have I expressed my concerns about that user posting under that nick? Yes. See above and read chat more often ;)

The moron's IP was temporarily suspended.

Well that's good news. Unfortunately anyone can hide their IP address quite easily using a proxy server. However, his posts aren't all being binned nor is his account being suspended.

Also, I agree with you but should you be calling a registered user a 'moron'? ;)

Or maybe by 'allow to post' you mean all posts should be pre-moderated and filtered before they go live

No. By 'allow', I mean do nothing about it. Temporarily suspending that IP is a good start :)

You're using multiple IPs - would it be enough reason to suspend your account because of that? Probably not.

I'm either on my laptop or posting from my local public library. My IP address may change between the two (and the various library computers IP addresses) but I'm only posting from one account and have been ever since this account was created about 6 months ago :) :) :)

Thank you admin for your response. I believe my questions were fair and valid.
Thank you once again :)

Yes. He started a thread just 3-4 hours ago: https://polishforums.com/usa-canada/indian-origin-woman-miss-america-68174/

And has been trolling under that guest nick whilst suspended.

This thread you created is about multiple usernames, which I pointed out isn't allowed according to the forum rules:

One person is allowed to use only one username when posting to our forums or else s/he will be in violation of this terms of use.

How about answering my questions:

P3, for how long are you going to allow your mate to use the nick 'Harrys moma' to troll a certain poster here?

Also, when a user has his account suspended should he be allowed to continue posting as a guest user?

You can only have one account. But you may post under guest names (as long as it's not an abusive or trollish post

Why would any registered user post under a guest account other than to abuse or troll?

Personally I don't believe that Dont Gag Me Yo/MoOli should be allowed to use that nick just to troll another poster.

Also, when a user has his account suspended should he be allowed to continue posting as a guest user?
If not, why is this currently being tolerated?

It is ok to post under different usernames

Really? The rules clearly state:
NOTE: It is possible for Admin and moderators to determine which username/s the poster has used when submitting a message as Username [Guest]. One person is allowed to use only one username when posting to our forums or else s/he will be in violation of this terms of use.

polishforums.com/rules-privacy-tos/

Are you talking about having multiple accounts or having one account and also posting under guest accounts?

Love / Polish girls- breasts size [65]

meat a polish woman

Was that a deliberate spelling mistake or a freudian slip?
Either way, I'm pretty sure some of the forums female posters would rather not be graded by their physical attributes; they are after all human beings and not pieces of 'meat'.

I don't wanna be frank but I'm gonna. Stop making these incredibly shallow stupid ******** threads!!!!!

agreed.

Love / Polish girls- breasts size [65]

Only a person who sees a woman as a pair of tits would start such a silly topic.

Right.

Having known women with large, small and barely breasted, I can say that I prefer small sturdy breasts any day instead of those large drooping bags hanging down to their bellies...,

Given your post, how do you think of women any differently than the OP?
I understand that's your 'preference' but you are still grading women not by their personality and charachter but by their breast size and shape.

You guys (and you know who you are) are making yourselves look shallow and pathetic.
How about showimg some respect to the fairer sex rather than objectifying them...
This is a stupid and pointless thread.

UK, Ireland / Learning Polish - Polish shops in England? [34]

I was wondering, when I become a fair amount better at Polish, would it be a good idea to visit them and try out my Polish? (obviously I'd be buying things there).
Or would the Poles running the shop be a little bit reluctant to have an English person learning Polish in their shop?

I pretty much did the same thing. I knew that one shop sold Polish dvds so I used to buy them there.
I live in a different city now, so I went in a Polish shop just to practise my Polish a bit :D
Did they mind? No. The lovely young lady behind the counter couldn't work out if I was English or Polish :D
Happy days :)

Roz, that clip. tut tut tut. Very poor and inaccurate racial stereotyping :P

Life / What makes a man a Pole? what does it mean to be a Pole? [187]

I got a bit curious as to what defines a person to be Polish...?
let me start first, in my opinion it is the blood,

Surely not Goofy? After all you upset a Poster, who was born Polish, last night by saying that blood only accounts for 1% of being a real Pole.

What makes a Pole a Pole?
Surely its not only blood,

Right then. So by your own admission, someone who isn't Polish and doesn't have 'Polish blood' but lives in Poland can be more Polish than a Pole (with the fancy 'Polish blood')who's long abondoned his homeland.

That is what you are saying, right? Well, I would agree with you to a point there. xD

Genealogy / Polish blood only makes up 1% of your "Polishness" [77]

It's sounds like one of the British migrants who agitate against Polonia on PF sent you a PM.

Incorrect.
It was actually Goofy, a '100% Polish' migrant living in the UK, who told Mochadot that she wasn't Polish (openly on live chat).
He said the Polish 'blood' accounts for only 1%, the other 99% being some wierd sense of patriotism... how very ironic :D

Mocha, tbh having spoken to you a bit, you do come across as a typical American young lady. I can't see much of the 'Polish' in your character.

Although you were born Polish, you are definitely American culturally. But don't worry, there's still hope for you yet xD
Please do not take offence, this is just my humble opinion.

Life / Professional feminists' of Poland meet-up [631]

Well we can't all hate women. ;)
Personally, I have no reason to.
I think one would have to feel a lot of bitterness about women and have experienced a particular type of upbringing to say some of the crazy things I read on here.

We can only educate the world one lost soul at a time :D :D :D

You don't care about the people in those places anymore than they care about you.

First of all, you are addressing a lady. Show some respect.
Second, who made you an expert on that particular poster and her thoughts?

Feminists are mostly a bunch of slimy hypocrites with an agenda that is largely about your ego.

Rather silly, ignorant and unnecessary blanket statement.

There are differences in males and females but feminists, by and large, don't seem to acknowledge the male perspective in this AT ALL.

I'm a male, I don't consider myself as a feminist though.
However, what is the 'male perspective'? You seem to be in a minority with your views. Most males seem to have a much higher opinion of women than you do. And thank god for that :P

Life / Professional feminists' of Poland meet-up [631]

I'm just a woman who wants women to have equal rights and opportunities. Plenty of men want that to.
All people who want that are basically feminists.
I don't understand what's wrong with that.

+1

+2

As Paulina says, plenty of men want equality for women. In fact, I'd suggest it's impossible to be a straight man with any kind of feelings for women without wanting it. How can you profess to love someone while also looking down on her or wanting her to be without rights or respect?

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Any guy (straight or otherwise) who loves and respects the fairer sex could never begrudge them their basic human rights of equality.

The funniest thing about tis thread is that there's 2 sides; those that are arguing for equality and those who reject it.
It's highly probable that those guys who clearly think woman are sub-human and don't deserve equality, had they been born grils instaed of boys, would be 'feminists' themselves - man-hating feminists xD

I'm not sure whether it's due to lack of intelligence or maturity, but some little boys out there need to do some growing up :)

News / Poland's John Paul the Great canonisation this year [177]

No. Your are not alone in your thinking.
Fortunately many Catholics in Poland choose not to adhere to this and choose instead to 'sin' xD
The low-birth rate in Poland is proof of this :)
Unforunately, the damage that has been done in poorer parts of the world cannot be undone.
That guys has a lot of blood on his hands. Surely he couldn't have met his maker with a clear conscience.
