Thilo Sarazzin for Chancellor?!

Nah, Martin Schulz should become a new chancellor of Germany.

He is a model politician and a true German:

> he is a socialist, communist even, so the liberal media in Europe will love him

> he is an alcoholic, so he will establish a natural and good relations with Claude Juncker and the European Commission

> he is "well educated": he is a high school drop-out without Matura. Too much education brings doubt, as a moron he will be strongly convicted to his leftist ideas

> He is generally hated in Poland, so you can show those nasty Poles that you don't care about their opinion

Vote for Schulz

The US is it's own continent...we have a gazillion neighbours, we can't do the same politics as the US! It's called realpolitik

Germans were always to weak to rule the whole Europe but also too anxious to sit still on their own asses. Too weak to control yet too strong to accept it

Hey, if they weren't complaining..... that means they like it.

I think those women were just a smoke screen, all he really wanted were those goats but was too shy to admit it

Nice heavily biased chart brought to you by the Pew, not really realible? Its header says Democrat!

Public surveys are like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're going to get.

The European council even get a "public opinion" on how the EU will perceive America in 2028. That's just wunderbar

Why stop here?

All the money that Germany doesn't have to spend on its military thanks to the US protection is a direct benefit for Germany's budget and the national economy

Once he is gone, that whole dreary topic will be gone again too..

Instead of wishful thinking you better prepare for a second 4-year term :-)

Few German politicians showed so many sympathy and understanding for Poland. There is no guarantee that her successor will be similiary inclined.

No joke, but I would miss her too.

She consolidated the V4 and she has helped to secure the majority in Parliament for a conservative party in Poland.

She has also showed us that Germany make dangerous political mistakes and that they don't have to necessarily occupy a leading role in Europe.

bad message to Germany (...) That means a nuclear war in which case what Germany spends on defense means squat, so why bother.

That's the reality check. If the US and Poland will also make Germany a target for a possible Russian aggression the whole picture in Europe changes. Germany won't be able to play both sides. Germany should stop doing shadowy deals with Putin and start being more reliable as a NATO member.

It was exactly the same with INF treaty regarding intermediate-range nuclear rockets. Poland is already in range of Russian [short-range] rockets due to close proximity of Kaliningrad. Russian rockets could reach most targets in Poland.

Obviously, Russians had intermediate-range rockets up and ready and they could also launch them from their ships (which wasn't specifically banned by the INF treaty) but it wasn't official.

And now it is official. With INF possibly revoked the whole Europe is in range and needs to deal with a Russian threat. No more pretending that the threat isn't real.

After Fukushima the mood in the german populace was to nearly 100% against nuclear power

The public opinion is so naive and so easily manipulated. And those who knows how to do it are a major winners.

Japan is a land of constant earthquakes and that's what lead to tragedy. In the US there're close to 100 nuclear reactors and some of them are half a century old. Yet no nuclear disaster ever happened in the US.

Nuclear energy is "the greenest" energy per Wat that you can get.

Yet you seem to push their politics constantly.

No, you are confusing me not taking part in a hysterical cries and grudges against the ruling party with "constantly pushing their politics"

Those boxes that you're trying to squeeze me in are as narrow as you political horizons my friend :-)

So why are you promoting PiS

I'm not promoting PiS but simply accepting them as a lesser evil. We've got two major blocks in our parliament and out of those two, PiS is a lesser evil and an useful proxy. Trust me, my preferences are more radical - especially when it comes to economy and foreign politics - than PiS but they can't be materialized in a current parliament.

Or indeed, the same party that has the child of a well known PZPR doctor as Justice Minister?

So much for the better if the dogs jump to bite their own throats. People like Piotrowicz will be twice as aggressive since they have to prove that they're not one of them anymore. And once you use such a people you can dispose them since they have a mentality of a prostitute and won't be reliable in the future.

Stop being such a simpleton and get familiar with classics like Sun Tzu.

And we know that once Poles leave Poland, they don't really give a stuff for their country

I didn't "left" Poland but simply got a temporary contract in London. When it's completed I'm coming back. It will give me financial freedom and money to invest in Poland.

Comrades of different colours, unite ! - you wanrted to say?

Nope. I despise communists and communism in general. For me PiS is simply a proxy to remove the remnants of the old system. By any means possible. And to do that they need to have a stable majority.

I don't fancy their economic policy since I'm a believer in capitalism myself. No other economic system is as productive. The problem is that in Europe capitalism on a way out and replaced by eurosocialism.

Yet, PiS is useful for removing old commies from Supreme Court and for opposing leftist bureaucrats from the EU and their agenda of cultural marxism.

So, looking at a modern political scene in Poland, PiS is a lesser evil.

Jak sie nie ma co sie lubi, to sie lubi co sie ma :-)

An article about Poland in Foreign Policy: Poland's Opposition Has Nobody to Blame but Itself by Daniel Tilles, Tom Junes.

Good article. The authors have actually a good grasp of Polish politics which is quite uncommon for foreign commentators

Actually, SLD leader forbid such a coalition as not-so-very-constructive opposition wanted to form a solid anti-PiS block. Yet, local leaders wanted to make a stable coalition and work for their local communities instead of fighting in pointless wars. The whole post-election political scene in Poland looks more and more interesting

So I read that PiS has already acquired a few PSL activists in local councils. They've also made a coalition with SLD in one of them. It looks like PiS is slowly absorbing lesser opposition parties. So they not only won the local elections but also getting more traction in "local" Poland

Tbh, I can clearly see in the indicated article of DW that they were Syrians:

You're right, Ziemowit. My bad that I missed it. I still uphold my point about cultural enrichment in Germany though.

Another act of a cultural enrichment in Germany I believe.

DW doesn't even say that they were Syrians

How can we still believe what German press have to say?

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

This Polish obsession with Germany, Russia and Putin looks more and more like a mental disorder.

Not much of an obsession more like a sober observation. If I twisted any fact then prove me wrong but don't to try to force "obsessions" on me.

Whatever language it is, my bet is that they don't waste any time talking about the past

Past is important. Past defines who we are now. Past also defines the whole nations and their present politics.

Without a healthy past it is difficult to build a healthy future. It just comes back to bike you in the *ss.

For example: do you think that Germany would behave like they did in 2015 if not for their ugly past?

Your past, which you shared with us on this forum, has defined you. You are a sum of your past actions, your experiences and memories.

KGB had radio operators, too. And intelligence gatherers. And other support employees

Putin was not a 'support employee' but an active field agent in East Germany.
I understand that he has got some substantial following, even outside of Russia, of people who falsely perceive him as a 'defender of conservative values'.

Ronald Reagan was a conservative. Margaret Thatcher was a conservatives. Putin isn't much more than a 'former' soviet KGB agent

Spike31 does. So I am curious why he despises a man he never met.

I've also never personally met Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot or Che Guevara and yet I despise them all for their actions.

And no, I don't think that Putin is as bad as any of those aforementioned persons.

Yet, he still is a former KGB agent (he claims that are no "former KGB agents" - once an agent you're an agent for life) and only the most ruthless and unscrupulous people worked for Soviet special agencies like KGB, NKWD or GRU.

News / Future of Polish-Ukrainian relations [560]

Do you think one day Ukraine may borrow culture from Western Slavs?

First they have to officially and practically renounce the cult of Stefan Bandera and UPA, just like Germany renounced Adolf Hitler and NSDAP.

They can't follow the cult of mass murderers from UPA/OUN and also be perceived as a civilized society at the same time.
